The subject of my weight came up. My doctor told me that he had a woman who came in who was obese, but her vitals were as healthy as they come and that she could probably live a very long life in spite of it. He said that I, on the other hand, would end up having a stroke if I didn't control it because my vitals were not…

I work from home and sit in my office all day. I don't exercise. I love to eat. That's my magical trifecta to being obese!!! At various times I have worked at it and taken the weight off, but I always seemed to go back to old habits and end up weighing more than ever. Now that I am 60 years old, I realize that I am…

I got to goal weight using MFP. Then I got cocky and quit logging. Spent months indulging myself, then a few months feeling incredibly guilty. Now I am back to Square One. But (hopefully) I have learned my lesson and will NEVER leave this site again! Anyone can feel free to add me as a friend. The encouragement that we all…

I would love to offer some ridiculously awesome advice, but the poster before me covered it all beautifully! All I know is that I got to my goal weight with MFP. Then I got cocky and stopped logging in. When I stopped keeping a food diary and having the support of my friends here, I basically "lost my mind" and gained all…

That is so sick.

I have days that I'm fine, and days that I feel like I'm starving from the time I get up until the time I go to bed! On those days, instead of three meals, I do "mini meals" more frequently.

I became friends with the nurse at my doctor's office. She was very large. One day she told me that she had been put on antidepressants when she was younger. She couldn't afford them, so she would cut them in half. Turns out that screwing around with the doseage with that type of medication can cause a serious weight gain.…

I was in college, working in customer service at Sears. It was October, and all the Christmas decorations were being displayed. I had to go pick up tickets from the different departments. When I got to the Christmas area, the guy working there put a strand of Christmas beads on me. When I got to Plumbing, they broke. The…

Looks like there are a lot of us 5'4"ers!!! My "first" goal is 165. My "final" goal is 140.

I'm with you! It seemed like a huge number when I started. Congratulations!!!!!

Checking in at 179.5. Lowest I have weighed in a long time! Sounds like everyone is doing very well. Summer is a great time for me to learn new eating habits because I love all the fresh fruits and vegetables available. Hopefully, my new lifestyle will be solidly in place before all the holiday temptations begin!!!!

Thanks....pinned it!

"One serving"...I hate when they do that! My husband went to Pei Wei with our son and thought he had a good, nuitritious lunch. Until he found out that it was DOUBLE the calories he expected because a small bowl, served to just one person, is considered TWO servings!!! Wish everyone who does that would give it in ounces or…

I agree with the caveman! Your dad is no longer young and an athlete, so he picks on others who still have all the opportunities that are now gone for him. I wish there was a magic button where you could just mute him! But since there isn't, you need to try to just feel sorry for him that he feels the need to be so…

(((hhmmmm))) Is it still baby weight if your youngest is 29??????

I have a big two-story house. I guess I could lose weight faster if I cleaned the house more. Did my family pay you to start this??

This is the perfect place to keep yourself motivated! I am at the other end of the spectrum. Nearing retirement, I hadn't weighed myself in months because I knew the result would be bad. And it was when I finally had to do something about it. That was in April and I have lost 40 lbs since then. Don't think I would have…

I am at 188.3, which is down 1.5 pounds from last week. I am VERY happy with that, because I was on a business trip all last week and it is very hard to eat healthy when you are eating out every meal, surrounded by people eating heavy foods and desserts!!! We all have good days and bad days, but today is another grand and…

I'd be happy to guilt you like you're one of my kids :)

I don't know if it still is accurate (or ever was!) but I used to hear 100 lbs for 5 ft., then 5 lbs. for every inch over that. If that's true, for your age group and height I would say 115 - 125, depending on whether you are small, medium, or large-boned.

Sorry I'm late posting...left town Sunday morning and this is my first opportunity. Weigh in Sunday: 189.7. (Starting weight around 234) Yay!!!

Although I'm not in your age group, I would be happy to be your friend...I'm on here every day, and it has been really, really good for me!!!!

I started around 233. Today I weighed 192. My next goal is to be at 179, where I will merely be "overweight" and not "obese." Everyone have a wonderful week!!!!

Under a doctor's supervision, you will lose weight with it. Just be careful that you eat healthy, exercise, and drink plenty of fluids. Your weight may come back quickly when you get off of it, but that depends on whether you have changed your eating habits or not. Good luck...

I had three c-sections and because of complications the doctor had to do a vertical cut instead of horizontal. Add a ton of weight over the next few decades after that and talk about a disaster! It is absolutely the grossest thing ever. When I get the rest of this weight off, if exercise hasn't helped I am going in for a…
