I just want in on this thread. Been wearing my fitbit nearly a year, but I never trust how many calories it tells me to eat. I'm in maintenance and it's putting me in 2200+ cals, depending, but MFP says 1690.....

Also, sounds stupid, but I find drinking herbal tea (or decaf) at night(when my binges seem to happen!) is a huge helper. I know it's still summer, LOL, but warm, full tummy is a happy tummy, for me at least.

i agree with poster who said to try not to keep those "triggers" around, AND with the poster who said it is a clear sign from your body that it is missing something (calories, or a specific nutrient found in the food you're binging on if it's something in particular). My new strategy (since I tend to "binge" on things like…

I have lost my 9-year-old nephew...twice over. Strange to think of that when I try to lift him up!

Didn't read any of the replies, but...are you taking measurements also? If you're strength training, you could be adding muscle and losing fat...so no change on scale, but perhaps in the way clothes fit/size?
-
Yes! Isn't that what MFP is for?
-
This definitely helps to explain why I gained the minute I switched to "maintenance." Hoo-boy. Thank you....I think. ;)

You will probably lose either way right now, just from incorporating the activity. KUDOS to you for starting an exercise regime!!! You will see nothing but benefit from any sort of movement. Good luck!

None of them are really great...they are what they are...lots of calories in a little form. That said, Larabars have very few (& totally pronounceable) ingredients.

This. How much spinach is a cup of spinach? Should I pack it down, or leave air in there? I want every damn spinach leaf I'm counting. I guess it depends on how stringent you're trying to be about the count. Weighing is more accurate.

For me, I measure the sweet potato raw, then cook it(I bake them with nothing added). Should be same, no? But since this data is all user added, yes, you need to realize these are not rock solid entries...we're just trying to get the best estimate we can. :)

Will work until you stop using it.

Was hoping this was about calves.

Scrolling through these, don't see ANY measurements like mine...not doing much to make me feel like I'm "normal" LOL I've lost 130ish lbs., depending on the day...LOL 5'5 1/2", CW 145ish Bust 41" Waist 30.5" Hips 37" Jeans currently size 2 (still doesn't seem real!) SW was 278...and about 54" bust and hips....Jeans were…

Vegan(by choice) and gluten free(by necessity)

I cannot speak to the relative speed of weight loss, but was always a "true" hourglass with equal bust/hips, UNTIL I lost weight...and now I'm...I don't know what. But my hips are now smaller than my bust(But I still have the 9-10 inch difference to my middle!) :( What do you even call that? LOL

LOVE Leslie! Can't say enough good things. I'd credit about 60 of my lbs. lost to her assistance; I started w/diet first, and did not begin to exercise until I felt I was at a weight where I wouldn't drop dead. LOL It's so hard to find someone who is not TOTALLY IRRITATING on workout vids, but I don't get tired of her.

Try happyherbivore.com. She has LOTS of free no-fat-added recipes, and for $5/week, she sells a meal plan that comes complete with shopping list. Can't say enough about her or her delicious meals!!!!

I basically LIVE on Happy Herbivore recipes. I think you need to get her book for it (I think it's the original Happy Herbivore cookbook) but she has a recipe called "Torkey" that is yummy. Made from tofu. She has MANY free recipes on happyherbivore.com that are all amazing.

You can do it, I promise! I used to be category 3 Obese. I'm now 10 lbs. shy of a "normal" BMI. Never, ever thought I'd see the day! You can add me if you'd like...

Sleepytime really does help relax you if you are looking for something before bed. I'm an Earl Grey lover, also there's one by Bigelow called Costant Comment. Those are both caffeinated. Another caffeine-free herbal I like is Pumpkin Spice by STASH. There's no bad tea, imho!

I was definitely sad to have to give up some of my favorite clothes. I am actually very sentimental about such things, but I just told myself I would have wonderful new adventures with my new clothes, and make new memories in them lol I definitely look older and feel colder, and have a hard time sitting places as my butt…

You really do look amazing! And the difference in the expression on your face says it ALL! Congratulations!!!

Definitely. ALL OVER. But I've lost quite a bit, so it's to be expected. Facially, I'm most concerned with my neck. :( I expected my cheeks to come down (and they were chubby before!) so I wasn't surprised to see that happen, but now I feel like I have "old lady neck." I'm 36. :(

I'm in the same boat...about to begin my student teaching. I've exercised every day all summer, and have lost 30lbs. (on top of what I'd lost before that). I'm TERRIFIED about what is going to happen, but all I can do is try to cook in advance to make sure healthy options are ready for me...Going to try to get up at 5 to…

I switched to almond milk...the unsweetened original is 40 calories for AN ENTIRE CUP. You can make it latte-like. And for sweetener, I use Stevia in the raw. Zero calories. I use the Keurig, I do two pods with that one cup of almond milk and the stevia, and it's 40 cals total. <3

I think the closer you are to your goal, the tougher it becomes for the lbs. to come off. You are doing a lot of resistance training, so I agree, you should compare inches to see if it's just that you're gaining muscle.

You cannot think of it as "going on a diet." That word sets you up to fail. If you cannot commit to transforming your way of eating all at once, make small changes, one by one. Or, commit to being "fat and happy." I was never able to feel happy with myself when I was heavier, but if you can, more power to you!
