I set myself targets for my weight loss. Over Xmas/New Year my plan has a 5 pound weight gain. Hopefully it will be less but regardless Jan 2nd I am back to my current plan.

Wouldn't it help this thread if people put their weight loss/gain data in? Surely the benefit is to show how it aids all our goals, and if no snacking lead to no loss, then it is not as useful as people imagine. Dinner isn't snacking. I assume this challenge is about eating away from regular meals. My plan is a low carb 5 meals a day. I don't "snack" at all, in fact I get bored of having yet another meal. But I stay within my calories and don't eat anything outside my regime.

Smaller, thinner sliced loaves (warburton in the UK) can be 60kcals per slice. The average medium slice is 100kcals, so the smaller loaf is quite a saving

A tip is to put it in the fridge. It'll take a good workout for you to get a pea sized amount out, it may be net zero in calories. Or not.

I now eat 4 smallish meals per day - averaging 400kcals each. When I get home, I know I have 2 meals to come which helps with the extra curricula snacking.

She didn't say "cured" though, did she? Any form of weight loss will alleviate symptons of type 2 diabetes, so perhaps not this particular diet, but any successful diet will reverse symptons. Perhaps you should pause slightly before slinging the insults around?

If you calculate your TDEE with workouts, you shouldn't eat back your workout calories, as they are already factored in.

That is basically the consensus from when I was a child. I don't know if it's right or wrong, but it doesn't strike me as bad advice.

By the way, the Mexican rice dish wont work because rice is a carb. Rather than cut them out, try increasing sweet potato and brown rice - natural carbs with less refinement. It is the refinement process of things like flour and therefore pasta and brown rice into white rice that is a problem.

Looking at your diary, there is an awful lot of exercise calories - are you sure they are accurate? 1300+ kcal is a LOT of exercise unless you are running for more than hour for example. Worried that you may be deluding yourself with the exercise calorie count? And (personal beef here) why describe yourself as vegetarian…
