exactly. this is how weight loss happens. if i want a cookie. i eat a damn cookie. Just not 5 and not every day after every meal. Moderation and portion control are the key. Although I don't really drink soda anymore and am Gluten/Dairy free due to health reasons, it doesnt mean I don't indulge every once in a while. It's…

Great advice here already! Another thing I've found that works for me, is to set really small goals. (lose 3lbs by next week, eat 3 servings of veggies every day, exercise 3 times this week, etc.) When you find yourself acheiving these small goals, (no goal is too small!) you'll feel so good that you've accomplished them…

I love seeing other people's pics, too!

I'm assuming we don't. considering I don't know what that is! haha.

Thanks! I have a sensitivity but I mainly just stay away from the obvious ones (bread, pastas, etc.) And since I use protein powder every day I don't want it in that either or it builds up in my system.

awesome thanks! I believe the nearest TJ is like 45 min from me and i've NEVER been to one but always wanted to check it out! I'll have to plan a trip sometime! (but i'll check it out online, too!)

Side note: no gluten

LOVED hip hop abs! I lost like 3 inches within the first week!! I'm planning on doing another round of it soon!

a little bit of everything! I still struggle with diet now and then (but I probably always will. damn food.lol) But as far as exercise: running/jogging, plyometrics, stair stepper, and lots of strength training. I've come to LOVE lifting!!! And I invested in a Polar HRM a few months ago and it really gives me an extra…

Nowadays I run at least one mile every workout (usually to start out as my warmup) and I do about an hour of strength training, hip hop abs, and I try to throw some plyometrics in there, too. The stair stepper has also become my best friend. (although it's a love/hate relationship) I also started biking outside with my…

I think I put up an 'FAQ' post on my blog a little while back: kesslahh.tumblr.com but as for 'secrets,' I started out really slow and worked up to where I am now. I find that it's best to set small acheivable goals instead of one huge goal right off the bat. One of my biggest tips is to have a workout buddy who's as…

Thanks guys! I did a bit of reading last night and I remember seeing that cotton socks aren't great for running...and that's all I wear. Time to invest in some running socks! It's just weird because I never really ran into this problem before....(haha...ran). And I just bought brand new Asics in March-ish, so I'm hoping…

thank you lovelies!! side note, I started in April '12 (first pic) so I'm currently in month 15. Slow and steady wins the race!

Oh I hear ya! When I first started, I could barely run 60 seconds without feeling like I was DYYYYING! And I really want to do that zombie run, too!! I'm trying to sign up for as many 5k's as possible. I'm doing a second Color Run next weekend and The Dirty Girl Mud Run next month. Can't wait! Next year I'll conquer Tough…

lookin' good ladies!!! I'll post mine later! :)

Congrats!!! I know EXACTLY how you feel. I didn't start running until January because of back problems (which I'll always have.) But the C25K program REALLY helped me ease into running. I ran my first 5k in may...yes RAN the whole thing (with a few short stops in between.) Now I can jog a mile straight with no problems as…

Welcome! You definitely have the right mindset to get you started! Feel free to add me :) I've lost 70lbs in the last year and I'm still going. It's all about a 'lifestyle change' not a diet. Diets have deadlines, lifestyle changes are permanent! Let me know if I can help. I'm on here everyday, have a facebook fan page, a…

I'm down 70lbs and it took me about 13 months to do so. That's about 5.5lbs a month. I've hit plateaus many times but I'm still going. You've just gotta keep thinking positive thoughts and you will succeed. You CAN and WILL do this! You didn't put the weight on overnight so it's not going to come off overnight. Try…

Yea you'd have to drink an insane amount for it to be hazardous to your health. And especially if you're working out, etc. you need more. You should only be concerned if you're constantly drinking when you don't need it or aren't thirsty. http://drbenkim.com/drink-too-much-water-dangerous.html

I agree here, try changing up your workout routine. Sometimes your body gets used to what you're doing. When I start cruising into a plateau, I throw some plyometrics in with my routines. You need to shock your body so it responds with "woah! what's going on?!" and works harder. Also, are you doing any weight training?…

Hahah oh they did!!
