  • So you motivated me to see how long it would take me to run/walk 5k ( I have done Week4, Day1) I did it in 38:24. Bear in mind I have an 11 week old baby.... I was really happy with that... Will continue with C25K and then next Sunday do the run/walk on my own and hopefully it will be shorter!! try it out, you may be…
  • eeekkkk I'm up to week 4 as well, although I'm following the couch to 10k program instead... Good for you for signing up, it will definitely push you... Sometimes, on my in between days I go out and time myself doing a 5k distance, walking/running as much as I can at any intervals. That way I'm only pushing myself as much…
  • I haven't read all the comments on this thread, so maybe I am repeating, but my husband works on genetic links to PCOS in one of the leading labs in Europe and I suffer from it as well so I have a fairly good understanding from a scientific approach and having been there... It seems that someone with PCOS, however much…
  • You are all right in that fruit is important, I could have lower calorie fruit etc. and in actual fact I haven't cut out fruit completely! Before using MFP, when I was attempting to lose weight, fruit and vegetable would be interchangeable in my eyes, I would grab whichever tickled my fancy, because both of them are "free"…
  • I find when I go to gym when I'm tired, they are my best workouts...!! Maybe because I work much harder, knowing I might "give in" to the tiredness... I also find myself buzzing when I leave so if I am tired and have a lot to do I make sure I go do some exercise...
  • loll!!!!! probably!!!!!!
  • lets be friends.... my first goal is 172 (pre preg weight)
  • I have tried it, but found it much more difficult, not only because it doesn't fill you up but because I found it harder to log and also because I need to be in a "calorie counting framework" to actually lose weight, and when I eat lots of junk, I don't feel like I'm being careful, in which case I go over... I'm aware…
  • you currently weight 140 or you want to weight 140? Im 5'7, have two young children, I run... I just weigh 190 lol, slightly more than you  Feel free to add me... My goal weight is ur current weight...
  • lol I don't think I have a disordered way of thinking about food at all, as I said a few times, I didn't actually mean that I would never eat it again, or that crisps are better than fruit... Was merely shocked at how high it was as it is so healthy! My normal breakfast is about 240 calories, so to think that a fruit as a…
  • lol I wrote a more extreme version of this post... I bought a sharon fruit... weighed it... worked out to be 170 calories!!! I was in total shock... It has kind of put me off eating fruit seeing as I can get more value for my calories elsewhere... But yes, when I use vegetables, i weigh the veg, and then the "rubbish" and…
  • I haven't gone cold turkey, merely cut down to make room for other stuff... and for those people worrying about my bowels, i eat loads and loads of vegetables...
  • Haha, i like your thinking!! we all need some sodium in our diet, thats the salt, I'm sure someone will know how vinegar will help you out... Either way, I'm about to "close shop" for today, Im under my daily calorie allowance and I ate that damn sharon fruit!!! *should have bought crisps*
  • Lol, I think some of you took what I said a little too literally! Obviously fruit is better than crisps, obviously it is a choice you make, obviously crisps don't fill you up... I was just shocked that my healthy choice was so high in calories...
  • I know I am joining late and I may not get to 20lbs down but at least I'm trying... I need competition to get me to lose weight... SW - 190.4 (1/Nov) GW - (by Jan 1st) realistically, 175
  • as written above, I wasn't logging properly at all, primarily because of the baking!! Now that I'm doing this for real, logging will be complete.... Obviously its not an actual waste of calories, it is just so high and when you compare that to foods that are not as healthy, it can seem a waste... It was a bit tongue in…
  • It's a good question! I had a baby 10 weeks ago and after 6 weeks decided to start on here again. The problem was, I had a big function I had to bake for so although Iwas being healthy in the day, once I started baking, forget it.... The function was on Saturday, so yesterday, that was it, I can now do MFP for real... I…
  • Lol that's hilarious... I can't imagine! I'm not the biggest chocolate eater, give me savoury any day, but I love a good fresh cold fruit! But I am struggling to keep to calories at the moment so I need to use them as wisely as possible, and the fruit disappointed me lol
  • of course i log it when i eat, the problem I find is that psychologically my 170 calories on a piece of fruit could almost be a packet of salt and vinegar crisps..... yummmmmm ( ye i know macros etc)
  • i think its very easy to say "eat the same". In theory its the way to combat the weight gain, but in reality it is so so difficult!!! I'm such a controlled person yet steroids sends me totally off the rails... and I know many people who have said the same....
  • Have you ever taken PRedisnolone?
  • I have been on it on and off for years and I find the uncontrollable urges to eat very difficult to manage! Even when I know hat logically I don't need to eat because I have just eaten food that will sustain me there is a Cookie Monster that unleashes itself inside me and I MUST eat...!!!!! As soon as I come off it my…
  • mine is 9 weeks old and I'm trying to but feel like I'm hungry all the time.... wd love some motivation also i have 12lbs to lose but i look like I have much more... my hips and butt seem huge!! anyone else?
  • I suppose growing muscle... As in, toning and that type of thing... I'm just after a baby so I need to get back into shape... I'm doing c25k as well! Aiming for a half marathon next October
  • I don't think it's because I am trying to restrict too much, I'm just not keeping to the calories I should be eating! It doesn't help that we are making A kind of party to welcome her into the world and I haven't stopped baking for it... Maybe I should keep going as I am until that's over (next weekend) and then try…
  • r.lerneruk@gmail.com on fitbit and here....
  • I just posted a similar post saying that second time round seems so much harder and I;m unsure why... I don't have an answer except that when I weighed my food meticulously, and kept to the same types of foods, there was less margin for error and the weight came off easier and quicker.. Good luck xx
  • I too have an autoimmune condition and I'm not very good at listening to my body... I like to push as hard as I can, (and harder) which isn't a good idea, because then I crash and burn! However, it is possible.... I would say find out what exercises you can do, find a trainer who actually knows (I have used a physio in the…
  • Ok I will certainly take this all into consideration! Even as the weights increase now I can see it definitely takes me longer to recover then it did originally....
  • the thing with cos is that your body isn't as efficient at breaking down food! its as though you eat an extra chocolate bar a day for your body to burn. if you don't reduce your calories the weight cannot come off, its as simple as that! I would highly recommend logging every teeny tiny thing that goes in your mouth,…
