Just an FYI, I wore my bodymedia core from Oct 2012 to March 2013. I've not had it on since and I am STILL setting off the metal detectors at airports. Both the walk through and the whole body scanners pick up metal on my upper left arm where I wore the core.

Great post!! Thanks for all the good ideas. For a great, creamy soup, I throw an onion, a few garlic cloves, celery leaves and stalks, and a head of cauliflower in a stockpot with some water or low sodium chicken broth and steam until tender, then use my immersion blender to smooth it out. Very filling and satisfying. Top…

It would be nice if you could add a food to your diary from the database search page. I will look for and find the accurate food in the database but when I go back to add to diary, I might not remember exactly which one was the one I found to be most correct. I also wish everyone would add the entire nutritional content…

Throw one rough chopped onion, some celery stalks, and a head of cauliflower into a pot. Add a carton of low sodium chicken broth and a couple cups of water. Simmer about an hour, then puree (love my immersion blender) and season to taste - I just add a little salt and pepper. So creamy and filling for about 30 calories a…

When my son was young, he had a friend with a little 3 year old brother. I was taking them all somewhere when the 3 year old looked at me and asked 'Do you eat a lot of butter?' All I could do was laugh.

It's called vanity sizing and it started several years ago. As we got fatter, they started making clothes larger and not changing the size. When I was a teen, the super skinny girls wore size 3 or 5. There were no 0s or 00s. Remember the 5-7-9 shops? Only the thin girls could shop there. My mom has been the same…

Braum's chocolate toffee ice cream - thank goodness I moved from Oklahoma to New York 10 years ago, no Braums here! Blue Bell ice cream too - another one I thankfully can't get here.

Yum - picture looks so appetizing!

sounds great, thanks!

Yes, the cauliflower soup can be frozen successfully. I do it every time I make a batch. Does your household like cream of celery soup? The more celery you add, the more it tastes like that. Really, the cauliflower acts more like a thickener than for flavor. I have a 13 year old doxie too, and also a 6 year old. The one in…

Start with pound 1. Don't look at 50 - too overwhelming.

Yum, yum, yum! The ingredients are going on my shopping list right now. Thanks for sharing.

Agree on the over training 100%. I believe weight loss/health is at least 80% what you don't put in your mouth. Exercise is important for health and goes hand in hand with healthful eating, but for weight loss, you just have to quit eating! I hate how they show the 'before' video shots of the contestants eating massive…

Same age, same problem. Those Biggest Loser contestants have it too, they just do a good job of hiding it for television. Some of them have had skin reduction surgery after their loss. And some of them are young enough that maybe their skin still has some elasticity. Me - too old and carried way too much weight for too…

She uses way too many exclamation points!!!!!!!! Every sentence in her email newsletter ends in at least one exclamation point. She is one excited woman

I love my spin shoes - they did change my ride somewhat. My knees are better aligned now. I have not tried the Five Finger shoes and have not seen anyone using them in spin classes at my gym.

Creamy Cauliflower Soup - ate this all winter and into spring last year, can't wait to make again this fall. Soften a couple cups of chopped onion in a tiny splash of olive oil, add a few cloves of garlic, a bunch of chopped up celery (great place to use the leaves), a head of cauliflower, and a couple cartons of chicken…

I experienced the same. I started at 325 and had to lose almost 100 pounds before I got ANY comments about it, even from my mom and sister. And it took me almost that long to start needing smaller sizes as well. Once I got under 200 and started wearing misses sizes, every 10 pounds lost meant another size drop. I went from…

You have made GREAT progress - don't focus on what you are still doing 'wrong', look at all the amazing positives. Me - wrong - saving up calories for nighttime candy snacking

Googled 'foods that resemble body parts' and got several hits. First one was: http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/f/foods-bodyparts.htm which discounts it, but I don't care, I still think it's very interesting and every food mentioned is healthy. I can't think of a body part that resembles a bowl of ice cream

That is fascinating - thanks for sharing.

Can't wait for college football to start. Go Sooners!! Love Bob Stoops - he is such a class act and genuinely good guy.

Put the browned meat in a colander and rinse it with hot water before adding the sauce. You'll cut the fat calories significantly and won't notice any taste difference at all. I know, another utensil to wash, but worth it.

Yum, grilled sirloin - my favorite. I prefer the flavor and chew of sirloin to the 'premium' cuts.

Wow, that's a great price!! Shapewear is so expensive. And congratulations on your progress - you are doing great!
