This is my last word on the subject, firstly just so you know I do wish you all the best I hope for you this will be the success you were so desperate for that you resorted to drastic measures that are from the sounds of it permanent. You're 4 months post op, and your making excuses about been on the road. Your body is…

If this is the way you have to eat for the rest of your life it's time to start educating yourself on good fats. Just because you're on a high fat diet doesn't mean you should be eating cheaply produced, crappy burgers.

I'm curious to know if you consider the surgery a success, everything you've said here makes it sound like a disaster.

Sorry to hear your mum hadn't been well hope she's better soon. Up until this attempt life has always got in the way of my weightloss. This time around I decided to be ready for life getting in the way. I have a lot to lose but set a moderate calorie deficit and exercise quiet a bit so I have plenty of calories to eat and…

You look great in both pics, if I had seen your before pic, I would've said you would be too skinny if you lost more but I can see in the second pic you've lost weight from your hips/ thighs which has really put your body in proportion. Well done:-)

I weigh daily and it used to be the most frustrating thing ever and the cause of me giving up many times. However it's a habit I can't seem to break but after reading a lot on here about fluctuations I decided to track my weight daily, using the libra app on my phone. No longer do these fluctuations bother me, I can see a…

If it can be saved put it aside for later if not bin it and don't feel guilty. Picture whatever food you don't want stuck to your tummy, the bin will seem like a good idea then!!

Oh, when I added my voice to the earlier criticism of St. Patty, I should also have added that we Irish love that St. Patricks day is seen as a holiday world wide, it really flatters us that others celebrate with us.:-D I've changed my pp, to spread the word on the Paddy V Patty conflict, lol.

Lol this is so true, never ever Pattys day. It's Paddys day or St. Patricks day. I'd love to know who first started saying Patty, so I could give them a lecture ;-)

One of the best bits of advice I can give you is to get active dedicated friends, people who are 100% committed to losing weight. You will learn so much from them and will probably change your whole attitude a lot quicker than you will on your own. I had no intention of logging on over Christmas, but the whole family had a…

I eat what I want but I do try and opt for food I know will keep me fuller for longer. I also avoid my trigger foods, it's simple things for me that kick me cravings like boiled sweets, marshmallows rich tea/digestive biscuits. I am a grazer so eat little and often, getting too hungry can result in eating whatever is…

Hi there, feel free to add me, I'm on daily and enjoy the chitchat with my friends, if there's zero interaction then I delete as there's no point in just having numbers!! I have moderate RA too and find diet and exercise a great help. I'm 40, live in Ireland married with 3 children.

Most of it is water weight. Start exercising and eat back at least half the calories, 1200 calories is too low, you have a lot to lose ( like myself, no offence intended ) and it will be a hard road on such low calories. I am set to lose 1 pound per week, my calories are 1570, and I eat back some exercise calories. Every…

Hi there I started with a similar amount of weight to lose, I'm not nearly there yet but there's no doubt in my mind that I will get there. It's going to take time, dedication and consistency and I'm more than willing to give that. I have spent the last number of years losing and gaining weight, beating myself up about my…

Here in Ireland and the UK, we refer to stones, 14 pounds is a stone. We weigh ourselves in stones so right now I'm 15 stone 9.5 pounds which is 219.5 pounds and ounces. The metric system was introduced long ago but many of us still going on to our stones and pounds. My weighing scales measures in stones/kilos and pounds.…

I have a fitbit one and have my settings on fitbit and mfp as sedentary. I usually walk between 15/20k steps per day. Fitbit gives me the calories for these steps but I only eat back around half the calories.

I put in fitness dvds as aerobics, personally I choose not to eat more than half my exercise calories as I don't trust the figure given. I don't have a hrm but have a fitbit. Re the tummy when I was doing 30dayshred I wore a support vest, it was just a cheap one but it held my boobs and tummy in place. Its basically body…

Great post, thank you this is something that I've been thinking about a lot recently.

Fantastic, you look amazing and you've a beautiful family:-)

How many calories are you eating, how many are you earning from exercise?

I wanted this badly for the last good few years, I tried different diets and threw myself in whole heartedly, for a few weeks/couple of months. The fault lied not with how much I wanted it but how I was trying to get there. I have a lot to lose and it wasn't realistic for me to think I could stick to any of the diets I…

Hi I am very similar to you re steps and activity. I have set both fitbit and mfp to sedentary and fitbit gives me calories for my steps, currently my only form of activity. I have a lot to lose and get up to 900 extra calories of which I eat a few hundred. I have a lot to lose though and I often do around 20k steps in the…
-
No I wouldn't log that and I have my mfp am fitbit settings at sedentary. I suppose when I'm doing housework I'm getting steps on the fitbit and extra calories for that though. It's all trial and error, you could set your mfp to sedentary and log cleaning and exercise in and not eat back the calories awarded for cleaning…

Maybe they are not giving compliments because try think you shouldn't have had such a significant weight problem in the first place? Many people don't understand why people allow themselves to gain weight, they think it's unhealthy and self inflicted and for the most part they're right, I'm very overweight so I'm not one…

Have you set your fitbit to sedentary and linked the accounts? If so as you are active throughout the day you will earn calories which will be transferred over from fitbit to mfp when they sync. I aim to lose 1 pound per week, I am allowed 1630 cals ( heavier than you) at sedentary, every day I earn between 500/750 cals…

Hi there, can I ask what your eating was like in the run up to you starting the diet? Is it possible that you were over eating quiet a but as this was the Christmas period? You may have gained weight for this time that showed up on the scales after your start day. At the moment what is your calorie deficit, how much have…
-
Ok I've looked at your diary and you've only been logging on here for 10 days not two weeks, what date did you start calorie counting. Out of those 10 days you have logged exercise for 5 days not every day. What calorie deficit have you set up? You don't seem to have logged drinks, do you take tea/ coffee etc, if so…

Sometimes I can accurately judge the weight of something, other times when I'm very hungry I underestimate the weight, not deliberately it's just something I've noticed. When I weigh an item I take from the pack/jar my guesstimated portion and pop it on the scales. I guesstimate in order to familiarise myself with portion…

I'm female with another 70/80 pounds to lose. I have a fitbit, I have the fitbit and mfp both set as sedentary. I don't log any exercise on the fitbit app, I mainly walk but never add cleaning ect. In a normal day, I do between 12/14k steps. For this fitbit gives me between 500/750 exercise calories. I don't normally eat…

Can I ask if all the people replying are from the US? I think your sizes are 2 sizes larger than ours here in Ireland and UK, I'm not sure about the rest of Europe. So our size 14 is your size 10 I think. I'm not as tall as you guys by any measure, I have a couple of taller friends who wear UK size 16/18 and look quiet…
