You have to lose it AND keep it off and be healthy for you. You mentioned several times different reasons why your boyfriend says you should lose. You need to dig deep and not do it to please anyone else.

it isn't fair to make a blanket statement regarding how people should feel on their journey. Of course there will always things that could be worse, but at the moment, for someone that is working hard and taking steps to improve their health, their frustrations are valid and should not be seen as any less important because…

I'm 34....feel free to add me :)

That is so exciting! Congrats :)

People will have their opinions and that's ok. I lost and have kept off 174lbs with the help of gastric bypass, healthy eating, fitness and a lifestyle overhaul. Anyone that thinks it's easy has never walked in my shoes or knows the circumstances of what made me make such a drastic life choice. You can't rely on what…

I would approach her privately or just invite her to go shopping with you. I used to be a 28w and now I'm a 12 and I can say that sometimes it is still very hard to dress for my current size. She is probably feeling a lot of body image issues adjusting to the weight loss.

Ummmm, no.

It's so very hard, I definitely understand. I had to get to the point where I was just sick and tired of being controlled by food and my emotions. you'll have to dig deep to really understand what is going on with yourself before you can truly make the changes to improve your health. Best of luck to you

It's hard to offer advice when you haven't really addressed what you are eating...

Log it and move on. Things happen, but it makes no difference to dwell on it. Make your next meal a better one!

It wasn't until I had lost about 35-40lbs that anyone really noticed.

Since using MFP its really taught me about the power in numbers (in calories). I really needed to educate myself and learn about the best way to utilize my calories for the day and to be aware just how much they add up. MFP has really taught me to be accountable.

This is so hard, but do not feel like this is the end. You have the power to change this around! Start small, look at what you're eating now and how you're habits have changed that lead to the weight gain. Small changes add up---start by planning your meals and staying within a healthy calorie range. Start adding movement,…

"I am now completely in love with Chobani"---typo, oops. i need more coffee.

I used to only eat the Yoplait "Greek" until I learned it's not really Greek yogurt, only "Greek Style". No thanks! I am not completely in love with Chobani and I'm never going back to the cheap imitations!

Getting in a good place mentally with this is a great place to start as it IS a very emotional journey. Start with logging and eliminating the junk food. Over time your tastes will change---I'm a former junk food junkie, and I have not eaten fast food in years. You can do this!

Start thinking of your new life---weight loss is an attainable goal, but it definitely is a long road...and it does not end. I would suggest just making small changes: drink more water, move more, explore healthier food options, etc. Small changes over time make a huge difference. I realize that you'll also have to break a…

I envy your height. I am just 5'5" and what I would not do for a few extra inches. Thank you for such an honest post! :)

Stay away from processed, convenience foods. Up your protein! :) tuna fish, chicken, eggs, ff yogurt, etc etc.
