  • Hello! I'm new to this board, but it seems extremely friendly and could be helpful. Name: Stephanie Age: 38 Height: 5'3" Total Weight lost: 24 lbs Time it took to lose: 7 Months How long in maintenance: 2 Months Maintenance weight range: 110-115 I'm getting these off of MFP, but I wasn't weighing regularly until August…
  • I use the plantoeat.com website. I check to see what I have in the house, search for recipes including those foods, and plan the week using their database. Then it makes a shopping list for me, and I typically stick to that.
  • I think of it more as clothing sizes changing. Clothing that should be a size 8/10 being labeled as a 2, really isn't helping anyone in my opinion.
  • I go over in my fats every single day - right now I just ignore what MFP says I should eat. I find that I feel better when I eat them, but I've never been one to do low fat or fat free foods. Most of my fat comes from olives, unsweetened coconut, peanut or almond butter, olive oil, and a few other foods. Black olives are…

  • I eat chocolate quite often. I get the 86% dark chocolate Guiradelli bar. Then I freeze it and eat one square at a time, which is around 80 calories (a bit more).
  • I am far from having it all figured out, but do my best. I meal plan and organize all of our dinners and lunches on Sunday (right now only have to prep my lunch - when school starts back up I will do my sons as well. The daycare feeds them lunch otherwise). That helps me to avoid junk food or unplanned going out to eat. As…
  • Oh my gosh I could not survive on three hours of sleep. Particularly not if I had to then be nice to people :)
  • My weight loss the first time seemed effortless compared to how it is now, but I was running all the time and racing at least once a month. But I've gained weight since then. Not a ton - I'm not back to where I was, but after having surgery on my neck/spine, I wasn't able to run and some of the weight came back. And I'm…
  • I can see why suddenly having to wait for machines is annoying, but other than that I'm not sure why people care that new faces are joining. And I'll agree with those that said - starting in December or January doesn't necessarily mean you will quit. So many good reasons have been posted already. For me - in the spring,…
  • Most of your things I totally agree with. As far as the skinny person thinking they are "obese" - I can see your point but also think it's all relative. I've honestly never been overweight on a chart, though I've come close. But my high weight IS "fat" to me (for me). Your stats are completely amazing, and I don't diminish…
  • THIS! I honestly almost "corrected" something I was writing because I thought it didn't look right!
  • I think it can go either way. In my profile picture I did weight training and running and my results were smaller than 95% of US women in my age group and 82% of the World in my age group. Even now at my "heavy" weight since I had surgery and haven't worked out as much I'm coming up as smaller than 91% US and 72% World.…
  • Hello! I'm new as well. I'm not "new" to clean eating, but I really want to have that be the majority of our foods. Tough with a super picky husband, but I'm hoping to learn and find more ways. I'm a huge fan of the 100 days of real food website, and I'm looking forward to getting more information here!
  • Hello! I overate Saturday night for absolutely no reason and was so disgusted with myself. But back on track Sunday, so it's fine. As usual the week is a bit crazy, with the added craziness of church all week but here is my tentative plan: M: Run 5 miles T: Have a meeting at 6:00, so likely I will do either 30 minutes on…
  • My week was terrible as far as getting in exercise. I walked at least 30 minutes on my tm each day but I didn't even get in my 10,000 steps each day. Wednesday I ran four miles, but other than that I'm having a hard time even remembering. Ug. No wonder I feel like a slug today.
  • Isn't that when PMS is? I know for me any and all hormonal issues will be BEFORE my period. Once it arrives I'm usually ok. But obviously that's just me, and I know others struggle more during. For me it's always PRE menstrual (usually two days before).
  • Ha - that's disgusting and I really do feel bad for you. But I laughed a little just reading it. I was thinking the same kind of thing for my poor sister - no WAY a tbs. Now me? Yeah I could go with one light tampon an entire day if I had to. I'm lucky though (with that part of it).
  • I personally get extremely binge-y during PMS. I don't typically give in to it, but it's like an uncontrollable need to eat. And I do NOT have normal cycles, so it's not like I'm just expecting it. I never know when that TOM is coming except that I sometimes get a massive migraine and I get this ridiculous hunger where I…
  • I'm glad you are loving MFP! I also agree that there are a lot of things on this site I enjoy more than WW. Though I know you said you did it for a few years, I'm not sure you fully understood the program. There was no reason to eat ALL your weekly points in one day, and therefore feel guilty when you went over points the…
  • My parents never did this, but I know what you are saying is the reason I refuse to make my son clean his plate. I have a "You have to try 1 bite of everything" rule. I don't think the "clean plate club" is a great thing, and I do think it teaches to overeat. Glad you are taking control now though!
  • Oh my gosh I just looked at the website. I give you all a lot of credit - I definitely would not be happy on that diet. I do think a lot of it makes sense though! I'm interested to hear how it goes for people and whether it is something you can maintain long term.
  • I will say I love the Lean Cuisine spring rolls, and I have them once every two - three weeks as a part of my "fun" dinner. Typically though I personally don't think they are doing you any favors. I'm biased though b/c I do prefer to make a lot of my food at home. What I do is cook ahead and freeze and then I always have…
  • I'm 106 lbs and 5'3" and I can still say weekends are tougher. Not really sure why someone who is smaller doesn't have the right to admit that it's not easy. I am thin b/c I'm typically careful about how I eat. I have treats, but you better believe they were planned for and the workout has been done 95% of the time.…
  • I do mostly yogurt and fruit. Usually once a week I do popcorn. The other night I wanted something sweet and different and I took two caramel rice cakes, some pb2, 1/2 a very over ripe banana (pb2 on the rice cakes, banana sliced on top) and baked it for a bit. Then I topped with 1 tbs ff cool whip. That is very non normal…
  • Well since my friend brought it up and then I saw the thread on here - now I'm craving Peanut Butter Captain Crunch!
  • I never realized Trix had ever been shaped! And somehow Cookie Crisp escaped my list - that stuff was amazing. And on corn pops - yup my son eats them still (as does dh), so they definitely still make them.
  • Absolutely bizarre, but I was just thinking about this before I came on here. Peanut Butter Captain Crunch. Oh my gosh. I can't even have it in the house now (or any fun cereal really) or I'll just keep eating it.
  • I do always plan in advance, but Fridays are always leftover days. I'm so not excited about my dinner. But I'm having roasted veggies, soba noodles and black beans.
  • Leftovers "manwich" with turkey burger over rice. Carrots and grapefruit.
  • Still better than me - I learned in this thread!! (Well that didn't quote correctly - this was in response to the just learning about the scanner yesterday).
