I found a similar website (actually I have the book) called Slow, Fat Triathlete: http://www.slowfattriathlete.com The author, Jane, cracks me up!

 I haven't heard that version before! I think the one I've heard is: Aim for the moon - at least if you miss, you will land among the stars. - Not sure who said this tho.

Don't feel silly! Hummus is blended chickpeas, olive oil, and (usually) garlic. You can add other things such as red bell pepper, etc.

A bucket of pine-sol/water and a rag are all I need to clean the floor (I'm a hands-and-knees gal - you can't get all that stuck-on stuff off without some elbow grease.) And now that DD is older - this chore has been passed on to her (jumping for joy)

I have a polar F-11 and LOVE it!! Chest-strap is the only way to go, imho.

I'm so glad everything fell into place!! Hugs and happy wedding planning  :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

You can mix non-fat, plain yogurt with any kind of spices (dry onion soup mix, ranch mix, etc.) to get a healthy "dip." Hummus is also good as far as protein and such are considered, but not always low fat/calories - so in moderation

Ok, I have a question for you - last week I went and had my body fat and BMR tested. Body fat was tested by dunking in a tub of water - came out to 25% which is what I expected. My BMR was tested by sitting and breathing into a machine for 10 minutes, and it came out to 1,900 - then he said I burn an additional 500 just…

And have a 500% chance of getting that nasty flesh-eating disease? No thanks.

i crave salt once in a while too - you know, we do need sodium, so it's good to listen to your body. For a while, I cut sodium out entirely - my intake was in the low hundreds, and I felt awful after exercising! Then one day I splurged and ate preztels after swimming, and I felt so much better! Odd, but a little sodium is…

Did you check the tracking number yourself to see if the wife's story was legit? If he is going to supposedly be in "full force" by the end of the week - I suggest you email back and state that you want to set a date and time for a phone call discussion within the week about his services, and you can go from there.

If you use the store-bought, already baked crust - you don't have to do this. You only do this if you are making your own crust. I realized I didn't ask if you were making your own crust, or using crust that is already baked. With the kids and all...it'll probably be easier to just pick up a bunch of already-baked pie…

Until it is fully cooked - usually about 10-15 minutes. I put an empty pie tin with pennies or something weighted on top of the bottom crust to keep it from "puffing" up. The crust should be golden and feel cooked (not gummy).

I don't think you need to squeeze them out - it might crush the berries and make it "mushy." Most pies call for fruit, lemon juice, flour, sugar mixture in the filling. I would skip the lemon, since there will be a bit more fluid in the frozen berries, but thaw them, mix with a couple tablespoons of flour and sugar (if the…

Wow - that's pretty small... have you tried ordering online or checking speciality stores? Worse comes to worse, I'm sure you could have something made for you in leather (heels). As for the running shoes - well, the spiderman/flashing lights/god knows what else could be a converstation starter, lol!
-
And THEN you would log all the calories burned hauling all that crap up and have exercise taken care of as well!
-
Is that in addition to my salary - or is it just 50K, flat rate?
-
Ohhh, ok - well I'm no lawyer, but DH is in his 2nd year of law school and I've been up to my ears in contracts and torts - blech! So, let me just put this out there - since you signed the contract, technically, that is a binding document - however, this guy has failed to live up to his terms of the agreement. What I would…
-
I agree with Bunny! BTW - did you sign the contract?

That was my husband two years ago when he bought the Wii ("for the kids") and he was on it 24/7. He (with a lot of "encouragement" from me  ) had to sell it - no video games in our house!
-
I hear you! I work out of the home full time, so my house doesn't get nearly as much attention (cleaning) as it should, lol. A few months ago I took time off work and did a DEEP clean - anything that had not been used in a year - gone. Broken? Gone. Clutter? Gone. I'm serious - we had 20 bags of garbage/donations.…

I was going to say the same thing. Put him on a team - doesn't matter what it is - but something. Basketball, hockey, indoor scoccer, tennis, etc. My girls (now ages 8 and 10) were also getting "hefty" even though I didn't think they were fat, per se, and we eat healthy but I knew they needed some changes otherwise they…

My four-year old son wasn't sure how to say "kiwi", so he said, "Mama, I want another bikini!"

Oh I'm so glad someone else is reading this book! I was worried I picked a dud  I grew up reading fables, grimms brothers, kipling, etc. - so reading this book was like opening the door back to my childhood. kjllose - You flatter me! :blushing: I'm kind of intense when it comes to my books - sorry! I just found this…

 Same here!! I've gone from a pants size 16-18 to (now) a size 4, but my boobs are still double d's. WTH??? The band size did decrease (36 to 32) but not the frickin' cup size. Hubby, however, has nooooooo complaints. LIttle brat - he doesn't have to deal with wardrobe issues!
-
An off day (for me) means no exercise. A cheat day is when I eat a bit above maintenance (ok, ok it's when I pig out!)

  Isn't it amazing how transposable our college skills are??? *sitting at work, not doing any work*

I tend to eat some of the seeds (lots of fiber!!), but spit some out - kinda like a watermelon: you can eat the seeds or spit 'em.

I heard on the food network that Almond Roca was originally made to ship overseas because they fill the canisters with nitrogen in order to keep the candy "fresh" for long periods of time. I know I LOVE Almond Roca - the stuff is yummy! I also 2nd Ezzie's idea. I just love the black/white pictures - maybe have a sheet…

I usually go by what my HRM tells me, but I remember reading that it may not be 100% accurate for some people who are out of the "norm." Songbyrd is our resident expert on physiological things - send her a PM and she'll be glad to lay it all out for ya
