HELP.... Active VS Lightly Active???

So I am wondering , do I need to switch my activity level up a notch. I have a fit bit one and I average about 14-16,000 steps a day or 6-8 miles a day. I have a part-time job as a cashier a couple days a week and I am a stay at home mom so I don't just sit on my tush all day. I could really use the input. I have hit a month long plateau and its driving me crazy. Thanks ahead of time :flowerforyou:

Hi I am very similar to you re steps and activity. I have set both fitbit and mfp to sedentary and fitbit gives me calories for my steps, currently my only form of activity. I have a lot to lose and get up to 900 extra calories of which I eat a few hundred. I have a lot to lose though and I often do around 20k steps in the last couple of weeks.

I had mine set to sedentary too but honestly with how long and hard I have been exercising(trying to break the plateau) I am feeling weak. I am trying to listen to what my body wants but push it harder to break the Plateau. So that's where I am at. What do you think?

How many calories are you eating, how many are you earning from exercise?

I would go with active. I am "lightly active" and I have a desk job.

Why would you have set yourself to sedentary if you have a job that basically puts you on your feet all of the time? Also, you're supposed to eat back exercise calories with MFP as you are NOT supposed to include that activity in your activity level setting.

personally I'd go with active and start eating additional exercise calories back and go from there...at least then you can drop some calories if need be. I have a desk job and I'm still light active with MFP because I walk pretty regularly and I chase around my kids at home and am always cooking/cleaning/fixing something around the house. Exercise furthers my body's calorie needs.
