  • Any workout that targets your core. Leg lifts, crunches, planks etc
  • Seems like the mobile version is glitching and won't allow members to click on each other's pics or usernames. Looks like the way to add Friends through the mobile app, is by going back to the main screen > then going to "More" > Friends > + > and then add by MFP username!
  • Mind over matter. You can do this. You have all the tools you need to succeed, and with MFP you'll have all the motivation and support you'll ever need! Best wishes on your fitness journey
  • Seems to be a glitch with the mobile app, perhaps try using the desktop version
  • Wonderful! You've outlined your goals and started your routine. If it interests you, look into investing in a heart rate monitor so you can accurately track the calories you're burning!
  • Very nice!! Keep in my mind, full body workout--many people assume that focusing only on cardio is the key to losing weight, when in reality, light strength training will round out your routine and even help enhance your cardio sessions!

  • That's awesome to hear! You're going to find that it's going to be one of the toughest but most rewarding challenges that you'll ever face. What's great is that there are sooo many like-minded individuals here on MFP, so you'll never be short of motivation or support :) Best wishes on your fitness journey!
  • I, too, looked in the mirror one day and just couldn't believe what I saw. It's a harsh wake-up call, but for me it's what it took. Your enthusiasm is great, and you'll definitely find like-minded people here on MFP. Best wishes on your fitness journey!
  • Best wishes on your fitness journey. Find a routine that you can stick with and keep at it. A study conducted at the University College London, found that on average it took participants 66 days of doing a routine before it became a habit. Sounds intimidating, but you can do it!
  • That's awesome, I personally haven't tried Insanity but have heard good things. Make sure to take things at a pace that you're comfortable with and then build on from there. There's no need to burn yourself out early, and then become discouraged from trying again. Insanity probably came with a 'recommended diet', but…
  • Hello, Danae! Yes, losing weight can be difficult, but definitely not impossible. It's going to take some dedication and motivation, and you'll definitely find the latter here! The dedication, on the other hand, is going to have to come from you. You've had success before, focus on how good that must've made you feel, and…

  • There might be a slight difference between the heart rate monitors you use, but pretty much your body has reached a level where your heart just doesn't have to pump as hard
  • The struggle may be real, but you have all the tools you need to succeed. As corny and cliche as that sounds, it's definitely true. MFP is a great resource to help keep yourself accountable, and LOOK sooo many people who are right there with you. Best of luck on your fitness journey. YOU GOT THIS!! :)

  • Scales are evil! Don't harp on the number it's showing you, focus on the number you want to see. You can do it!
  • You've outlined your goals and identified some of your weaknesses! Finding a routine that you can stick to will take some time. A study conducted by University College London, found on average it took participants 66 days of doing the same activity for it to become a habit. It may sound challenging, but working out…

  • My sister had been using the fitbit ultra for most of this year, just got her fitbit one, and she loves/loved it! She's a nurse, currently for an elementary school, but when she works overnights on the weekends at the hospital she finds it very helpful tracking those calories she's burning while running around. I'll be…
  • I started off just using measuring cups, and estimating weight of chicken breasts. I had bought a kitchen scale a couple weeks ago and just pulled it out for use today, and lemme tell ya how surprised I was at how small 3 oz of cooked chicken actually was!! However, I feel it'll definitely be more useful down the road for…
  • A really good quote goes like this: "The first step in solving any problem, is recognizing there is one". So, good for you that you're taking charge, because really, it's been up to you this whole time! Yes, you'll struggle on this new journey, cause the only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary. Good…
  • I'd suggets to change up your exercise routine, which I'm sure you've done already...but anyhow, your body can get too use to a workout if you don't change it up every so often. Also, I've found that taking a week off from exercising but still maintaining healthy eating habits, kinda helps to reboot the system and get it…
  • I started using MFP, again, in August and have lost 18 pounds. My weight loss has pretty much followed the goals I set on MFP, so, I guess I wouldn't say I've been struggling really at all. However, my girlfriend's best friend, a non-MFP user, has been working out for god knows how long and she just lost 20 pounds a couple…
  • Hey, congrats to the weight you've lost! I'm somewhat in the same boat, I've lost 17 pounds since August when I really began focusing on eating right and exercising more. Those last 6 pounds may sound daunting, but definitely make that your motivation when you're working out--use that goal to push yourself to go that extra…
  • I started a few weeks ago, but 20 pounds by christmas would definitely allow me to hit my GW of 145 (it would even give me a few weeks of leeway to do so  ). My original start weight was 182, I'm currently at 165...so 20 pounds by christmas, HERE WE GO! Good luck everyone and healthy living!!
  • Well shucks, I'm 22, but I can pass off for 21!! Add me for support and motivation!
