My recommendation would be to start the lean phase again. Don't torture yourself though. If you don't enjoy it, find something you like better. The best workout for you is the one you will do. :)

Here is a novel concept: Pick a number - or let MFP do it for you, or Scooby or IPOARM or ........ Net that many calories for a month. Did your body change in the ways you want/expect it to? If yes, continue. If not, adjust calorie intake accordingly and reassess in another month.

42. I've been at this for 10 months now. 70 lbs gone.

Only super athletes could do these workouts without breaks. For those of us that are a little older ... well, we just have to do the best we can, modify exercises as needed and give it our best. Tomorrow is day 61 for me, and I'm down 20 lbs. I really enjoy the workouts and the fact that I get better every day.

I think Insanity is worth every penny. I broke a 3 month long plateau and lost 20 lbs and feel better than ever. Just completed Day 60.

This broke my 3 month long plateau. I was eating well below my BMR and it was effecting my ability to function in many ways. And I had stopped losing weight while still obese!! Unacceptable! Now I'm eating healthy, working out hard, feeling better than ever and the fat is falling off! U da Man, Dan!

I liked the Fitbit at first, but then my calories started double counting on MFP for a while and I didn't catch it until I had put a few lbs back on. Really, though, I'd have to say the only thing the Fitbit is all that good for is figuring out how to categorize your routine daily activities. Once you have established…

I wasn't losing much at first either, as my body adapted to the new routine. Now I'm in the final week of Insanity and on pace to lose 20 lbs total. The losses really kicked in gear when I upped my intake from 1900 to 2400 per day. (I'm a 6'3" male) The insanity program works if you put the effort in to it. Follow the…

Your "moderately active" modifier takes your exercise into account. You do not log exercise calories using this method. The purpose is that you eat 1600-1800 roughly per day. There is no net, really because everything you eat is still in the net since there are no deductions. Eat 1800 every day. Keep up your workouts to…

You should not rely on shoes to absorb impact/shock. Use proper form to land softly and protect your joints regardless of your choice of footwear.

I'll put in my vote for Vibram 5 fingers. I got them during Recovery week & I love them!

I plan on starting a week after I finish Insanity. About 3/17/13. I already invested in extra bands

In my opinion, your best bet is to let the routine activities of your day go uncounted, since you were probably doing those things when you gained the weight. Then use a HRM for your workouts to get accurate burns. and just log those. I have both, and found the fitbit somewhat useless after a while, as it was nearly the…
