My two cents - it's what works for me. I run on the treadmill. When I started, my speed was 5.9. In order to get through week 6, I brought it down to 5.0. Now I'm finally in week 8. My trick to get my mind off of the minutes is to switch up the speed. Sometimes I only run a certain speed for 30 seconds. I try to run each…

I'm down 4.4 since last week. It was a busy week - not a lot of time to relax. This will be a busy weekend for me - one graduation party on Saturday (4.5 hrs from home) and then my son is graduating from high school on Sunday. I need to stick to the fruit and veggie trays!

I found the reusable plastic Ball lids at Target for $3.32. (Much better than the Amazon price of $8.59.) I hope to try putting one of these together tonight!

Well, this is definitely the right group for me! I agree with you logic Cindy. I'm very sedentary the majority of my day. I'm having the same problem with 1200 calories. Maybe it's my lifestyle, maybe it's my age, maybe it's heredity - whatever, I too need to just eat healthy when I'm hungry. Eating HEALTHY when I'm hungry…

That's really great. I'm struggling - what do you think is helping you the most?

166.4 this morning. I'm down .4 from last week. I know I need to move more.

The recipe's sound delicious. I like the idea I can bring them to work for lunch! She adds chia seeds to her base recipe - I'm currently using chia seeds in my morning berry smoothie. Along with many other benefits, chia seeds are supposed to help eliminate belly fat - who can argue with that? I can tell you chia seeds do…

I'm in. I too already weigh myself on Friday. Great idea!

Any thoughts whether the "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" would be better in hard copy format vs. ereader? Typically if there are pictures I would rather have a hard copy but I heard this book does not have pictures? For my "Today I Will...", I will try C25K W7D3 AGAIN. Eventually I will get there. I know it will be easier…

Notice: Please don't yell at me - I'm not an expert, I'm just sharing what I was told. I don't know much about protein powder but my OB/GYN told me to steer clear of soy protein powders. Something with soy and increased amounts of estrogen attributing to increased occurrences of cancer. I know if we listen to…

Try W7D3 of C25K again. I have it tackled on the treadmill but outside - not so much. Some of it is in the terrain, and the fact my speed is not controlled but I know most of it is in my head. I know getting out there is better than sitting on my kiester but I can't wait until I get to the point where running is fun -…

Hi, I'm Stephanie. I've been gaining and losing weight since college. I keep telling myself "not this time" and lo-and-behold, my life gets busy and I start packing on the pounds. I know I need to exercise to keep my weight under control. I know by now I'm not going to stop eating "bad" food. When I'm under stress,…

I actually found chia seeds at Sam's Club. I have to avoid Trader Joe's because I have absolutely zero control in that store. Everything is soooo good. I spend too much money. :)

Love it! I'm going to print this and put it in my office. Thanks for sharing!

This morning I began adding chia to my morning berry shakes! For whatever reason, I think these shakes are really helping me lose weight this week (3ish lbs). They actually seem to be giving me extra energy too (at least in the morning).

Shoot - I'm right there with you ladies but I'm only 48 - I hope my night sweats do not last for too many more years! (I started having night sweats about a year ago.) In addition to the symptoms already mentioned by all of you, I am also having memory issues. Some days I cannot remember basic words. For instance, last…

I had the same issue. It started about two weeks ago. I finally got going again last Thursday. I wasn't exercising and started wanting really bad food EVERY day. It helps me to have MFP friends who have similar challenges - we are in this together. What kept you motivated when you lost the first 60 lbs? Part of my…

Wow - I just looked up the health benefits of chia seeds - I will have to start adding them to my diet. No flavor but lots of benefits - protein, omega 3, fights belly fat (yep, that's what the article said), strong teeth and bones, etc. I'm in!

I've tried "smoothies" the past two days. The nutrition is great, but the taste - that needs work. Yesterday I made one with a banana, non-sweetened almond milk, peanut butter, plain Greek yogurt and spinach. Today I switched out the banana for mixed frozen fruit and I did not add the peanut butter. I have been told to add…

I'm up .2 from last week. When I logged in this morning I realized I didn't log in at all yesterday. Sounds impossible to not realize I didn't log in yesterday but it's true. I typically have the same breakfast every morning and usually enter it when I get to work. I guess I forgot yesterday. I had a busy day at work and…

How is your running going? I made it a mile last night and had to walk a bit. It was really windy and cold (my ears were screaming). My pace was 10.48. That's good for me.

I work for a Fortune 500 company. An online degree is just fine here. I know quite a few people who have online degrees - especially masters degrees.

I too have had a rough couple of days (almost a week). I didn't log my food Sat, Sun or Mon. I'm up about a pound which isn't bad considering. I need a motivation attitude adjustment. I seem to be tired - tired of everything. It has nothing to do with weight loss. It's me and it happens from time to time. I know I…

SW: 174 CW: 174 GW: 135 Not a good week for me. I need to focus and say "no" to unclean eating (more often).

I only have three apps, but the mapmyrun (or mapmyfitness) app is pretty good (and it's free). It will map the route you take - you don't have to run. You can have it tell you when you make it 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, etc. It's motivating for me. It will also tell you the amount of time it took you to go the 1/4 mile,…

I hope you are having a great week! We will help you get back in stride - no worries - you will be fine. I am not looking forward to weighing in tomorrow. This has not been a good week for me. Too many meetings, not enough me time.
-
You will have to let us know how the zombies run app works for you. I just looked it up on the internet. I'm trying to finagle my sons to run with me - this may be my ace in the hole.

Hmmm - well, I hosted Easter (I love to cook and bake). I did alright on Sunday, ditto Monday because we had lots of leftovers. Along comes Tuesday and we went to Red Robin to celebrate my 29th birthday. I had to have a burger. I only ate half and it was still almost 500 calories. :ohwell: I did run on Monday so…
