My boyfriend just bought me a foam roller but we didn't use it! Dang it! Time to do that!

So... just to clarify... he gained more than he'd anticipated? Makes sense. I dropped my first 30 or so lb just being paleo and not calorie counting. But then I stopped losing. Probably because I was really experimenting with recipes and eating a lot! I never turned around and gained on it, but the calorie counting helped…

Ok folks stop the "Google So & So" train right here. If you want to provide evidence, provide a link pertinent to your argument. No one is going to go research your argument that is backed up with no evidence at all besides "Google this."

LOL's. Why has everyone I know been on a cruise except me? That needs to change as soon as possible.

There is a bit of research about it reseting leptin levels ( a hormone ) but honestly I think that the poster posting that advice was joking at OP. Who knows. There's no way to even know if OP's diet reflects what she described in the first place, and I'm inclined to believe it is not, because on a 1,200 kcal diet of all…

OP, I can easily consume over 1,000 calories at dinner eating salmon, steamed veggies and sauteed veggies. I do it on a regular basis (feel free to check out my every Monday night) but I save up my calories that day for it. It really does matter that you weigh and log your food. I never would've thought I was eating over…

Exercise more.

^^This. Calories add up offensively and surprisingly fast.

Don't do this OP. I think this would reflect terribly on the both of you. I can't wrap my head around people quitting their jobs and doing gofundme, trying to get sex changes or cosmetic surgery etc... and expecting strangers to sympathize and foot the bill. Shameful at best. Pay for your own self unless there's a true…

DAW MY BOYFRIEND BOUGHT ME A FOAM ROLLER FOR MY IT BAND! Daw... that's just the sweetest damn thing EVER! Sry for caps! How sweet is that?

I feel lucky to have a good job. Yes, I work hard at it, but there was a time when I was an over-qualified Wal-mart employee because good jobs are hard to get now-a-days. Now I have my good job back, and I count my luck and blessings almost daily for it.

No. Beer goes under "cultural celebrations" unless you're drinking alone. It also can be re-filed under "Holiday spending", "religious spending" (yes, we drink in my religion) or "vacation" if drinking on vacation. It's not groceries, though.

You get paid to foster. Take on a house full, you'll have the money in a couple years. Then when you decide never mind, you'll have $21,000 to blow on a nice vacation alone. You're welcome.

My sister's going through this phase right now. By golly, she has listened too me rant, so when she comes to visit, it's raw vegan local organic everything! I'm going to eat so many veggies my skin changes colors! It's ON! Challenge Accepted!

I did it two ways. One with with a body fat bathroom scale, which came out to %32.1 and the other was an online calculator that takes your height, weight, measurements, age etc... into account and does a calculation and it came to %32. Since they both came to essentially the same number, I figured it was a decent estimate.…

Yes! Your body is designed to eat meat. I feel weak if I don't eat red meat at least twice a week.

Sounds incredibly legit.

Thank you for this post and for your service as a Marine. Great first post~

Caught in a landslide...

This is what it came out too for me... I'll try that because I am trying to stick in the 1,600 zone for kcal. CARBS PROTEINFAT FIBER CALORIES GRAMS per day 142.1 153 49 36 - 45 1621 GRAMS per meal 71 76.5 24.5 18 - 23 811
-
Oh, thanks! I'll just try this.
-
Jac White, how do I calculate that? Is the fat mass 180 x %32= 57.6lb and the total body mass 180 if that's my weight?
-
Does lean body mass = the amount of your weight that is not body fat?
-
I know I do not want a low-carb diet. I'm trying to figure out what to aim for as far as the protein and fat goes, and carbs, too.
-
That makes way more sense. So how do you find your lean body mass? If I weigh 180 and my body fat is %32, than my lean body mass is 122.4, so 122g protein daily?

It's really exciting when you find something that "works" for you. I had horrible digestive issues before going GF. I'm sure I couldn't shut up about it forever. Now that it's more of a way of life, and it's a couple years in, I don't think I've used the phrase "Gluten-Free" in quite sometime. It's just my way. Everything…
