  • Thanks for sharing your story. I found that seeing the numbers really helped me, and I hope it helps you as well. You won't find a better place for encouragement or support. Plus, everyone here recognizes and appreciates how difficult the struggle really is.
  • lmao - here here! seriously, i baked gingerbread cookies... delicious. i just couldn't help myself. i've had 5 over the past 4 days, and i feel like a pig. *sigh*:blushing:
  • This is my ultimate food sin/sabotage - I ALWAYS find myself ready to eat when I'm bored. I try to read a book -- I find I focus less on food and usually, the craving goes away. If it doesn't, then I assume I really am hungry. It's a battle, I tell ya!
  • Hi Tyler, I just wanted to say: good for you. I wish I'd had your motivation when I was a teenager. It probably would have made my life a lot easier now. Just remember - it's a lifestyle, not a diet. Also, while I hope you reach your goals, I also hope that you find a girl who likes you for you, not just the package. Good…
  • amazing job! I am almost there myself, so i know what an accomplishment that is. Stay focused and keep up the great work!
  • This is so messed up because I can legitimately understand both sides... I mean, if all the mother serves her kids is hot dogs and crap food, can that not be considered child abuse? But on the other hand, I agree that it's the MOTHER that needs help, and removing the children is likely to cause more harm than good... Plus,…
  • amazing!!! have a great time! :drinker:
  • I agree - you have to consider it a lifestyle change. It's okay to treat every now and then, but really, you have to be ready to overhaul your life.
  • you should totally try fajitas - low fat cheese, salsa, whole wheat tortilla and some lean ground beef... delicious
  • I second this. After about a week and a half of entering my data, I had overhauled my life. I literally had NO IDEA what I was putting into my body. I also used to think "a doughnut can't be THAT bad, right?" WRONG! just stick with this site and work hard and you'll reach your goals! :flowerforyou:
  • Someone once posted this on the forum and I've used it as my mantra ever since: "5 minutes in your mouth, 5 months on your *kitten*" I've even offered it to other people as a reason for why I'm not partaking during social events. No one will try to pressure you after you tell them that!
  • that is TOO FUNNY! cats are soooo smart. i agree - lock the dreaded scale up!
  • OMG... WTF?! :grumble: :noway:      :explode:
  • I've been off the wagon as well... :frown: Like you, I've been attempting to watch portion controls. I was already bad today (Mini M&Ms - a handful, and 5 mini breakfast sausages) but I'm going to behave the rest of the day! :blushing: We can do it! Let's get back on track! P.S. I  the idea of using MFP as the home…
  • Same here. I gained so much weight on the Depo shot. I've posted about this before, and I adore Mirena. I was told, though, that it is hormonal, but it only affects the uterus, unlike the pills which get into the blood stream (hence the weight gain). I haven't gained a single pound, and forget I have it most of hte time…
  • are you sure it isn't gallstones? i was having problems myself and tried this cleanse. it worked wonders and i find that my system is still benefiting from it. http://curezone.com/cleanse/liver/huldas_recipe.asp it's not fun, but you get great results. my mother tried it and it really worked for her too. just be sure to…
  • That is amazing news! You truly are an inspiration to me. :blushing:
  • That's a really good point and I never thought of it like that... :noway: you have totally just changed my outlook here. Thanks for this! :blushing:
  • I find that if i'm in "the zone" where my metabolism kicks in, I lose it SUPER fast. But I tend to plateau a lot, sometimes for weeks at a time. It's a total stop/start thing with me. For example, it's not unheard of for me to lose 3-4 lbs in a week, then nothing for another 2... :grumble: the point is: it's a very…
  • that's inspirational. thanks for sharing. I'm a huge fan of the show "The Biggest Loser" and one thing they say is that you can always do some sort of workout, even on vacation. :drinker:
  • Grats to you! That is awesome news! I'm so happy for you! :drinker:
  • if you've recently cut out all your sugar and/or caffeine, that could be a cause as well. your body goes into withdrawl and you can get mild headaches. if they last much longer, i would see a doctor though :ohwell:
  • in response to the pain issue: try the elliptical trainer. it's very low impact. or, you might try aquafitness classes.
  • 23! Hey all!
  • http://photos.myfitnesspal.com/images/photos/220/835/220835_2818.jpg I don't see it as much, but it's been a year's worth of hard work :blushing: BTW - how do we put pics into a forum?
  • I have no idea... sorry. :frown:
  • Okay, when you log in, go to your profile. In the bottom left hand corner, there's a little bar that says 'applications'. Click the bar. A fly out menu is going to appear with all your aps on it. At the very bottom it says 'browse more applications'. Click it. You get taken to a new page with Aps on it. Down the left hand…
  • Ticker Factory has an application on facebook. Just search `weight loss` and you'll find it.
  • I also have armpit fat in addition to flabby chicken arms. I've found that doing tricep curls (lay on your back and raise weights from behind you up over you chest) really helps get some muscle tone... still got the flab, but at least as I lose the weight there's muscle under there! :ohwell:
  • My first GP wouldn't let me get an IUD because I was under 25 (I was 17 the first time I asked) and hadn't had children. Years later, I switched GPs, and the second one told me that she didn't want to do it because my cervix wasn't "stretched" enough from childbirth and she would have problems getting it in. She sent me to…
