  • AWESOME! I love chipotle stuff!
  • Polaner! They make a great fruit jam/jelly that is low cal and low fat and has no added sugar or HFCS!
  • I guess it depends on your ingredients, like if you use a lot of cheese or other cream based ingredients. And remember that pasta is usually a high calorie and high carb food... You may want to use a recipe calculator to total the amount of calories in the tuna pasta bake
  • Grapes and almonds! I like to put one almond in a grape and eat it
  • Use left over ground almonds from making almond milk as a body scrub
  • The "ground beef" crumbles by Morningstar Farms are AWESOME:heart:   ! I make tacos, shephards pie, and meat loaf with these crumbles....you can also make spaghetti and "meat" sauce and even sloppy joes with it too! I love the stuffed bell pepper idea! Sounds fabulous....I  anything with cilantro,…
  • Wow that is so neat! I wish my HRM had an interval timer! I was just thinking about that yesterday and I wondering if I had to wear two watches, one for calories and HR and the other for interval timing :grumble:
  • The best way to track calories is by using a Heart Rate Monitor that tracks how many calories you burn during an activity. With an HRM you can manually add this in MFP's cardio exercise section, but you can label this whatever exercise you do, even if its strength training.
  • I didn't get up to work out early today, I scheduled myself for a 6:30 run, but couldn't make it...so tired :grumble: I will report how the rest of this week goes! To Breakfast Club: The next day is a great day to start over and rise to the occasion
  • I would love to join this challenge! I have been thinking about doing this exact thing...limiting my carb intake. I think it is especially difficult when you do not eat chicken or meat..so I naturally fill up on other carbs. How do we track our efforts in this group? Accountibilty?
  • thanks Sami-This is exactly what I was looking for. Something to give me the ranges. Your help is much appreciated  I'm going to plug in my numbers right now! Mojogurl-I hope you have a good time shopping for one, an HRM is one of the best investments you can make for your fitness/health. I love mine and I shopped…
  • I just got a HRM (Timex Ironman, and I love it) and i am wondering how do I figure out the 70-90-60 % for when I do HIIT. Could anyone help me with this? Based on the standard age calculations, it says my max heart rate is 192. So to do proper HIIT, I would interval between 70-90-60% of that 192 Max Heart Rate?
  • sounds awesome! I'll try it
  • My best suggestion is to check out some veggie cookbooks from your local library. You will also learn to cook with protein alterntatives like tofu and tempeh with the help of cookbooks. Faux meat products from Morning Star farms are a great way to transition to a meat free lifestyle. I still eat fish, dairy and…
  • Hahaha! I can totally relate. I'm considered weird because I eat tofu (I'm a pescatarian) and work out in a gym and lift weights. Go figure!
  • Hi Everyone! Happy to report I got up early today and did my HIIT exercise  I have created a work out plan and my wake up early days are Mondays and Wednesdays. Stay strong everyone!
  • Sorry Boss...I should of been more clear with what I was trying to describe. I warm up for 1-3 minutes and then alternate every minute between fast pace and the next minute slow pace, so each minute is an interval of fast and slow. Is this a good method for HIIT training? I read up on EPOC and wonder if this 1 minute on 1…
  • Baughana: I have the same problem and have decided to wake up early and exercise first thing in the morning. It's great! You get the exercise out of the way and you set the healthy tone for the rest of your day.
  • Scrambled Tofu! Its super tasty and has protein and is low cal! My recipe for scrambled tofu: For 1 person 1/5 of Extra Firm Tofu (water filled tub kind works best) assorted veggies (spinach, onions, tomatoes, etc) a few dashes of curry powder (mainly for color) onion powder salt/pepper 1 tsp oil or oil spray Sautee…
  • Sorry guys! i've fallen off the wagon but I'm ready to start again tomorrow! For the days that I don't wake up, I work out in the afternoon. So I make sure I get a work out in if I snooze through the morning. Tomorrow my work out plan is HIIT in the morning before work and a P90X Legs and Back dvd after work. I will report…
  • I do HIIT but I am not sure if I'm doing it the right way. Can anyone share their HIIT exercises? This is what I usually do on a threadmill: Total Time 20 minutes Minutes 1-3 Warm up minute 4 Run at high speed (7 mph) minute 5 walk or jog at low speed (4mph) and alternate every minute between high and the next minute low…
  • There's a lot of things to eat Peanut butter with! Celery, Apples, Carrots, in a protein shake, pretzels (although pretzels are empty calories) I usually only eat 1 tbsp because its half the calories and fat of a full serving of 2 tbsp :) I agree with everyone else too about natural peanut butter...the texture and taste is…
  • Its been a bad weekend but I can't beat myself up for it-just pick up and do it again! My weekly goals this week are to get up early again and do my tapes or cardio routines. Also to track foods and work out on the weekends--this is my biggest weakness! Good job to all of you who were sunrise warriors
  • Another day of up and at 'em! I got up early and did 20 minutes of High Intensity Interval Training! I am proud! This is so new to me and I really enjoy the energy I get. I'm a classic nightowl and I'm so used to sleeping till the last possible minute...but waking up early to exercise makes me feel happy about myself!!!…
  • I did it! I woke up and did a p90x dvd for Cardio Synergistics! I only did 35 mins of a 57 minute video but I am happy to report that I woke up and worked out and felt great! I had enough time to make breakfast, take a shower, and get to work on time. I will be doing this again tomorrow
  • Lola, Lifting weights will build muscle and burn fat. I asked my personal trainer how to get rid of the "jelly fins" and she said a super clean diet and resistance training. Hope it helps!
  • I want to join the Breakfast Club! I know that this will be the only way to achieve my goals because I have tried to do the after work workout and it doesn't work for a long period of time. I will report after my first morning of waking up and exercisings. Good luck!
  • I've been veggie for 2 years and I love to check out veggie cookbooks from the local library and browse for things that look yummy and healthy! Morning star products are a great way to transition to a veggie lifestyle. They make "meat crumbles" that you can make tacos, shepards pies, meatloafs, meat sauces for pasta, etc.…
  • Try "Better than Bullion" its got great veggie options for chicken, beef, and veggie flavors! With no MSG  You can find it in the health food section or health food stores in your area.
