Hang in there!! Don't cave in!! My doc told me that when we crave foods, especially foods high in carbs--like Chinese--it's actually our blood sugar rising above 80 points. But if that doesn't work and if I'm still craving it 10 minutes later I go grab some protein. Usually that kills the cravings. Also I remember all the…

Unless you have a medical issue, I wouldn't worry about it. Protein is good for building muscles.

I agree with most other posters. You're pic is very nice and you look very healthy. I'd be asking myself what is wrong with him that he felt the need to tell you this! Either he has problems or he's not in love.

Does your college have childcare? I know many of the college campuses (large and small, main and branch and community colleges) around Ohio have low cost and free daycare for students. I'd check to see if this is an option. Also it will give you a much needed break! Good luck!

I tell my students "Where you now sit, I once sat." I realized that this is true in my weight loss journey. Where I am now, thousands (maybe millions) have been. If they can accomplish their goals then I can too! Nothing worth doing is easy. It takes hard work, but I'm not alone. :o)

You can do it! Can you do jumping jacks in a small space? Jog in place? I find that just doing a small bit of exercise renews my confidence that I CAN and WILL stay on track. Good Luck! Sending motivation vibes your way!!

I learned that when my muscles are sore I should do a bit of light cardio. For me this would be walking on the treadmill for 20 minutes, take a 45 min stroll around down, ride the exercise bike at a slow pace, etc. If I let my muscles set the soreness will increase but if I lightly use them the soreness decreases by almost…

Out of curiosity...what does the HCG diet do? Reset hormones? Teach your body to burn calories differently? I'm not trying to be negative, I really want to know. I have a hormonal disorder, so I won't be trying it, but I like to know what everyone is talking about. Especially since ppl seem to love it or hate it.

There are lots of things that cause you to be tired: Low B12 Low Iron Low Vitamin D Thyroid disorder Insulin Resistance Etc. Also, how many carbs do you eat during the day? If you eat a lot of carbs throughout the day you will crash towards the 3pm - 5pm time frame. Good Luck!!
-
Are you following a food program? 50 - 80 carbs a day is pretty low. My doc has me on "low-carb" and I aim for 140 a day. Anywho, to answer your question....I eat protein after a workout. I like almonds. A whey protein drink is also yummy. Also if I feel my blood sugar dip I'll grab a banana...but that has quite a few…

Motivation to exercise if my problem. I like seeing my friends on MFP comment when I post my exercise. I try to post to them with a "Yea!! Great Workout!" or something. Just seeing my friends exercise inspires me. Let's do this thang!

I go to thrift stores and clearance sales. Sears usually has clearance sales throughout the year where you can stock up on shirts and pants for $3-$10. I also shop Kmart and Walmart. Their business casual sections are nice enough for work but cheap enough that I don't mind buying the clothes.

If you still have it after a couple of days, I'd see a doctor. I get a metallic taste whenever my sinuses are acting up.
-
Does HCG mess with your hormones? If your hormones get out of wack, then you'll never be able to maintain weight loss.

You don't always have to eat your total daily calories. My endocrinologist said it's okay to be under (waaayyy under) occasionally. He said as long as I don't eat way under every day that I;ll be fine.

I take a prescription vitamin called Metanx (it has folic acid, B12 and some other essentials in it). I also take 2000 units of Vit. D a day and get B12 shots once a month. (Can you tell I'm B12 deficient?)
-
I used to eat them too; until I found out I'm allergic to some of the preservatives in them. I had no outward symptoms, but the preservatives were really hindering my weight loss and health. Now I eat lost of organic and non-processed foods and feel lots better.

You can do it! I'm turning 30 this year. I know we have a twenty year age difference, but for the past 4 years I've been very very sick. I've finally got my illness under control. I know how hard it can be to come back from something like that, but I also know it's very rewarding! For the first time in 4 years I'm actually…

Ok I never actually did Jenny Craig, but I did look into it at one time. Also, two of my friends HAVE done it. In addition to the membership cost, the "cost of food" ranges from $30-$50 per week. That was about a year ago, so they might have adjusted prices.

I'm 220. Goals: Exercise 5 days a week @ least 30 mins a day Eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner EVERY day.

I use the Jillian Michaels whey protein powder. It's $10 USD and usually lasts me a month. I use this one because it's the only one I could find that doesn't use artificial sweeteners (i.e. aspartame) -- I'm allergic to artificial sweeteners.

Sounds cool!

You can actually do lots of damage to your weight loss goals and your body if you don't eat enough. Some days I eat 1400 calories, other days I eat 800-900 calories. The key is I always eat a minimum of 5 fruits and vegies a day--no matter what. Take some snacky stuff with you like nuts, apples, crackers, cheese, carrot…

You'll see results. Depending on what you are eating probably 1/2 lb per week or so.

Way to go! If you are working out, remember that you're loss may slow down a bit in weeks 3,4,5 since you'll be building that muscle. Then your weight loss will pick back up again. Great Job!!!

Turbo Jam all the way! It can be a bit tough on the knees until you learn the correct form. But I LOVE TJ.

Whenever I took a "break" for a few days I never went back. I've learned, through trial and error, that there is no such thing as a break. My husband and I have one "eat out" night a week and if I want dessert I order it. But other than that I stick with it. But I don't deprive myself. If I want something I eat it, but in…

I have the SAME issue and it does hurt!! I asked a trainer friend this exact question. She said as we loose weight and the gals shrink we'll be able to do jumping jacks, but until then she recommends a standing side jack. You move your arms the same but move your right leg out and shift your weight and then come back…

Hi heboyette! I'm fairly new to the site too! I'd been losing weight for a few weeks when I found this site. My short-term goal is to lose 30 lbs before our vacation. With hard work we both can meet our goals. Good luck on your journey!!
