  • The screaming counts as cardio.
  • 1. Make passionate love under a brilliant Peruvian sunset with someone you will never speak to again. 2. Scream into the void for exactly seven minutes, then follow with a fresh smoothie seasoned with your own tears. 3. Rotate your mattress in tune with the phases of the moon. 4. Drive a full size excavator directly into…
  • I guess I am less concerned about looks as I am about function. I'm still on the lookout for a good bag. In my experience the girly ones tend to be made more cheaply because they're seen as trendy pieces rather than made to last. I had a purple nike bag that would've been a nice size but it was... padded, somehow? Which…
  • Yeah, I know I gained too much with him, but he was over 11 lbs. No GD or anything, just a big ol' baby. I should've taken better care of myself but the first year after he was born I had so many health issues, I was mentally and emotionally just wrung out. It was harder than I thought and I didn't really set myself up to…
  • I didn't have a c/s but still have the flap. Lucky f-ing me. My skin just is really prone to not being very elastic and carrying a huge child stretched me out. It's just the luck of the draw. And I had a so-called medical professional try and caution me into a c/s because my hips were too wide. Go figure that one. You…
  • Logging certain things in advance has been a really great choice for me. I typically have one of about three things for breakfast, so the night before I just prep it (overnight oats) or don't (in which case I'll have the two other things I cook in the morning) and then when i'm hungry and not yet caffeinated I can make…
  • The best advice I can give is to start slow, and work with what you know and the resources available to you. If you work a long (sitting) shift, then drive (sitting) home and proceed to rest while sitting, try incorporating a walk into your workday, or better yet two walks, just ten minutes around the block or around your…
  • Maybe you could make your diary visible so people could offer some more specific advice and suggestions? Since I can't see it, I can only offer general advice. Start by talking to your doctor and getting accurate starting numbers Input your Height, Weight, and Age into one of the many TDEE calculators, like Fitness Frog's,…
  • You need to go see a doctor, sometimes the sudden appearance of a red or dark spot like this, especially one that shows up this vivid in a photo—can be a very bad sign. Best to go get checked out asap.
  • If you make your diary visible, that might make it easier to figure out what's going on... Likely as not, you are either underestimating your caloric intake or overestimating what you're burning via exercise.
  • I'm overweight, in the process of changing that by eating less and lifting heavy, and if I catch someone gawking at me at the gym I give zero ****s because I just remind myself that I can crush their skull between my thighs. Thankfully, my local gym is super great and there's all types of bodies working just as hard in…
  • I'm going to be a politely blunt as I possibly can: You need to decide whether your picky eating and other bad habits are worth more to you than your health. Those are not things outside of your control, they are decisions that you have made and rationalizations you use to justify them to yourself. You have a lot of…
  • 1. Brand's less important than fit, quality, and price. 2. I don't tend to wear things I either can't afford, or things with tons of loud logos all over. 3. Jeans, cute blouse, cardigan, long necklace, flats. 4. My style is basically nerdy-hot librarian. 5. Pinup, vintage. There's lots of things I wish i could wear, but…
  • I also really enjoyed this book. From what it sounds like, dairy may be an issue for her. An infant probiotic and some good healthy eating may reduce her discomfort, and for us too that was a diet rich in good fats, meats, leafy greens... Now, you're also getting into the age where they start to really have preferences for…
  • So does she own the house you both live in, or do you? And what does your partner think of this behavior?
  • The last bra I bought was around $50 bucks. It was on sale, from a great company, and has lasted me a long time. Longer than poorly-made bras, anyway. I have a moderately large size and what I've found is that anything that is an outlier on the size range—both on the larger end as well as on the smaller—is more expensive…
  • If breakfast makes you gag, then don't eat it. It's your body's way of telling you it's not ready for that yet. If it's just breakfast foods that do it—eggs, toast, etc—then consider eating other things for breakfast. But if it's anything before a certain time of day, then don't worry about it. Studies about skipping…
  • I genuinely do not care what anybody wears to swim in, provided they actually swim and not just do the old-lady-bounce up and down an entire lane. Honestly, wear a tutu and a scuba mask, just ****ing swim already. RANT OVER lol.
  • Some things that helped me when I was in that lovely, lovely part of pregnancy (ha!) - Morning Wellness Tea - or any kind of safe herbal tea, like ginger tea, chamomile, peppermint. You can drink these hot, warm, or iced to get your fluids in, and also they help with morning sickness. - Gin-gins candy, either the chewable…
  • The issue here is not one of food or discipline, it's about respect. Either he respects you enough to assist you in your diet choices, or he doesn't. And while you are ultimately the only person responsible for what goes into your body, a man who bullies you, mocks you, guilts you, or throws stones in your path is not…
  • Your wife has a right to feel unappreciated and undervalued if you flat-out won't eat the things she makes; we all have the right to feel the way we feel, but that doesn't make it sane and logical. To me, when someone makes something and then tells me, after the fact, after I've eaten it, that it has more calories/items I…
  • Anything that's advertised as "BIBLICAL WISDOM MEETS MODERN SCIENCE!" makes me go Just eat reasonably, watch portions, move around a bit, and be happy. You don't need a book to tell you that.
  • I tried 'no-poo' religiously for 8 months and ended up with serious scalp problems and needing to cut off six inches from my hair, it was so ruined. And I happen to be one of those people who does, in fact, need deodorants and antiperspirants. I wish I could use "natural" products, but they just absolutely do not work with…
  • Oh wow, that dungeon setup... makes me wish I knew you IRL. I've always wanted to play, but never have. Most of my friends are online, and I play a lot of other types of games, but I don't know anybody locally! Sadness.
  • That is a huge milestone and you should be really proud of yourself. Nice job! Edit - putting in a nice word for the HTC One. ;) lol.
  • I am the complete opposite. Treadmill running is much more challenging for me, because I have dreadful balance and long legs and (whether it's all in my head or not) I feel so precarious on one. On the ground, I can adjust my body just the way I need it. They feel very claustrophobic to me.
  • Battles about food are very, very rarely *really* about the food. They're about control, or fear, or any number of other root emotions. If you tell your husband: "Honey, my health and this new way of eating is important to me. If would help me out if you took your snacks to work where I can't see them." And he turns around…
  • I personally love date rolls, with coconut and chopped nuts. Yummers. H'ween is also my birthday, so I am a little bit lenient with myself. But in terms of what to hand out? If you don't feel good about buying candy, what about fruit snacks? There are some nice natural brands that, while still sugary and not paleo, are…
  • ...if you give serious thought as to how you can add "gift cards to U.S. Wellness Meats" to your christmas wish list...
  • The first time I started, about a year ago, was worse than this time. This time it was over in one or two days. I made sure to keep my good fats nice and high, and remain satiated all day, that helped. Watch your sugars, make sure you are getting good sources of salt and potassium, and enough water. :)
