Hello there, just added you!! Hopefully there will be lots more of us after Christmas, it's obviously a bad time for me to restart lol

What's the members thing about, or will I be sorry I asked. John there's probably some Irish in you somewhere!!

I'm your neighbour in Ireland, will that do:-). I would love more Uk and Irish friends too!

I'm so glad you posted that, I often felt I was the only one as I always hear " a little of what you fancy will satisfy the cravings". If I eat healthy carbs I'm ok is all the unrefined carbs I need to stay away from, tortillas are top of the list lol. I've decided to avoid them too, I will however have a refeed day every…

I'm an emotional eater too but I have found that going lower carb has reduced the intensity of my cravings and they are easily ignored. Personally a little of what you fancy never did it for me, it never satisfied me it made me want more, more more.

Annbillingsle, I get what you mean, I suppose for me I have reached the stage where I consider my weight problems while, not a disease, a definite health problem. I just think it's a shame that the ops wife is allowing her pride to stop her husband eating the meals he feels will be beneficial to him. I think I am…

No offence to you but just because you see cooking as a sign of affection doesn't mean your family will realise that. If you want pats on the back give them to yourself but don't demand them or resent it if someone in your family doesn't like what you prepared. I think calling other people not liking/liking what you made a…

Great thread, I will try a refeed day every few weeks and see how I get on. I like the idea of planning it rather than letting it happen, it means hopefully I will stay in control rather than going over board.

Did you say your happy to make your own meals, if so I can't understand her problem. Your an adult and if you choose to cook different food from your family it shouldn't be an issue. I'm the only one (thankfully) in my family with weight issues. I do most of the cooking but sometimes my husband does and he has no problem…

Joyell, I agree with you 100%, Atkins is not a crash diet and when you lose the weight its very sustainable. You don't have to eliminate carbs forever, you find the carb count that suits you and at which you will maintain your weight. This varies from person to person, its about taking the time to find out what your…

Ok thanks for that, I enjoyed book 1 so will persevere through 2 if the third one is good.

I read the first one and am part way through the second, not sure if I can continue, so many new characters and still not over the death of the major character in the first one. Also by accident I hit book 4 on my kindle where there was a summary of the families and I didn't like what I read happened to the family I like…

I have been on here just over 3 months and have lost 25lbs in that time. I have a lot more to lose, when I look back over the 3 months I do believe I could have lost more if I had been stricter, however I also believe that had I been stricter with myself I wouldn't still be on my weight loss journey. I am usually an all or…

Nuts and cheese are my saviours for this type of day or how about adding some calories to your meals, maybe a nice dressing?
-
I am glad to hear this too because I really have to force myself to eat breakfast, making it an unenjoyable meal. I must have a large mug of tea though!

Me too!! I started off thinking I have 7 stone to lose and to be honest never dreamed it possible, it seemed too daunting. I have now lost almost 2 stone and I am starting to believe I may actually get there, rather than settling for been heavier than I would really like. Break your weight down into goals, and when you…

I am so glad you posted this too as its something that is very much on my mind right now. Usually after a weeks holidays I come back with about 4lbs on even though I do loads of walking. I blame the breads/pasteries. At the moment I am watching my carbs in order to get a few extra pounds off before we go away and I am…

Fantastic and I love your new way of thinking!!

I always used the exercise bike as a way to help control my weight, I found this more effective than walking. I stopped using it when I developed back problems. Recently I have started doing a lot of walking again and I love it, I used the treadmill if the weather was very bad. However I pulled a calve muscle quiet badly…

Would you consider posting your pics and we can give you an honest non biased reply. I would consider that inch loss to be very good.

I am the same, at first I thought it was due to filling in extra time, but even the days I do my workout very early I still fell less hungry and have very little cravings.
-
Oh that's a very special letter, so full of love, what a keepsake to have. Well done to you and Josh

I have really enjoyed these pics, I could spend the day looking at them! Well done to everyone, there is not one set of pictures where I haven't been able to see a big difference. Also its inspirational to see people lose a lot of weight and be toned and tight, makes me believe it will be possible for me!

Wow, well done amazing difference!!
