Great job!! I know how tough weekends can be. Keep up the good work!

Wow - never heard of this but love it! I'll have to give it a go.

My starting weight was very close to yours. I wasn't using MFP and didn't have a good scale when I started so I don't have exact numbers but this is pretty close: April 1 2009 - 325 May 1 2009 - 297 June 1 2009 - 278 July 1 2009 - 260 Aug 1 2009 - 248 Sept 1 2009 - 235 Oct 1 2009 - 228 Nov 1 2009 - 217 then I just tried to…

Great information - thanks! Number 6 is the one that motivates me the most - nothing more satisfying both physically and mentally than the post workout feeling - so accomplished and empowered.

That is AWESOME!!! I wish I could enjoy running. I started C25K in early March, made it to week 4, then it snowed too much to run in. Now it's way too hot - planning to try again in the fall, but I can't get past the knee pain. Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS on your progress!!!

Back in the 80s there was a book called Thin Thighs in 30 Days. It had six exercises and a walking plan which I followed faithfully for the 30 days, along with healthy eating. I was not overweight at the time, just wanted trimmer thighs. In the 30 days, I lost 3 inches from each thigh (19" to 16"). You might Google it and…

I've done that too - once I log it, I'm committed to do it. (Yes, I know I can remove it but that would make me feel soooo guilty)

I'll be 52 next month and started this healthy lifestyle 2 years ago (guess hitting 50 was part of the motivation). Anyway, I am in the best health of my life and have not let my age hold me back at all.

Don't look at it as 'ON' and 'OFF'. This is for life. Just do your best each day to eat healthily and get some exercise.

This is life - and this is FOR life. Don't let a slip totally derail all your hard work. Start enjoying that new bike!!

Spin shoes just have clips on the soles so that you lock on to the pedals instead of using the toe cages. I find they keep my knees straight and also make it easier to do the pull up motion - you will love them for the sprints! They aren't cheap (mine were $90) but since I only wear them i the spin room, they'll last for…

I love spin class!! Get some spin shoes - they made a big difference for me. Make sure you pull up the pedals and not just push down. Try to keep your upper body fairly still when in a run, don't bob around - put all your effort into your legs. Work in some intervals in case your instructor doesnt (some of mine do, some…

I've been stuck at 147-150 for the past few months. This may be where I end up. I was hoping to get to 130 but scale isn't moving lower. I spin, run, and do weight lifting, averaging about 10 hours a week, and eat 1200-1500 calories a day, not counting another 3-4 hours per week walking with my dogs. I don't think I can…

Bump puts this topic under 'My Topics', making it easy to find later to see responses. I buy alot of produce at Aldi - their romaine heads and spring mix bags are of good quality and usually very fresh at half the price of other stores. Some of their other produce is a great buy, some not so much, due to quality. Their Fit…

I just posted this on another topic: Not to discourage anyone, in fact, hope it's motivation if you are young. I am 51 and was obese for 25 years. My skin looks horrible after losing 178 pounds over two years through diet and exercise. My arms and legs bother me more than my torso, especially now that it's summer. My…

Not to discourage anyone, in fact, hope it's motivation if you are young. I am 51 and was obese for 25 years. My skin looks horrible after losing 178 pounds over two years through diet and exercise. Been there a couple times over the last 2 years. Blew the food intake and next day wanted to say the hell with it, but have found that doing a bit of exercise, even a 10 minute walk, reminds me how much better I feel physically and more importantly, mentally, when I am taking care of myself. I'll never go back - I've…

Spinning is my favorite cardio workout. I love challenging myself with steep climbs and sprints. The music and camaraderie make it so much fun. Of course a good instructor and their playlist make all the difference. Give it a try - it's very easy to adjust your level of intensity because you control how much tension you…

I am in awe - amazing!! You should be so proud of yourself and your commitment! Very inspiring for the rest of us too!

We went on a beach vacation in February and I was worried about staying on track with both food and exercise, but we rented bikes (very reasonable cost) and rode them on the beach. Between pedaling through the sand and dealing with the sea breeze, it was a great workout several times a day, so I was able to eat some 'junk'…

Well said. Food is stil an addiction for me too and I don't know that I'll ever beat it. I still feel like I am one slip up away from losing my edge and letting it all go. I want to be one of the people for whom food has no importance but I don't know how to get there. And don't even get me started on the excess skin - I…

Great job!! Isn't the selection amazing in the 'regular' sizes? Overwhelming, really.

I've noticed the same thing - the people closest to me didn't say much through my weight loss but the acquaintances did. I think part of it is that the friends and family see you more often so don't notice the changes. I've also noticed that now that I'm actually 'normal' (BMI wise) instead of overweight or obese, I get…

You are awesome - a true inspiration!! Now I have a question for you - are you considering or have you had skin reduction surgery? I am so discouraged by the excess skin. I could wear at least one size smaller, maybe two, if I didn't have all this extra skin on my arms and legs.

Wrap made with flatout light, lots of romaine, red onions, and various protein (tuna, turkey, or grilled chicken strips), no sauce - the lettuce makes it moist enough. Might sprinkle a little gorgonzola on it. Yoplait fiber one yogurt for mid afternoon, light string cheese for mid morning, maybe a small piece of fruit or…

I love Marzetti's Light Honey Dijon but I make it even lighter by adding more whole grain mustard and watering it down some. I don't like thick dressing and my thinner version seems to ensure I get a taste of it with every bite of the greens.

I used the Leslie Sansone Start Walking workouts on ExerciseTV (Free on Demand with FiOS) exclusively for the first 100 pounds I lost. I started with the 1 mile which was more than I could handle, but stuck with it and made quick progress. After I got down close to 200 lbs, I started adding other exercise (joined a club…
