  • I don't eat breakfast and do better losing weight when I don't. Eating any less than 2 hours after I get up makes me sick when this passes I'm starving and end up eating more for the day. I do drink 2 mugs of tea though, I couldn't manage without that.;-)
  • Totally agree with this, my diary is open to friends. I don't expect criticism for what I choose to eat, what I hope for is that if I'm complaining about, feeling hungry/stalled weight loss/ weight gain/feeling bad etc then if one of my friends believe it's down to my food intake they will give me advice on what…
  • So many people have said, " wow" I would like to say something different but all I can think is wow!! You look fab, not only have you lost weight you have style. I really love success stories but their even better when the op dresses to their very best.
  • Big congrats, I'm thrilled for you. You look like a very happy person, I'd say your friends and family have lots of craic when your around. Oh and I can't get over how much younger you look. :-)
  • The original post was written a couple of years ago this is the ops update for jan 2014. Well done on your initial weight loss and for keeping most of it off. I found summer to be a killer with the kids off and like you wine played a role in my gain, well not the wine but the crap I ate with it. I think it's great that…
  • I understand where your coming from, I was always someone who wanted fast solutions. When I think back on all the diets I started which lasted a few months and were tough going, I am filled with regret. If I had taken on board the good advice I read on here and another forum I would have all my weight lost and be in…
  • Great post, there are a few similar on here at the moment but I've decided to honour you with a reply. ;-) After years of dieting, following everything from weightwatchers to lipotrim, crediting them for my losses, blaming them for my gains, I've finally changed my way of thinking. Honestly it's taken a couple of years for…
  • Hi there feel free to add me, I'm an active friend with diary open to my friends. I need to lose at least 50lbs and preferably more!!
  • Feel free to add me, my diary is open to friends. I am an active friend, eating around the same amount of calories. I like reading others diaries too but I am not critical, no matter what plan is followed!
  • The first place my weight goes from is my face and boobs. I find wonder bras are great and smaller boobs mean ( for me anyway) less back, shoulder and neck pain. Also now I have big boobs I can't wait for the end of the day to release them from their harness lol, you don't have these issues with small boobs!
  • Really tea in ample amounts is ok? I drink a minimum of 6 mugs a day, it could be a lot more some days. I don't add sugar and use a little milk which I count. It would be great to think I could drink it freely as I love it especially during winter months. It takes two big mugs to kickstart me in the morning!!
  • Well if that's the case then I get ample fluids each day, I drink quiet a few cups of tea (too many) and a few glasses of water with dilute orange and some plain water too. I will try and cup back on the tea and add more plain water as I probably drink too much tea. Thanks for the replies, by the way would wine count in…
  • That makes sense too, I will make more of an effort with the water too though as I'm a tea addict, lol
  • Thank you both for the replies. I was thinking 500 ml which is difficult at this time of year. 8 x 240 sounds a lot better. I think I was looking for the easy way out by counting tea lol.
  • When I first started I couldn't see the point of having friends, then people started to add me and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the interaction. It's great to get support and even nicer to give support. If I gave a question I choose to post on my profile rather than in the forums, reason been if my…
  • Great reply cwolfman, I might steal your last paragraph for my profile if that's ok, reading it makes so much sense to me. Well done Pam, that's a great loss, enjoy the jeans:)
  • I never feel like eating until a couple of hours after getting up, I have to have a mug of tea though. I work a few mornings a week and usually have an Atkins daybreak bar to keep me going until 2 pm when I will next get chance to eat. If my first meal of the day is big then I'm hungry for the rest of the day too. One…
  • I'm irish living in Ireland.
  • Well done, you've done great, I hope you reach your goal soon.
  • I agree with this, it's not anyone else's business and it must be horrible been put on the spot if she's not comfortable saying she had surgery. I don't like lies bug I don't like the world expecting to know my business either. Once your sister isn't giving dieting advice or sharing, made up meal plans I wouldn't concern…
  • Red wine is my preference but when out I go for vodka, soda water and lime, if it's a long night every second drink is sparkling water.
  • I buy something new every few weeks regardless of my size so I will continue to buy but in smaller sizes. I don't consider it a waste because I don't spend lots on clothes and there's only so many runs through a washing machine an item can take before it looks worn. If I saw something I loved and it was more expensive I…
  • I have recently found that regular exercise controls/ reduces my cravings. Like others I realised I didn't even like many of the foods I over ate, I was eating for the sake of it. My body can't handle unrefined carbs, they set me off eating loads of junk. I'm hoping that these realisations along with a lowcarb diet will…
  • Amazing transformation, beautiful mum and baby!!
  • I'm not sure what your trying to imply, I didn't twist anything, I pointed out that due to the way my body reacts I can't have daily treats, that a little of what I fancy is of no benefit to me. Of course not everyone is a sugar/ carb "addict" but many are. The best advice the op could have been given was that once she ate…
  • That's what I'm trying to get to, I know that having daily treats doesn't suit me but that's not to say it won't work for others. The reason I hate that silly mantra " a little of what you fancy" is because it's not applicable to many of us. I think people should be encouraged to listen to their body and to recognise if a…
  • Hi there, I can't find the group, will you add me please. I'm doing low carb, sticking to around 20/30 g at the moment. I'm going to increase this slowly to a level where I can still lose weight but not have cravings, eating healthier carbs.
  • Treats to me are mainly full of sugar and they send me crazy. I've gained and lost stones a couple of times and each time I had a treat at least once or twice a week and often way more at weekends. Yes I lost weight but I didn't " solve" what causes me to gain weight. On the whole my meals are very healthy and portions on…
  • That's amazing, well done.
