Yes - I have a much better idea now :) ok, first off - I would NOT paint the bed/dresser. If you want to change the color, then I would stain it a darker color if you want to change it, otherwise leave it. Working with the oak colors - I would probably not go for a red accent wall. In both of my previous houses I had the…

I love painting and all that fun stuff :) Few questions - so right now the room is beige and you want to keep the beige but add a red accent wall? Is the red a "must have"? Do you have any rugs, pictures, or decorative item that is a "must have" and if so, what color(s) are they? What colors (mainly) do you have in the…

Very good point. I was one of those who said "eww", lol, so I will respond to your post. I'm not going to get into the biological aspects of this but what happened to me is when I started eating clean (slowly weeding out processed stuff, refined, stuff, HFCS, etc.) I found that gradually my desire for this stuff decreased…

How long do you bake it and what temp?

I use EVOO and basalmic vinagrette for salad dressing - even my 4-year old loves this. I also avoid processed lunch meat. I usually make stews in the crockpot and freeze in batches to bring to work. If you want "clean" lunch meat - you can bake a whole organic chicken or turkey on the weekend, slice and freeze some and put…

Trader Joe's Dark Truffle Chocolate bar and lots of veggies.

Maybe add yellow food coloring to your water? I hate it when people take my stuff too! Idea - why not switch from disposable water bottles to an aluminum or non-BPA plastic bottle - label it with your name and stick in the fridge. I bet whoever it is would be less inclined to steal your water along with your water…

Wow...I'm speechless!

I have three kids too! They aren't teens yet - so I'm going to file your fab idea for future use! I do hide cookies (that I make for potlucks) in the china cabinet otherwise DH would inhale them in a single breath, lol.

I have to agree with Dave. Most of the "home gym" stuff I've bought either broke, or (after a while) collected dust. Looking back - I kick myself with how much $$ I could have saved all those years  If you wanna burn $100, maybe buy a couple of Personal Trainer consultations, buy a new pair of running shoes/exercise…

My husband does the same thing - I've learned (after 10 years, lol) to specifically ASK for what I want done or not done, otherwise it is a mute point, lol. So while I'm at the restuarant, boxing up my food, I always reach for one of the kids' crayon and write on my box, "MAMA's food - stay out!" Yep, men!

While I can't say that I have been there before, there are a few people on this board that have, and I have a few friends that are trying to reach a healthy weight. The underlying premise is the same - whether we want to lose or gain - and can be summed by neatly by Michael Pollan: "Eat Food, Mostly Plants, Not too Much"…

Double yuck!

What is Clour soup? Also - if you want to watch the sodium, make your own soup from scratch. I buy a whole chicken and make broth from it on day one (crockpot - fill it with water, an onion and the chicken), and then on day two use the broth (strain and remove fat) and shred chicken plus whatever veggies and spices you…

I love this. Thank you for sharing! I just sent it to a friend of mine that is struggling with finding her purpose. Hugs.

Egg Beaters is a product manufactured in St. Louis, Missouri and is currently sold in the United States by ConAgra Foods as a substitute for whole chicken eggs. Egg Beaters is made with real eggs and is composed of egg whites separated from their yolks and fortified with vitamins and other nutrients. Xantham gum and guar…

wow - that is fabulous!! BTW - did you set up your HRM with your specs (age, weight, etc.)? Also if you take the fit test then it can set your own zone for your fitness level. Enjoy your new fitness toy

A week isn't that long - EVERY month I go through phases: Week 1: Warm Week 2: Hot! Week 3: Warm Week 4: TOM - hands off Week 5: Freezing Cold - Don't Even Think About It Buddy And the cycle repearts. Like clockwork - hubby jokes he can set his watch to my "womanly cycle", lol. Maybe a little bit of info about hormones,…

What she said. If you recently had kids - they will fade (purple/red will turn blueish-grey.) I know my skin will never be flawless again (surgery would help, but that's not for me right now). That's ok - I got three great kids outta the deal

What she said!   Wow!

I agree with what the previous posters have said, also - can you involve your daughter more in preparing the food? Does she like to cook? Maybe the two of you could sign up for a class at the community college or something - dance, or even pottery (something that does not involve unhealthy food and promotes bonding.) My…

I loved all those books! I also liked Kingsolver's Prodigal Summer. I read about 3 books a week - love my public library.

I read it in the bookstore (it's not long or hard, and after the first couple of chapters - you get the drift). Basically it is a book advocating cleaning, vegan eating with a bunch of expletives thrown in for extra measure. I did not buy it.

That is exactly how I feel! I love that quote - thanks! MIssy - so glad your hubby knew what you needed, and that you've reconnected with your friend. In my experience, I find that some family members take advantage of the "family" connection and spew whatever they are feeling (regardless if it is warranted or not) without…

Oh he has you trained   One of the hardest things was to train my kids that if they are dry, fed, and otherwise fine - they ain't coming out of bed until dawn! You can put a basket of toys in the corner of his crib so he can entertain himself when he wakes up, and it's good for kids this age to learn…

Is this what your boss was talking about? http://www.govcb.com/governmentbid-access-control-list-A01024.htm Does your company solict bids? This website seems to be a place for companies to "advertise" what they do. What is your intention or goal?

Drink water, journal (write down how you are feeling, things you are dealing with - try to identify the underlying cause for the binge), call someone on the phone, clean the house - anything to keep yourself busy!

I changed the way I eat - I tried reducing portions, but then I craved more (who can eat just 7 potato chips??) I had to cut the cycle, and swtiched foods around. It works so far - instead of craving a baked potato with butter, sour cream, bacon bits, etc. I would rather eat a baked sweet potato with nothing on it. I'm not…

You could probably cook it in a crockpot with whatever seasoning you want (BBQ sauce, or any of the other seasonings posted previously). If you cook it for a long time (8-10 hours) you will be able to shred the pork (could have pulled pork sandwiches), or if you want to slice the meat and have a roast type of meal, then…

Cool! I even use it in my hair (chlorine wrecks havoc with my cuticles!) and have been getting good results! Does your facial moisturizer include sunblock? I've been using Aveeno Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15, but have been wanting to find something that does not have artifical fragrences, etc.
