body fat % and inches. if you track those measures I am willing to bet you'll see the progress there even if it doesn't show on the scale. =)

Yeah I guess I need to stop caring lol. Just bugs me when people stare and for some reason I lost the sass to say "HEY My eyes are up here!" Dunno. We have some creeper types at the gym that don't workout and like walk around and talk and stop in a section.... and repeat in a new area.... and continue. Major odd. I Go to…

Trial and error honestly. I learned a while ago that the scale is just a tool and there's no magic number. I obsessed with hitting a pre-pregnancy weight and honestly did probably everything you shouldn't do.... over-trained, under-ate, took diet pills. And yes I hit that "magic number" not counting on a very different…

+1! Way to go! and I had to just laugh at a guy admitting to MOOBS.... Can say I've finally seen it =) But what fantastic progress to you too Sir!

Agreed that parents will be....parents. Would you be open to showing them your logs so they can see that you're getting a good balance of nutrients and not starving? Family means well so pulling up my logs in front of a few members of mine convinced them (especially on holidays) that I am actually ok and not hurting…

HI there Cate! Just wanted to wish you welcome. You'll find a great group of people here and something to make you smile every day. I know I do. Success story, a non-scale victory or just one of the fun threads always perk me up if I'm feeling at all down. The help you get in the community here is amazing as well =)

Yep! I weigh dry according to box measure. Same deal with rice, quinoa, etc.

Hands down My Grandmother. Miss her more than words. My birth mother since that would mean I finally found her. and for the third, honestly my adoptive mom but in a healthy state. She had a massive stroke when I was 13 and was ill for years before that so I really don't remember her "before" the brain trauma. There's a lot…

Great post OP!

No straight paths in life... You took a little detour =) But you're here and you Can do this!

I binge if I hold off a craving too long so my advice is just eat it if you feel like you need it. Not saying go all 3k cals over or anything though!

I have a funky schedule too. I log midnight to midnight. So days I'm not on shift and up at 7 instead of 1:30 that's when I start in.... It gives me "less" eating time on those days but I feel like I'm doing ok. Just got back in the gym and am making some intake and macro changes right now because I think I've really been…

It *was* a great week until my knee and the treadmill had a disagreement today (edit... yesterday... graveyard shift sometimes makes it still feel like monday) and the treadmill won. So, I'm off running for a while. Felt great last week and thought I could bump up speeds a little (seriously increase only of 0.2 on walk/run…

Mine's open too. Missed a little logging recently but you'll see chinese, tacos, pizza...in there previously and I still lost 20 in 2 months. Going cleaner now but I am sure there will be a slip here or there. Feel free to add me =)

cardio after =). ideally I wouldn't do cardio on leg day since that can impair gains but if I had to would go with a bike vs treadmill since that's supposed to be less destructive. I used to leave leg day on an "off run" day so I had that gap. Just did a program change so no cardio which is kinda a good thing since my knee…

Sounds like he's looking to get a faster fix by removing a,b and c and adding "magic pill" just based on what you're saying. That, never has and never will work. I think Skip La Cour really says it best "Supplements are only One part of an Effective Program" I remember that from an article of his last year on…

I'd more more in line with a higdon program but that's what's familiar to me. And I Like the switch ups you get there instead of run x long this day..... repeat... repeat... lol makes it more fun

Ok... You are against Supplements... can you please spell it out a little more for me? Supplement is such a broad word. My husband and I BOTH Supplement. We don't take the same things, 1 because of goals... 2 because of macros.... and 3 because of allergies and contraindications. We're able to do it within our budget and…

This is the one I have... got it about 3.5 years ago. http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Emerson-11-pound-Digital-Food-Scale/5162252/product.html

Are you able to right click and go to view? That worked on my end.... Unless anyone has advice on fixing them?

This coming morning.... since I am a night shifter... breakfast is a 5 egg whites with half a med onion, half a bell pepper and also a serving of oatmeal. Tomorrow similar deal but will toss in some spinach instead

The scale is a guide. I would consider doing measurements and body fat 2x a month and weighing in once a week. If you are losing inches but not seeing it on the scale you can see it in tracking. I think that is a really helpful tool. Take pictures too. I don't always see it in the mirror but in a photo I do. Can you set…

Couldn't agree more.. I just did my cook ahead for the week, well prep and getting it all going in the ovens. Then it's make sure everything gets packed out to Tupperware and arranged in the fridge and I'm golden. So much easier to log that way too. Shame on me for changing things up a little.

You can't spot reduce. Fat will come off where it comes off and that's basically the way it goes. If you could spot target people wouldn't suffer from bat wings, side rolls, big butts or whatever their "area" is they are unhappy with. Just have to stick with a program and expect it to be a marathon and not a sprint. The…

Yes. I can give you a week one summary since I completed and am moving off to week 2. I have been a distance runner for most of my life and with being as out of shape as I am I decided to use someone else's method to see if it's better than how I was working myself out for runs. I had been doing a run 1 min, walk 30…

We're the same height =) and right now you're at my target weight for when I move over to contest prep..in July.. but yes you Can totally lose on 1600 daily. I've been cycling kinda funky lately and fast food hasn't helped but we have quite honesty had some insane days as of late. That aside 1600 Is a good number depending…

We can squat and deadlift at our PF too.... only whatever I see frm staff is saying stuff to the folks that aren't wiping down (YAY) since in a session I got asked by the trainer why I wipe before and after.... go figure now they're enforcing more! Hope it's not a corporate thing and just that some are doing since it would…

Magnesium! I got the first of these pregnant and to someone that hasn't ever had one this severe..... literally it was like someone or something was stripping your calf from your leg a small shred at a time. Ranks up there with the worst pain I have ever been in for my entire life... Since my kids I've gotten them rarely…

You've lost almost 2 of me....... sitting back with the realization at what a number that is really just is astounding. Thank you for being an inspiration to all of us here. What an amazing journey. You truly look incredible!

Most accurate would be getting floated in a tank from what I Remember...... I think least accurate is tape measurements. I had a 9% discrepancy with them compared to the Omron handheld. Believe me I Wish the Omron was wrong!! But I know that it's probably closer to correct. Am getting calipers here shortly so I'll do a…
