Really? I am 100% of European descent and can't have dairy but rice is just fine. Your statement makes no sense.
-
I'm not arguing that at all. I am arguing your advice of a blanket 2000-500 equation applying to everyone. That's the dangerous advice you were spouting.

What are your macros set to, though? Just because you hit them doesn't mean they're right for what you need to feel satiated. When I don't get enough protein and fat in my diet I'm constantly craving junk. MFP had both of these set WAY too low for me, as an individual. Have you got it set to more than 1 lb a week? That may…

You can leave 15 minutes earlier and park/get off the bus farther away from work. 30 minutes walking per day right there. I actually bring my sneakers in on stormy days when I don't want to walk outside and put them on for my 15 minute breaks and use the back stairs. I have a timer set for every hour to get up to stretch…

OP, do you mean how do you know how much you should be eating for safe and sustainable weight loss? This is full of great info: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1

Wrong! Basics need to be applied individually to each person. If I netted 1500 calories a day I'd be a scarecrow, not to mention hormonally imbalanced. Please stop posting generic advice like this without knowing anything about the individual you're speaking to. It's dangerous.

Yup. Google body recomposition. It's awesome. :)

Check this out and start feeling proud of yourself: http://www.bodyrock.tv/weight-loss/takes-lose-pound-fat/ Also, as to your diary, unless you're diabetic you don't really need to track sugar. Maybe switch it up for sodium. There's a lot of McD's in your diary and that comes with a lot of salt and that will make you…

Me too. I came home from an all inclusive in JA last spring and logged a typical day there and it came to about 6000. I love love love pina coladas and jerk chicken! :)

Any cookies you enjoy that much are so good the calories you burn enjoying them leave you in a deficit. True science. Eat away.

It's AMAZING on sweet potatoes, and it's my go to for Thai cooking. Like said above, other than being better for you than some other oils, it has no magical properties. (It is, however, my preferred makeup remover and hair oil. )

Everybody will lose 2-3 pounds in the first few days of a diet. Your glycogen levels drop and your body flushes out the water that glycogen was stored in. Hence the term "water weight" - that's not fat loss. As to losing 30 lbs in six weeks, that can be dangerously unhealthy and obviously not something you've been able to…

Sorry...stupid busy week! Check out Chocolate Covered Katie for some recipes. I love her site. There are some good ones here, too: http://greatist.com/eat/diy-energy-protein-bar-recipes

I'm an admin assistant, so technically I have a desk job. However, one of the lawyers I work for is on another floor and I routinely log 8-10K steps before I leave for the day. I've lost 95 lbs setting it at lightly active. Setting it to sedentary would mean my deficit would be bordering on the unhealthy.
-
No stay at home mom is sedentary! lol Try setting it to lightly active and monitor your loss over a few weeks. If it's too fast, reset it to moderately active and enjoy the extra calories. (Losing weight too fast means you're likely losing lean muscle and not only fat - not good!) Also, MFP is designed for you to eat back…

I figured out my TDEE (you can google online calculators - I find Scooby's gets the closest for me) and ate 10% less than that - around 2250 cals/day - eating whatever I want as long as I get my veg & fruit, etc., first. Life without wine and chocolate is worthless, in my opinion. :) 40 minutes of bodyweight exercise (with…

This is the most frustrating thing on MFP. People say they come here to learn how to get fit and be healthy, but they don't want to listen to the folks who have actually put in the work and made it happen. Quick fixes don't work longterm, here or anywhere else, period. Someone told me this a long time ago, and I think it's…

Lemon in your water can add electrolytes to your system, so it's better for you than rehydrating with sugary energy drinks, but for most of us plain water is all we need. Otherwise that and the rest are just flavourings.

All of this is true. I've rarely eaten breakfast since my mom stopped forcing me to in high school, but I still got fat because I ate too much. It's CICO.

Nuts, fruits and veg, string cheese, instant oatmeals, tuna pouches, homemade protein or energy bars (cheaper and yummier). I love Ozery's pita /breakfast rounds with peanut butter. If you get an insulated bag, bring precooked meats and yogurts and cottage cheese. Hope this helps!

Desperation? Laziness? Dr. Oz? All bad things, IMO...
-
The human capacity for guilt, perhaps? I'm in the "no bad foods" camp. With a mainly healthy diet, everything can be enjoyed. Some things just need to be enjoyed in moderation.

The venison chili I made last night (about 10 servings): 12 oz, venison steak 1 tbsp. EVOO (or you could use a few slices of bacon and fry those up, using the fat to brown the meat) 1 cup diced white onion 1 large clove garlic 0.75 cup chopped green pepper chili spices to taste - chili powder, cumin, coriander (or use a…

It's like losing my best friend from high school. No words.

I prefer to read an old fashioned book over a Kindle, etc., as well. However, here on MFP we use MFP for what your asking for. Either ask at your local library and see if they can recommended a book. Or you can Google it. :)
-
MFP math is my favorite! :)

Nobody is being a jerk. You didn't give all the info in your OP and they're just pointing it out. Full stop. With over 3800 posts, you know a little something about how these forums work, yeah?
-
Yes, calories in vs calories out. However, fast food is usually loaded with sodium, so water retention could be a factor. Also, with your stats, I second the suggestion to look at body recomposition. This is an awesome thread:…
