Go Seahawks! :)

I have been eating at maintenance for about a year now. I took a break from logging when I was away for five weeks recently in India and Nepal and found myself eating a variety of delicious and unfamiliar foods, often in much larger amounts than I would have at home, and certainly not always primal/paleo. I came back the…

Beautiful though-provoking post....

I've been purposefully at this same weight for more than six months now. I consider myself in the maintenance phase now officially , but I will probably try to lose around five more pounds before this November because I will be travelling for five weeks, and you never know what sort of food one will encounter when away…

Sometimes tedium can work to your benefit... I've found myself at potluck parties where the thought of having to log all the things I bite makes my head hurt. So I just eat less of it. :)

I turned forty last August and the six months leading up to my birthday was so motivational for me! I have reached my weight loss goals and am now maintaining a weight/fitness level I haven't seen or felt since my early twenties. So far forty is fantastic! :)

I agree with this person. If something is too annoying to log, it makes me not want to eat it. And voila! I don't have the nibble after all.

Hi, I was just at Disneyland a few weeks ago and Bengal BBQ in Adventureland had really nice roasted vegetable skewers served with a fresh stalk of green onion on top. I doubt the sauce was as healthy, but it could be served on the side. There was also a nice Meditterranean place that sold kebabs and rice at a reasonable…

If the weight is still gone a month later it sounds like genuine weight lost, and not just from flu. It will happen for you if you stick with it! Best of luck!

I'm 5' 3" and my goal was 115 lbs. However, I'm at 116 now and quite happy about it, so I'm not going to quibble about a pound.

I used turning 40 (this past August) as a motivator to get into shape .....and it worked beautifully! Forty is awesome!

Sliced tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, and those little tiny balls of bocconcini cheese...I associate it with a vacation in Italy. Good times, good salad. And with only three ingredients, very easy to make. Hmmm...haven't had it in a while but will probably wait until summer when my garden is bursting with tomatoes. :)

I don't mind logging over the holidays. I find it motivating to see that I have days where I splurge and treat myself, and still see the ongoing downward trend of my weight loss over time. :)

Kathmandu, Nepal Busy, exotic, friendly, a little bit crazy, colourful, inexpensive, fun to explore, and some very good friends live there so we have the locals edge on knowing where good restaurants and interesting places are. I'm planning on going for another visit next winter. :)

Wild salmon and a bowl of warmed blackberries. :)

Just like this person, I enjoy my coffee with cream ( though I don't take sugar and never have in coffee). I treat it like a snack and have no plans to drink it black though I know it tastes "okay" that way. I'd rather drink it black than have skim milk in it though. Ugh. I'd go so far as to say that drinking cream in my…

I like both my maiden name and my married name luckily. They are both short and strong. Er, like me. *winking and flexing arm* ;)

I just read an article this morning on the BBC about the cultural evolution of the "three meals a day". It was actually not very typical until recent times. Interesting. Personally I am hungry in the morning and like to eat breakfast. (The ancient Romans thought otherwise apparently...)
-
My very determined friend has lost well over fifty pounds this past year, so I think that given enough hard work, it is quite possible. Good luck!

Cream..... Why yes, I WILL have a little coffee with my cream! It's a vice I plan on keeping. ;)

We like to geocache when on holiday... On my recent trip to Peru, I helped set up a geocache with my friend on the Inca Trail. (My cache is called "Dead Woman's Pass"). And while in Peru, we found many different caches--some in urban areas like Cusco and Arequipa, others out at ancient rock cairns high in the Andes, at…

A little yellow sun dress from the seventies that my mom is wearing in a photograph taken on my first birthday. So my mom has just had a baby and SHE can wear it! But I am still struggling to zip it at the back. Soon though! SOON! She looks so cute in it..... :)

Very cool, mike! :)

Congratulations! You look great! Hope you get back to Tanzania....beautiful place....I loved visiting there. :)

When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going Billy Ocean, circa 1985. It's on the mixed CD I listen to when I'm exercising. Not a fast song, but motivating. Woot! Eighties music! :)

I eat quite a bit of fruit actually. But I am particularly sensitive to sugar--I have psoriatic arthritis and avoiding it as much as I can helps me stay pain-free---so I tend to be AWARE of it, even in fruit.
