Not necessarily true. You can easily go over your calories by eating too much fruit, and this will cause you to gain weight. It's just that sugar gets blamed for the gain, when it really was the over consumption of total calories.

I'm surprised that the author finds it "shocking" that there's a lot of vegetables on this list of low calorie foods.

Calorie deficit for weight loss. Nutrient makeup for health. That said, eat your Snickers. It won't hurt your weight loss if you are still in a deficit. If there's another reason you don't want to have it...like you're diabetic...then don't eat the Snickers. Like I said in another one of your threads OP, don't…
-
No you're not. I never workout in a fasted state. I actually exercise about an hour before going to sleep which is after I eat all 1800 or so of my calories.
-
Eating 140g of protein per day will NOT adversely effect your kidneys or liver. You don't need to worry about that at all.
-
I think it is always best to eat as much as you possibly can while still ending up in a calorie deficit causing weight loss. That way if things slow down later on, you can easily cut more calories without worrying about "am I eating enough?" That said, do you know what your maintenance level is right now? I would determine…

I measure my "official" waist measurement at the narrowest point like you do. When I am measuring for jeans, I tend to measure lower than that, usually around the navel or slightly below that, because I tend to wear low rise jeans. If I bought jeans according to my "official" waist measurment, they wouldn't fit properly.

The extra calories burned when exercising fasted is negligible. Just do what's more comfortable to you and what you will stick with doing. If it happens to be fasted cardio, so be it. If not, then no biggie. Exercising is what's important, not when you do it. Don't overcomplicate things.

Congrats on your weight loss! :flowerforyou: ...And in before the eat less crowd jumps in to do battle with the eat more crowd.

Yes it is. It is glorified protein powder mixed with pulverized vegetable, fruit, and root parts so it has magical abilities such as "never get sick again" like all the pseudo-coaches in Carl Daikeler's world. ETA: I am not joking, a "coach" actually tried to tell me that he "never gets sick" because of Shakeology. Sure,…

Unless you ate a surplus of 10,500 calories over your TDEE, it isn't fat you gained. I bet the majority of it is water retention which will easily be lost. There's no reason to punish yourself, just get back to doing what you were doing before to be successful.

Shakeology from Beachbody. If you are using protein shakes that you enjoy the taste of, and they don't cost an arm and a leg, stick with those. :flowerforyou:
-
Yup, yours is a lot cheaper. For Shakeology, you'd need 2 orders to get 58 servings, and you'd be spending $240 to get it. But then you'd still have to buy the milk, peanut butter, etc. that you add to it to make it taste better. Shake-O is insanely expensive for what it is!
-
I bet your powder is cheaper than shakeology, though. People shell out close to $120 per bag of this stuff when you can easily get the same nutrition from other choices without spending so much money.

It is implied when you type "ANY LIFE." Are you really going to nitpick like this? SMH

I only use my HRM for cardio workouts. It's not accurate for anything else.

You actually burn more calories while you are sleeping than you do exercising. I usually burn around 800 calories while sleeping, but only 300 in an exercise session. It does NOT matter *when* you eat your calories as long as you are in a deficit for the day under your TDEE. The calorie deficit is what matters, not when…

It's a good thing he doesn't get on this website, but this problem actually describes my husband and what he calls his "big ol' booty." If he were to buy pants in a 34 waist which would perfectly fit his waist, they would squeeze the daylights out of his rear end. He actually wears 38 pants and draws them in with a belt on…

I find that sometimes having a small meal or snack right before I go to bed helps me sleep. And I have been consistently losing weight, def. not gaining.

I didn't realize that people did think meat was essential. Obviously it is the protein within the meat that is essential. Some of us just prefer to eat that meat instead of bowls of lentils and beans to get protein. I am intrigued by this "eggplant bacon," though. I would try it, just for sh!ts and giggles. I tried that…

This is not true for everyone. While this diet may be great for you and others, people like me who have hereditary hypoglycemia would be ill advised to do this. I'm not bashing the diet, I agree, it does work for people who follow it. I just dislike blanket statements that it would be great for anyone. You don't want to…

Why not just eat real food that tastes good, gives you your nutrition, and doesn't cost over $100 per bag?

The responses in this thread simply take it to a place I don't think the OP meant...when I read the first post, it sounded like she was simply complaining about women who have had years of normal periods and yet still get confused at the water retention and cravings that inevitably follow and is exasperated at the fact…

This. People don't seem to understand that cutting carbs cuts calories which is the reason you lose weight. The difference is, at first when you cut carbs, you are losing a lot of water weight so you seem to believe that you are losing fat faster, when you are only losing scale weight faster. But once that levels out, you…

My husband is 6 years younger than I am. My previous 3 boyfriends before getting married were younger. I'd rather have a man that isn't so damn serious and mature all the time, because I'm not either. :flowerforyou:

My diary is everything I eat from the time I wake up until the time I go back to sleep. I am not ruled by the clock.

You didn't lose some huge amount of muscle. The BIA scale is inaccurate. It's only been a week and a half, so unless you surgically removed muscle, it's still there. Just go by your measurements. Make sure your deficit isn't too high, and if you are really worried about it, incorporate weight training.

OP, have you considered eating closer to your maintenance and going for a body recomp? I would think that would get you to your goal more than dieting down would.
