  • I eat the same breakfast every day pretty much because I love it, but I have steel cut oats, 1 tbs of peanut butter, and a banana. That gets me 12 grams of protein.
  • I think the idea is that protein helps keep you full longer. At least it certainly does for me! If I eat oatmeal for breakfast I'm hungry in an hour or two. Oatmeal and peanut butter - I'm full for much longer. I try to have protein at every meal/snack.
  • Oh my I love oatmeal. I usually make steel cut oats in a crock pot so that I have enough for the week. I THINK it says on the container that it's 1/4 cup dry for a serving (I just know it's one scoop). I add that, water, and some cinnamon and let it cook. Then I divy it up into individual dishes and every morning I…

  • I WISH that were true about grapefruits and almonds! I eat grapefruit almost daily but it's not because of a diet fad. I love it with yogurt and it is always on sale at our local Amish grocery store. Almonds I love but almost always eat them in 1/2 serving increments. I do believe that calories as a whole are not created…
  • I have a similar but opposite problem as you with the WW vs Calories. On mfp I always eat my daily net calories (around 1400). But because the majority of my diet is fruits and veggies I never get anywhere close to the 32 points I get a day for maintenance. I just don't think the programs mix well. I actuall do think that…
  • You have gotten some helpful advice here - just try out different things and see what works for you. As for needing water/not needing water - do what works for you - not what works for someone else. I personally do not take water on runs less than eight miles. I barely drink anything even on longer runs, so I might be ok.…
  • I agree with others who say just go out, do your best and have fun! I find treadmill and road running to be extremely different, but as to which is easier/harder - that depends on the person. I run much better on the road b/c that's where I have always trained. My friend has always run on a treadmill so that's easier for…
  • Some of my personal favorites: Greek yogurt with fruit Almonds and a piece of fruit Carrotts with laughing cow cheese wedge (sometimes I add salsa too) Peanut butter and apple
  • As this board proves if you ask five people you might very well get five different answers on what they "KNOW" is right. I say whatever works for you. I am not trying to lose weight - just maintain. I'm just under 5'3" and 104-105 lbs, so this works for me, but not necessarily for others. I typically eat breakfast 200-300…
  • My grocery list is always strange b/c my husband and I eat very different foods. He's 39 years old, and I doubt he's going to change his ways, so we just make do. I do not cook him a special meal at dinner, so he gets what I make, but for the nights we won't be able to have dinner together (meetings or whatever) he eats…
  • I think it sounds about right. I used to be able to spend a lot less, but right now we are spending an average of 100.00/week for two adults and a toddler. I buy a TON of fresh fruit and veggies, so that does add up, and I buy organic milk for my son, and organic Greek yogurt (and lots of it) for all of us. I think a lot…
  • I agree with you for the most part. I personally do choose to eat few processed foods, and the majority of my diet is fruits and veggies. But that's because I love them. My motto (for me personally) is garbage in = garbage out. If I eat a lot of processed stuff and/or if I go out to eat a lot - I feel and look awful. But…
  • I think there are people out there who really are too busy, and people out there that just have different priorities. For me - I work full time 8-5:30. Then I come home, make dinner, hang with my son, and pick up until he goes to bed. Then I study for my CFA until 11:00, and then I get ready for bed/go to bed at 11:30.…
  • I'm just under 5'3" and I lost about 25 lbs. I don't have any pictures on here, but I will try to get some. I'm not currently trying to lose any weight but I actually lost the 25 through WW and doing a lot of running. It took me maybe five months? I am still a lifetime member of WW, but I actually prefer this website and…
