  • I think it is more motivating to set smaller goals and reward yourself in some way (new clothing) when you reach those goals, celebrate! That way you will be more motivated to work towards your next goal and know that you are quite capable of doing it!! Keep up the good work :)
  • Hope she is feeling better! We have a Chiahuahua also and she has a very sensitive stomach and gets sick very easily. Keeping my fingers crossed! :)
  • I love Buckle BKE jeans, they are super comfortable...very important after having had 4 kids :)
  • What we tell our kids (and both hubby and I have tattoos) is not to do any CLMs or Career Limiting Moves....meaning don't get your face, neck, hands tattooed or have piercings you can't take out. In other words, when necessary make it so that you can cover them up with clothing if the need arises. We are both professionals…
  • yum! going to try this...thanks!
  • sounds great, count me in!
  • bump! :)
  • I too have recently just gotten back on here and would love to share my journey and support with you. I have about 25-30lbs to lose!
  • Just a quick check in! Thanks for all the warm welcome backs, I do remember why I love this group so much! I had to help in pre-school with Caden today and Tuesday afternoons is one of Jackson's (8) trampoline team practices....luckily I found some trails around the gym where I can run while he practices so I can get in a…
  • Hi Ladies! I was a part of this group about a year ago and then got so busy I was off the site for quite a while but I am back now and would love to participate again! I have 4 boys ages 19,13,8, and 4, I have started doing P90X again...hubby and I made it through about 6 weeks of it until we hit vacations and chaos at the…
  • Good for you!! Keep it up and I am sorry that your parents are trying to bring you down. Hang in there and stick to your guns. It almost sounds like your parents are jealous of your healthy life and resent what you are doing but keep on pushing and hopefully they will come around. I have a 19 year old son and wish he had…
  • My husband and I are on week 5 and we are loving it. I have lost several inches already and feel the difference. I haven't lost any weight but my body has changed, my clothes are all too big now :) We have missed a day here and there but we just jump right back in (sometimes life does get in the way). I think you will…
  • Hey Ladies! Good job everyone on all the working out! I am always so impressed with the motivation and support here. Jackson seems to be on the mend now, just lots of coughing but no fever. Found out that there were 23 2nd graders out of school yesterday! There are 5 classes or roughly 20/class. That is a lot of sick kids.…
  • Bilimina--Thanks for sharing. I like reading quotes and inspirational messages. Makes me feel better  At least my littlest guy (Caden) hasn't gotten sick (yet) am keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way. Since I can't go to the gym today with Jackson still home, I am going to try and do some lifting here.…
  • Hey everyone----sorry been MIA. Jackson is still very sick- coughing and a fever. It seems that some of the schools here are seeing an absentee rate as high as 23%, which is very, very high! We actually did an interview with the local DC news about Jackson being home sick....was kind of cool. The reporter found us via…
  • Stacey--thanks for the well wishes for the family! It is true, it actually takes a sample and growing it to see if it forms plaques and then testing the virus for the characteristics of the specific virus to determine if it is what you are looking for...sorry.....took virology in college and my research background is…
  • Bili-thanks and way to go with the positive attitude, that is half the battle. Keep up the good work and you will see the scale move. Just got an email from a mom of a child in my son's 2nd grade class....it appears that yes, the swine flu is going through the class. Her son was in the ER this weekend and diagnosed with it…
  • Stacey---thanks for trying to help...too funny that we did it at the same time. BTW your pictures look great, all that hard work is really paying off  Thanks everyone for the well wishes for my son....he is now just coughing a lot but no fever, hopefully it will stay that way! I am coughing some but my nose is…
  • Sorry it took me so long ladies to get the new thread up this morning. My 7 yo is home coughing and running a fever....the elementary and middle schools sent home a notice last week that they were seeing many kids with flu like symptoms in the health room. I hope he doesn't have the flu or if he does that the rest of the…

  • Nicole--strength training burns many calories by boosting your metabolism and building muscle, we don't see the calories burned right away like when doing cardio but the long term results are actually better. My Father-in-law talks a lot about how many females get stuck in just doing cardio and can do a lot of it and not…
  • Amy--way to go on the walking, glad your toe felt good too. Stacey and Bili--I have a Polar HRM that I use for any exercise, strength training and cardio. I love it. It helps me get a better idea of where I am when working out. Stacey---did I tell you that we all missed you last week? Cuz we did! Once again, I am glad you…
  • Shera-omg what an adventure, glad you made it back safely....you can look back and laugh at this one day....and what a workout! You deserved those beers. Bili- try to eat your cals. just like on Biggest Loser when people aren't dropping lbs. many times it is because they aren't eating enough. I need to track my food again!…
  • Amy---Woo Hoo on the walking!! That is great, keep up the good work! And congratulations on the 1lb weight loss! Remember as long as it is going down and not up! Stacey---glad you are starting to feel a little better and about the toys....sometimes it seems like my kids have a lot and we give away a lot but…
  • Bili---I agree with Nicole, as long as you are doing something but I would also try and do some kind of strength training....pushups (modified are fine), squats...lifting some cans of food even for curls. Strength training tends to boost your metabolism and therefore burn more calories over time. Also, how long does it…
  • Nicole--- I hear ya on the wine!! Believe me, I needed a glass last night. The kids and hubby were driving me crazy!
  • Stacey-Welcome Back! We missed you! Glad to hear that the reunion was a success and that you enjoyed yourself. Your are not being vain, you should enjoy the compliments cuz you have worked hard to achieve the results.
  • Bilimina Welcome!!! We just kind of share what's going on in our lives and try to support each other! We do some mini challenges like trying to drink our water (I have a really hard time with this!) and just let you know that we understand the challenges you face being a mom and trying to take care of yourself too.…
  • Sorry everyone! I have been super busy the past week and didn't post much :grumble: Hopefully this will be a better week all around, exercise and not as busy but with my house of kids, who knows! I am hoping to at least get a walk/run in today some time  Everyone have a great day and remember: YOU CAN DO IT!!!
