I know someone over 60 years old who uses cheap laxatives daily because she's too lazy to watch what she eats and exercise. She has a myriad of health problems stemming from the fact that she's had an eating disorder since she was OP's age that has similar tendencies to anorexia. OP, stop searching from pro-ED people and…

Men seem to prefer women with self esteem and confidence. Unfortunately, by posting this thread, you seem to be lacking both. Not trying to be mean...just real.

How long have you been stalled at the same weight? If less than a month, then it is not a plataeu and you just need to have some patience as weight loss is not linear. If it has been 4-6 weeks, make sure you are weighing and measuring all your food and accurately logging it all. This is usually the cause for a stall…

This. If if fits your calorie and macro goals, then go for it. But, will it keep you satiated everyday like a meal you have to chew? Some people do great on shakes or whatever for meals for a little while, then get hungry, and then start to chew lots of food because they were just hungry and ignored it for the sake of…

circuit class =/= strength training Circuit classes are basically just cardio workouts that use weights. By strength training, people mean get up under a barbell and push or pull the weight. Put it down. Rest. Do it again. Definitely a stark difference from a fast paced class. I agree that you are not planning on eating…

Hey, all you bread haters!!! Send me ALL of your leftover/uneaten breads, pasta, and rice IMMEDIATELY. I don't have a gluten allergy (or any other medical issue) and therefore show love to all foods available out there for me to eat, including the ones that attract water molecules in the system and scare people into…

Losing weight is dependant on the quantity of food, not the health quality of it. You can lose weight eating candy all day everyday if you eat under your TDEE. I wouldn't recommend it though... As for the OP: Onions. They are just nasty! I refuse to have them in anything.

Nobody breaks the laws of thermodynamics. The people who never have to count calories are still eating at or under their TDEE. The "obesity gene" is yet another excuse people use to not lose the weight. And yes...I need some popcorn as I sit back and watch.

Generally speaking, it is the intensity of the workout and not necessarily the duration that determines the calorie burn. For example, you burn approximately the same amount of calories in a one mile walk as you do a one mile run, but because it takes longer to do the walk than the run, you can run more miles in the same…

Hello everyone! This is my week before "TOM" so I don't expect this week or next week's weigh-in to be anywhere near stellar, lol. Water fluctuations are annoying, to say the least. Anyway... CW: 135 GW (for challenge): 127 My final goal weight is probably somewhere between 120-125 since I am going for a body fat % of 16,…

And my point was that my palette has not changed, mainly because I didn't change all my foods. Restating someone else's point over and over again doesn't mean that I didn't have one to begin with simply because it is a different viewpoint than yours.

LOL, that and NROLW get recommended in nearly every lifting thread. There's nothing wrong with either program and actually they are great programs...but I get where you are coming from by posting this.

I have gone from 191 pounds down to 133 pounds by continuing to eat my favorite foods. I will always love Reese's, pizza, etc. and I will continue to eat them. Most of my calories come from fruits, veggies, lean meats, etc. but once my macros are met, I don't deprive myself of delicious foods if I need more calories. So,…

I typically make omeletes with 4 egg whites and 1 whole egg simply because I need to get the protein from the egg without a lot of extra calories. I eat omeletes with 3 whole eggs when I am not on a deficit trying to watch my calories. Nothing wrong with the yolk, just saving calories for other things.
-
This. You won't add much muscle at all in a deficit anyway, whether male or female, and it will stop after you get your "newbie gains." Lately I have had the most success on Wendler's 5/3/1. I also like Tom Venuto's TNB workout, but I modified it a little from the way it is written.

This was my first thought, too. Then I saw that you are very active with your daily exercise, yet you insist on eating just 1200 calories a day. I eat more than that when I am being a lazy azz and not exercising. This week, for example, I average closer to 1400 calories but I haven't done any exercise at all. Are you sure…

I honestly hope the people giving you exercise advice realize that fat loss is a function of a calorie deficit, not exercise, and that you can't spot reduce, and that they are just giving advice on fun exercises that can strengthen the muscles in the butt and thighs. :flowerforyou:

I tried going to your profile to get the whole story, but without being friends on here, nobody will be able to see the reasons you fast because of your chosen privacy levels... Do you have other medical issues that could hinder your weight loss efforts? Are you carefully weighing and measuring your food on the days you…

This is EXACTLY why I chose to turn down the job offer I got from Papa John's Pizza when I was working through my college years. I feel for you ladies, and I wish I had advice for you. I just knew that I would become obese in less than 2 months working around cheese and pepperoni all day. I can imagine who cakes would be…

I would like to lose those 8 pounds by New Year's. That's exactly what I need to lose to be at my goal weight. (Technically I am going by body fat %, but I found a calculator that estimates that I will weigh 125 at my goal bf% of 16%). I already use the TDEE method and find it much easier to do and easier to stick with…

I'm going on a cruise in October-Nov this year, and I plan on going as a size 4 and weighing under 130 pounds. That's slightly less than 1 pound per week loss, but I am determined to get it done!

Sounds awesome! You should join The Cheesecake Group for more recipes. I love cheesecake!

     I was going to say something along the lines of "I hate both teams and hope it's a draw" but this response is priceless.

It wouldn't be so funny as it is to me if I didn't have a cat that size.

You wouldn't believe the volume of dumb a**ed calls that go through while someone with a real emergency is trying to call. People call for ANYTHING making the jobs of the dispatchers, fire, police, and medics that much more difficult, but stupid people think it's funny. It's certainly NOT funny when you need our services…
-
I don't call 911, I get dispatched to the places where 911 is called about along with the FD and paramedics. Of course, I get there first because FD and medics like to "stage" because they are skeered of hoodlums in the area I patrol, but that's beside the point.

My goal is about 125 pounds. I'm 5'5" tall. I chose that number (which is quite flexible, actually) because that is what most calculators estimate that I will personally weigh when I get to my actual goal of 16% body fat. I'm about 8 pounds from that goal right now, so I'll have my body fat tested again when I get to 125…
-
Definitely not what I thought this thread was about... But I agree that you should lift weights while dropping the fat. You will look awesome afterwards and won't have to back track when you get to a goal weight but can't lift more than 10 pounds.

Fat loss is a function of a calorie deficit, not how much cardio you do. I would personally recommend dialing in your nutrition so that you are in a moderate calorie deficit, and do your strength training now. A lot of people lose a lot of fat without doing ANY cardio. I've lost most of mine this year by weight training…
