Eating at BMR (which is always above 1200) is the healthiest option for weight loss. A lot of people do 1200 calorie diets regardless of their gender, height, weight, etc., but it's not the healthiest option. I used to eat 1300 then realized I literally had NO energy for all my workouts. when I began eating more, I started…

I'm with firstsip's response. At 5'0" and now I'm 25 AND have had a baby, my body is still constantly changing. I haven't gotten the wider hips as most moms do (I'm assuming because of my age?) but even at the weight i'm at now (118) my body looks different than when I was 118 when I was younger. 100lb is not necessarily…

I don't judge your wanting others (other than your husband) to acknowledge your awesome success, but to that I can't relate. In all honesty, while this was for me (because I have a horrible-horrible-horrible insecurity issue) it was also for my husband and I could care less if anyone else wants to acknowledge it. The fact…

I echo everyone else -- your marriage is way more important, you need to run to a new (female) trainer ASAP. To make it less awkward, perhaps join a different gym so that it's not so obvious when you get a female trainer. I wouldn't really approach the topic with your current trainer, other than just say you're joining a…

I'm not pointing fingers, and I actually adore my MIL and FIL, but I do think that (and I could be wrong, so no one attack me!) parents teach their sons how to properly court and woo a girl. My husband was, and still admits to being, clueless on how to romance me. He wants to very badly, and sometimes I even spell it out…

Wow! We're almost the same :) I'm 5'0", started at 137 here on MFP and am now 118 (goal is 110-115). I met my husband at a 125lb weight that fluctuated to 130. I had our daughter in 2009 and gained 25lbs during pregnancy, so my HW was 155 (that was when she was still in me though) and I lost down to 135ish when she was out…

I'd wager it's based on the fact that you're less likely to do boredom snacking, mindless snacking (in front of a soap opera/day time show), and you're moving. My house isn't spotless, but it's always been very tidy and clean and I was still chubby.

I giggled out of empathy. Okay maybe not empathy, my husband hasn't done something that bad yet but we've only been married 5 years.. he still has time. To the OP -- I think it's clear: Take initiative. Most girls hate having to come up with the reservations, the hotel, the location, the entertainment, the way to dress,…

I vote for homemade tzatziki sauce. My almost 3-year-old won't use ketchup, mustard or mayo. She will only eat tzatziki and i can't blame her.. its' divine.

I think married people start to gain weight because they're happy and comfortable with each other. In our case, I began to do a lot of home cooking and wasn't afraid to use butter and oil ;-) I think it's still important to try to be the best you can for your husband/wife, I do disagree that husbands/wives stop trying to…

Which DVD is it? I see different ones by GoFit supposedly, and a Bob Harper one for 54 minutes?

These are very helpful responses! Thanks you guys. It sounds like I should go visit my regular doctor and see what he has to say or recommend. I do notice some slight chest pressure when I get above 176 if I stay at that rate too long. That's what caused my concern.

Thanks :)

I don't believe there is a way to see only one gender's posts and what not. I'm not sure how many MFP friends you have, but you could try accumulating like-minded like-goaled men to share your journey with. I've done that with women only on my profile and it is easier that way.

Oh for goodness sakes! Why are people so cruel sometimes? Ignore it. It doesn't mean anything. If you're overweight, you already know it but you're doing something about it. They'll take years before changing their personalities and manners. Maybe even never. I don't know if anyone has said anything rude about me running.…

LOL I know. I had chicken on rice with veggies on the side once and I found out it was 1,500 calories. No joke! (That's why we don't eat out anymore hahaha) Just because vegetables are on the dish doesn't make it healthy :) It's amazing how quickly it can all add up!

You obviously want to do it and that's all there is to it. You've heard this before... there is no magic formula, pill, or exercise. One day you need to wake up, work out for 30-60 minutes, and eat right. You know what's bad for you. Fried, take out, pizza, alcohol, anything with "batter" on it, butter, too much bread, too…

I won't bother reading through all the pages of comments, but for anyone wanting a lifestyle change and not just to lose weight they would probably be interested in the information she posted. Pop is not natural, plain and simple. The healthiest thing for your body is ... water. Gasp.
