@yoovie Really? Many people eat less than I do and still lose weight. I am not actively trying to eat under my calorie goal, as I've stated. I do get out and exercise daily, but it's only walking back and forth from classes and home. 3.5 mph vs 5 mph that I'd do at the gym, same general amounts of time. The answers are not…

@AliceDark Thank you for your advice! I will try to incorporate something like meditation/yoga into my daily routine. I will try to find intro videos on YouTube and do them before bed. It should help that things should start slowing down in the next month or so.

@Wilsoncl6 I'd love to find a fitness class along the lines of what you described once I have the money to. In the meantime I might look into something like a Kinect fitness game that I can do at home in free time. I do have issues with meeting my calorie goal, but I thought anything along the lines of 'starvation mode' is…

@AliceDark I don't think I'm insulin resistant - I have extremely stable blood sugar levels. I do intermittent fasting as well, which I forgot to mention. Unfortunately, I don't have health insurance currently and could not afford tests at the doctors. We do have free clinics here, but they're few and far between and I…

Even when I have increased my activity levels (ex. cardio/strength training 5 hours a week) I have had the same problem and even gained weight. And yes, I did give it a few weeks to even out or for my body to adjust to any changes. No differences made.

@brizzeem I was under the impression that the system relied on calories in vs calories out. I used to work out quite often (4-5 days a week for at least an hour) and only eat back half of my exercise calories. Same results. I would love to increase my activity but don't see that consistently happening until after…

@Caracrawford1 Like I said, I would open my diary. It should be open now. I am definitely 'lightly active' and even if I wasn't, I probably shouldn't make it a goal to lower my calories. @cgrose I walk to class in the morning, walk from class to class throughout the day (I attend school on one of the nation's largest…

@LoraF83 Yes, I will temporarily open my diary. @higgin8283801 I know that weight loss is not linear- obviously I am very patient as this has been happening for months. The problem is that it's not catching up to itself- I have been eating to lose 8 lbs a month and am lucky if I hit 2 or 3... for months in a row. I doubt…

Ah, and just in case - I'm 5'3, 169.6 lbs as of this morning, and 23 years old. Lightly active.
-
I beg to differ. I gained about 60 pounds in the span of 4 months when starting the Depo shot (without changing any habits, and even if I was eating more, it was definitely not enough to constitute 15 lbs a month) and could not lose it while still on it. It's taken over a year to get that *kitten* out of my system. Good…

Have you actively tried to involve her in your weight loss efforts? If not, that might be a good place to start. Find joint exercise activities that you can both spend time doing together, like weekend hikes to a picnic, maybe taking a fitness class together or just going to the gym together. Make it a routine. Start…

I did some calculations based on averages and your food allowance listings, and it's more than likely that you're either eating close to or slightly over 1,800-2,000 calories a day. That's all well and good, but I'm not sure how many calories you're burning through exercise. If you want to lose weight, there needs to be a…

I'm in, sounds like a lot of fun!

Thanks all! I still have about 50lbs to go, but small things like this are what make the entire journey worthwhile.

I usually try to eat in the stages when I'm either starting to get hungry or just entered into the hungry phase. I feel like it allows me to eat more slowly and really enjoy my food. It also keeps me from eating too much like I would if I was starving... it takes my stomach a bit longer to process the idea that there's…

I'm already on your friends list, but if there's anything else I can do let me know! I'm in college as well, next year should be my last -- so I definitely know the troubles of balancing school, friends, and fitness! I'm not sure what your kitchen situation or eating plan is like, but I've been collecting some quick,…

Awesome job!! I suggest some heavy lifting for the next step!

You look fantastic! I think we might have a similar body shape, so you're an inspiration for me :)

You're eating too little and exercising too much.

Hi! I'm 22 and somewhere in my junior year as far as coursework goes with my Anthropology major. Feel free to add me :)

I'm 5 foot 3 inches, 22 years old, currently 181-182 lbs (I fluctuate). I walk back and forth from campus 5 days a week, which varies between 35-45 minutes depending on how much my path strays at 3.5 mph. I'm getting my gym membership next week, and will most likely workout at the gym Monday, Wednesday, Saturday. I'm…

Lower my calories below what I'm already eating? I've been eating around 1200-1300 with whatever exercise I'm doing each day, so netting even lower than that. ...I'm not sure I should lower my calories? Or should I? And I'm planning on joining a local gym, but I just started classes back up this week and have been walking…

Thanks for the input. I do weigh/measure all of my foods. This slow weight loss has lasted pretty much my entire weight loss journey, I'm okay with it because it's a lifestyle change and as long as I'm losing... well. I would just prefer to lose more quickly than I am now. I have changed my macros, I try to keep it at…

Open! But be warned... lots of celebrations in the last week = lots of sweets. Fortunately I've kept almost all days under my calorie goals.

Lubbock, here... Am looking forward to the fall when the weather is nice enough to be outside again :)

I'm in Texas as well! Fell free to add me :)

Hey, I'm in Texas too! I'll support you :)
