  • I am reading this at the moment as well :) It's one of those "how did I never read this" books I'm catching up on.
  • man I haven't played that in a minute :) I loved rock band. I had over 300 DLC, I played Expert Guitar and was on Hard Pro Drums (working my way toward expert). I even own an ION kit. We haven't played in a while but we tend to bust it out if we have a party at the house.

  • Actually, the science is clear! Your body uses its own internal clock, called your circadian rhythm, to regulate enzyme function 6:00 AM EST - 8:00 PM EST you can eat normally with normal metabolism 8:01 PM EST - 5:58 AM EST you cannot eat at all or it will immediately be stored as fat! 5:58 AM EST - 5:59 AM EST, little…
  • the point of those articles is not to say you only absorb 58% of protein you ingest. It is saying that your body is a complex machine. If you ingest 100g of protein, and your body needs 100g of protein to rebuild muscle, it will use 100% of the protein AS proteins. ONLY in situations where your body NEEDS sugar (to…
  • Hmm. It was always my understanding that the rate of consumption of protein was dependent on the body's need to utilize the protein to rebuild tissue. IN the event there was a surplus, the body goes through gluconeogenesis and converts the excess protein into glucose, and subsequently, excess sugars are converted into fat.…
  • week 5 was always my nemesis. still is. Once my knees feel better I may try again and defeat it, but for now. . .

  • what about ellipticals that read your HRM? I don't wear the watch, but I wear the chest strap when I'm at the gym, the machine seems to read my chest sensor just fine. Can I trust the calories then?
  • Wow! I'd kill for that body too. . . for different reasons :) seriously, you look great!
  • "Black" By pearl Jam, it's such a beautiful song. "Someone Like You" Adele. I have to fight back the tears on this one :P
  • nuts, heavy cream in coffee, mayonnaise on wraps or in meals, cookin in healthy oils like olive oil. Some people don't record when they add a pat of butter to a veggie dish, or a spoon of mayo, etc. record everything. I found the only way I could keep track of my macros was to try and record every little source of…
  • hmm maybe I can make a hybrid. Slightly thinner with slightly more cheese and maybe a little almond flour in there to replace some of the chicken. It is still pretty good. Definitely good to make when the rest of the family wants normal pizza.

  • Last I made the Deep dish pizza found here : http://yourlighterside.com/low-carb-deep-dish-pan-pizza/ It turned out pretty well. It tasted pretty good. I think I used too much chicken and made it a tad too thick, so it tasted more like chicken than it should have. The outer edges (where it was thinner) crisped up nicely…

  • You don't get ketoacidosis (ketone toxicity) from low carb dieting. You get it because your body starts producing ketones and there is nothing to get rid of them. This is usually the case in diabetics that do not produce enough insulin. The ketone bodies, combined with excess glucose, can raise the acidity of blood. Under…
  • I tried the cauliflour hybrid (uses almond flour, cheese, and a little flax as well as cauliflour) and it held up great. it was nice and crispy and did not need to be eaten with a fork. I posted the link above.

  • LOL I'm the same way :) I will have a glass of water with my meal but forget to take any sips until I'm done.
  • Me too. Fill a pool up and dive right in. I have not yet found a method of preparing avocado that I have not liked. I am going to try Avocado chocolate pudding today (if i have time).

  • I prefer caged. I find the suffering of the chickens really add to the flavor of the meat and eggs!
  • just be careful. too many sugar alcohols also have a laxative effect.
  • there are recipes for Avocado Chocolate pudding that look amazing. I have yet to try them, but I plan on it in the next couple of days. They are basically avocado, coconut Milk(or almond milk, or heavy cream) some splenda or stevia, and cocoa powder. Mix together and enjoy.
  • this. Exactly :) Jr. bacon cheeseburger and a side salad with avocado ranch. or 2 pc. grilled with green beans! My go-to fast food meals if i am stuck out and about.
  • I am still in induction, but when I allow myself a treat, I do a pickle spear with crunchy peanut butter on it :) My other favorite easy snack is meat/cheese rolls. I'll mix and match to keep it interesting. Turkey with pepper jack might be my favorite though.
  • I find if i broil them in a pan on both sides until they are golden brown, I can finish them off in the oven in less time and the results are much juicier and flavorful.
  • This! I have family members that worship Dr. Mercola, and some of the ridiculous crap i hear coming from their mouths is astonishing. I had no respect for him as a Doctor way before i read those articles posted above.
  • Expanding on that thought; ANY diet is an attempt to restrict certain aspects of your existing diet, whether it is removing a type of food or restricting the amount of food, and is therefore also, by definition, limiting.
