For me, yes, portion control has helped immensely. Everyone has their own opinions on it though, but that's what has worked for me.

Relax. It's not that serious.

At the end of the day, you have to find someone that loves you for YOU. Just because one idiot said something about your weight does not mean that this is the way it is across the board. I met my fiance when I was 40lbs heavier.

Mine is open, you can add me :)

This is a positive thread! I am 34 and getting married in Sept (will be 35 in Oct!) and my husband-to-be and I plan to start trying right away. I have a great fear I am too old, but this has made me feel better :)

I used to be that worryingly overweight relative. My Mom was SO afraid for me (my highest weight was 374lbs) and I was truly in denial. I honestly think this person has to get to their rock bottom (unfortunately) in order for them to have that motivation and moment to know that they need to change. I realize it is very…

Please don't give up. Make small goals and start with making small changes daily. Hang in there!

That's a whole lot of something. I lost my appetite!

I loved your video! You really have a great attitude and I hope you get picked!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND that handstandlove that! I truly hope this happens for you. I can see you going really far. You're such a pretty girl!

I found that finding a balance truly helps. Being healthy is something that has to be part of a healthy lifestyle, but there are challenging moments and situations that do happen. It's easy to say you won't do x,y and z but in reality, we have to have a life and sometimes that involves situations (drinking, eating out) and…

I started at 374 lbs. Don't focus on the numbers or worry you're "the biggest". You're the best just for taking the steps to get here and take charge of your health.

My Mom was just straight up worried about me, would really tell me she feared for my life (which at the time I was like "oh my god, stop being so dramatic!" when it reality I could have dropped dead at 374lbs). I think I knew I was in dire straits with my health but I was in denial for a long, long time.

My story is a little different, but a plateau nonetheless. I lost 166lbs after a year with weight loss surgery eating well, exercising...and then it just stopped. Just like that. It was really a harsh reality after the weight came off rather steadily up to that point. I had to push on hard to lose the next 8lbs putting me…

I hate to use the term "reward" because really I think only dogs get rewarded with food. lol. I'd look at it as a hard earned indulgence, and I definitely do take advantage of that! I just make sure to get in my water intake for the day and some gym time to balance it all out :)
-
Of course. This weight loss game is not always pretty and I find that it helps to be honest with yourself about gains/losses to help learn how they happened in the first place to have a better weigh in next time.
-
I do agree with this. The reward should be being healthy, not happily eating back everything you worked off.
-
I've done both and I have found that I see a steady loss when I do not eat them back :/ trust me, I'd love to eat back and each and every one! lol

4lbs is 4lbs! You SHOULD be excited! Take this great energy and momentum and run with it! :)

Best: "Marissa, you did it. you look amazing" --and I cried right then and there. this was from my gynecologist to me after seeing me a year post-op after gastric bypass surgery. She's the one that referred me to a bariatric surgeon originally after an annual exam with her showed crazy high blood pressure, high glucose,…

I have this one in my office and I reflect on it daily and definitely at times when weight loss seems a little slow: "Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out"
-
Sure! As long are you are within your calorie range, go for it. No need to give it up if it is really something you enjoy and if having a bit is what keeps you on track, then it's not a big issue.
-
I eat low fat string cheese everyday. as long as it fits in my calorie range I'm good. I can't and won't live without it
-
That is a wonderful NSV! It's a really great feeling when you can shop anywhere. Congrats :)
-
You can definitely be successful just eating carbs in moderation. I keep between 80-100 per day, but concentrate mostly on my calorie intake. Carbs are not the enemy.

THIS. thank you.

Wear it..you've earned it!

Wow, great customer service for Delta! I am glad she made you feel good about this.
-
Have you looked up the dimensions for a Delta seat online? I know in the past when i had this concern I measured beforehand to have an idea. Best of luck at the ranch!

I am glass half full type of person...always! (or at least I try to be...then I look for others for optimism and motivation, too!). Add me :)

Make a plan! How about saving those restaurants for a special treat once a week. I hate to say this in a manner of 'rewarding yourself with food", but it sounds like you really love eating out and it may be a bit helpful to wean yourself off without going cold turkey and back tracking. Work hard, and you can enjoy all the…
