Yes, sorry, I forgot to say, but I do let it rise for about an hour :)

I have a bread recipe that is really easy and hasn't let me down yet. Mix 1 C warm water with 1 T yeast and 2 T honey Let it sit for 10 min or so, then mix in 1 C flour (you can use any kind, white, whole wheat, buckwheat, whatever) Add 1/4 C oil. Olive oil gives it a better taste than regular canola, in my opinion. Add 1…

To put things in a bit of perspective: For those of you using the BMI chart to slam her, according to the chart, if she is 5'4 and 105 lbs, she is a mere 3 lbs away from being in the healthy weight range. She probably looked sick more because she had been dehydrating to lose weight in the hopes of winning, than because of…

In my opinion, go to the events, skip the desserts. Enjoy the concert and just drink water. Have fun eating out at friend's homes, but stick to the vegetable and protein options in small portions. Tell people you don't really eat sugar. They will get used to it. You can have a 3 day weekend out and still eat healthy. Get…

I agree. My parents always made sure I knew Santa was just pretend, and as a kid, I always felt kind of sorry for my friends who believed in Santa. I have told my children it is pretend, because I can't look them in the eye and tell them something that I know is not true. We still go see Santa and do the whole bit, but…

If you're not purposely trying to be thin and/or eat too little, I really doubt you're anorexic. One thing to consider: a normal bmi for a 16 year old is 16-17, which is what you are at. Since you are 18, could it be that your body is just developing later than the curve? Most people who are very thin as teenagers will…

In your past 3 days I see one day at about 3500, 1 day at 600, 1 day at 500. That averages out to 1533, which isn't a starvation number at all. If you constantly eat 600 and 500 every day without the higher days, then yes, you will end up starving yourself eventually. If you just weren't hungry that day due to eating a lot…

It's lower than most people would be healthy at, for sure. I don't disagree there. But my 25 year old brother eats healthy and lifts weights and is 140 at 6'1. He's not skeletal, doesn't try to be thin, just really small framed for a guy. So it is possible. I just hate to see some people jump straight to assuming someone…

The one I was looking at is the one on the website of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, and it doesn't differentiate between women and men. 18.5 is considered the lower limit of healthy for men and women both. I checked a couple of others and that one seems to be pretty standard. 140 is considered in the…

Some of you here are pretty judgy. OP has already said he wants to eat more. 135 is probably a little low for the stated height, but you don't know anything about this person's bone structure or body type. 135 is technically .2 below what is considered healthy on the BMI scale. If someone came here with a BMI .2 OVER what…

25-30 percent body fat may be normal but there is nothing wrong with wanting to lower that a bit. However, it is HIGHLY unlikely that with your weight and height you are anywhere near that body fat percentage. Those online calculators are not reliable. If you are really interested in knowing, I would search online for a…

Thank you! I don't know how I missed that. Although she did also say she doesn't count calories and could be underestimating this. OP, perhaps a good compromise would be to track for a couple of days meticulously to get a good idea of how much you are actually eating and then go back to not counting once you know with…

I don't understand why everyone is assuming she eats 900-1200 calories when she is not counting calories? Why assume the worst? I don't think 900 calories was ever mentioned by the OP. Additionally, I'm not sure why everyone is pushing counting calories so hard. I mean, I could see the first few times, but after she's said…

This is actually vastly untrue for most "normal" people in today's world. There may be the occasional skinny person who can eat to their heart's content and not gain, but usually if someone is fit and has a good body, it's because they've worked extremely hard to get and maintain it. I am in the minority here, but I agree…

Will you regret eating them later? If so don't eat them. If not, eat them.

I put it in my oatmeal, and it's really good and filling. It has become one of my staples.

First off I am not a coach and never will be, not even for the discount. I use the shakes as I would any healthy food; as part of a balanced diet and not as part of some "program" where I have to consume them every day as a meal replacement. I find that it fills me up much better than shakes made with regular protein…

That personal trainer sounds really confused. If you listen to him, you're going to be really confused. Keep in mind they go through a short training course, they don't even have to have completed college. Some of them really know their subject and others are clueless. You'd probably be better off doing your own research…

Got hooked on running back in 10th grade and I've been running for 16 years now. I run anywhere from 2-5 days a week, usually on trails. Distance is whatever I feel like, unless I am training for something. It will be anywhere from 3-8 miles on weekdays, or 5-14 miles on Saturdays. If I'm training for a marathon it will be…

I think it's usually because healthier foods tend to be more satisfying and filling for the same amount of calories. There are a lot of foods that I haven't "given up" but in reality I never eat them because they're just not worth the amount of calories I would have to spend on them. I could eat 1500 calories a day of cake…

You don't have an eating disorder. Sounds like they want to reassure themselves that their unhealthy eating habits are normal so they have to tell themselves that it's you who has the problem. Don't let them make you second guess yourself!

If you really prefer to have cereal, there are only a few kinds I have found that keep me feeling full. They are the ones with not only high fiber and low sugar, but also with high protein. Kashi GoLean and Crunchy Flax have been the only ones I can really eat without feeling hungry an hour or two later as you said. Adding…

I think whether it is moderation or not depends on what your calorie goal is. If your calorie goal is 2800 or so a day, then sure, you could fit a serving of ice cream in there daily. If your calorie goal is 1400 or so, then eating a full serving of ice cream daily might make it difficult to get some of the micronutrients…

I don't think it matters as much as some people think it does. I would do it in the order that you enjoy doing most. For me, that's cardio first, hands down.
