  • This isn't funny but it is a huge family drama that has made me very thankful for our smaller thanksgiving dinners since then. About 12 years ago, but it is the reason for my mom's side of the family no longer being invited to our Thanksgiving Dinner anymore. We usually have a large family dinner, but my mom wanted to have…
  • What kind of advice and how much are you looking to lose?
  • @ petersonabt 24 Edit: @ curvygirl76 32
  • DON'T GIVE UP! My mom didn't start trying to lose until she was in her 40s. She was ~325 (5'5") and lost over 100lbs, mostly through diet. My mom has had 3 back surgery's and can not effectively exercise. Skin shouldn't be your worry, it won't be as bad as you think, especially if you drink lots of water. Water will keep…
  • I wouldn't say that your husband isn't purposely sabotaging you as he went and got it after you went to bed. Nor would I say you are weak, you just need to think about it before you eat. That said you may want to discuss it with him. Tell him he doesn't have to stop, but if you want to eat what he got that he should hold…
  • I love the concept, but I'm curious how we will know you kept your end of the bargain?

  • I would take her to a doctor's office. Make sure there is no concern, then ask that the doctor write a letter to the school nurse and the negative impact of misdiagnosis such as this. I.E. poor self esteem, eating disorders etc that could be caused by doing this.
  • I will make large batches of things, divide into servings with acceptable calories and then freeze them. One thing I make in large batches is Beef and Veggie Soup, last batch I made was 20 servings at 440 calories each. This way when I can't figure out what I am going to have I can just pull on of those meals out to eat. I…
  • I didn't notice it with the protien shakes, It was my glucosamine/chondroitin supplements that did it for me.
  • I exercised in the morning, and saved my calories until dinner. I didn't do exact measurements but I feel they were very close, and something things I purposely over estimated. The end results? I barely went over what my calories are limited to, not including the calories I earned from the exercise I did. Then I weighed in…
  • My mom used to always tell me this If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they’re yours; if they don’t they never were. Give him space, if you are worried something else is going on in a week or two let him know if he needs someone to talk to that you are still there for him. Otherwise do not contact him. I…
  • Yes I will track everything. But I am lucky on a few points. 1) I am going to my parents for Thanksgiving and They have done the whole diet and weigh all the food in the past so I will be asking to use their scale for the food. 2) I know my mom's recipes and can a good idea what goes into her food. I will be guessing on a…
  • When i had gallbladder issues it was like this too! I was sick for 4 months before the doctors figured out what was wrong. They kept thinking it was appendicitis which can come on very fast and can be deadly. It sucks that it is today because most clinics aren't open but you should go see a doctor!
  • Check Groupon, if you are willing to go to a place not super close you can usually get a great deal because they want to get new members. I got one back in august 24 group fitness classes for $24.
  • I have been on MFP for awhile but only started racking my food in August. I only recently started posting on the forums and joining groups. I have been looking for great places to get encouragement for continuing my weight loss journey and just found this group. I grew up in Maple grove and Dayton, now I live in Fridley.
  • I'm 5'2.5" and I am aiming for 135 for my final goal weight, that said I still have a long way to go (~70 lbs) to get there and w could change my mind as I get closer. I would suggest looking at http://www.mybodygallery.com/ to see what you think over other people at that weight and height
  • I did it from May-Oct, and my husband started on it in January. He lost 50 lbs by the time I started which is one of the main reasons I switched to it. I would not recommend it during the holidays. People not doing the diet will not understand the diet, they will not make things for the diet. It is very tough to eat with…
  • Actively: Deus Ex (On deus ex mode), Lego Indiana Jones, Portal 2 (Co-op) Recently started: Diablo 3, Mass Effect 3, Batman: Arkham City, Saints Row, Dante's Inferno, Lego Clone wars, L. A. Noire Finished in the last year: Skyrim, Dungeon Siege 3, Portal 1 (again), Portal 2 (Single player), Two Worlds 2, Mass Effect 2,…
  • I love this! What I usually tell myself when I'm looking at a temptation is "Do I want to be happy now for only a little bit, or do I want to by happy later for a lot longer" It usually stops me or at least gives me the power to have a small piece instead of the entire package of whatever it is.
  • Right now not too much. I occasionally use my stationary bike, or do Yoga, or kickboxing. 10 minute solutions Yoga is on You tube, I recommend trying it out. I will probably get the disc soon though. I will be starting work with a personal trainer in January, as well as doing some group fitness things. (I entered a weight…
  • A friend just posted this on facebook today, I found it very uplifting: Don't wait for the world to recognize your greatness, Live it and let the world catch up to you.
  • Female gamer here, mostly xbox some PC and Wii as well. At the beginning of the year both my husband and I decided to work together to lose weight. I have lost ~63 lbs this year, my husband has lost ~70 lbs. In order to keep us on track we set up an achievement thing similar to Xbox for fitness, weight loss, and inches…
  • You want to lose 37 lbs in 37 days? Um... I'm not sure that is healthy. My suggestion is to aim to lose no more than 2 lbs per week (~10.5lbs by Christmas)
  • Very interesting, Thanks for this. I myself still won't could them, but this may put my mind at ease for those days I can't make it to my 8 glasses. Also FYI some club Soda's do have sodium in them not much but some (I like putting Mio in them and have a Soda like drink)
  • My birthday is right after New Years and I need to get my new license. I do NOT want to write down 2XX lbs, I am determined to make it to Onederland before then. So I would like to lose ~8lbs by New years!
  • I'm the same way. My rule of thumb is if it is caffeinated don't count it because caffeine is a diuretic that if you don't have other forms of water can cause water retention, the point of drinking water is to help reduce the water you are retaining. also watch out if it contains Sodium because that can cause water…
