  • How were your results with the Ripped In 30 series?
  • I took a bunch of measurements right before I started Day 1. I took a couple pictures but then my camera decided to act up so I'm hoping there will be a big enough difference at the end to tell in the two that came out okay. After doing Day 4 today I feel like the cardio is a cake walk and so is the abs. Can't do more than…
  • I've been using 5 lb weights because that's all I have and I have to take a few breaks during that last strength circuit. I just do easier arm movements so I don't stop moving.
  • 30 Day Shred is a DVD workout by Jillian Michaels. You can get it at Walmart, Target, etc. for like 10 bucks. There are some really great results posted over in the Success Stories board if you want to see what it can do for you. It's intense but quick.
  • Great Job!! I finished Week 6 Day 1 yesterday. It was pretty rough but only because I started 30 Day Shred a few days ago and I am SORE!
  • I just finished Day 3 but I will probably need all the motivation I can get soon!
  • Olive Garden does offer whole grain linguini. You can replace any pasta with it.
  • I work at Olive Garden and I would be wary of counting on a lot of this stuff. Yes you can get the breadsticks dry and it is easy enough to tell when they aren't. But the dressing is actually low fat, not fat free and still has TONS of calories. You also need to watch the croutons because they carry a lot of the calories…
  • Google Couch to 10k plans. I know there are a couple out there that people swear by. But since you have until March I would start with the Couch to 5k running plan. It is a run/walk plan to build your endurance up to run 30 minutes or 3.1 miles. When you graduate that you could then start the Bridge to 10k plan. Both of…
  • July 1st - 179.4 July 8th - 179 I can't believe I lost at all this week seeing as the 4th was my birthday and started a 2.5 day eating binge. Not to mention I also started 30 Day Shred this week and I am super sore so I know my body is holding onto some water too. But hey, I'll take what I can get!
  • She also has a series of books called "Sneaky Chef." I have one geared toward kids and one toward adults (aka husbands). They have some really great recipes and I have hidden veggies in food for my husband, son, and party guests. No one was the wiser.
  • I'd have to agree with some other posters. If they don't like it, they don't have to eat it. They need to learn to eat healthy options also or they will be in the same boat 15 years from now that we are all in now. I don't have teenagers but I do have a two year old and he already knows that he doesn't have to eat but he…
  • I spent way too much time at Target yesterday reading labels and wondering the same thing. I ended up choosing the Luna bar because it had fewer calories (190) than most of the bars. It had a good amount of protein (9g) and the sugar was the lowest I could find (11g). The sugar seems to be the main culprit in a lot of…
  • I'm 5'2", 25 years old, am currently 178.4 pounds, and wearing a size 14. My goal right now is set at 155 which should get me into the size 10 range. Once I get there I will probably try to get myself into the "healthy" BMI range and go for 135.
  • Your body may not be getting enough calories. 300 calorie latitude is a lot. I would go ahead and eat 200-250 of that for a couple weeks and see if you start losing then. And don't forget your water!
  • This. With both my boys. My 2 year old still randomly wakes up in the middle of the night and wakes up for the day between 5 and 6 am. And my 5 month old wakes up at least twice a night still. Usually around 1 am and 4 am. Then up for the day between 6 and 7am. I can't wait for the day I have to drag their butts out of bed!
  • I was in the same boat after I had my first son. It took me 6 months to even find the motivation to start caring. But once I did, I felt great. By his 1st birthday I was at my pre-pregnancy weight. . . then I found out I was pregnant again. I gained over 40 pounds and ended up at my highest weight ever. Now my second child…
  • I would allow yourself a treat if you have a big enough deficit left after a work out. If I do a run and strength training and then also eat healthy all day, I usually have 200-300 calories left. Hello icecream!!!!
  • I usually go by the "calories per popped cup" number and then measure out the portion I want to eat into a bowl. That way I know exactly how many calories I am consuming and I don't go overboard.
  • I'm in! My birthday is on the fourth but other than that it is a pretty straightforward month for me. Just gotta keep running so I can finish my first 5k on Aug 14th!
  • Same here! Daycare hours also dictate if my running days will be the same days as my weight lifting class days.
  • I chose mine because that is the lowest weight I can remember being in my "adult" life (that was my sophomore year of high school.) And I knew it was an attainable goal. Once I hit that first HUGE goal, I may reach to lose the extra 20 pounds needed to put me in the "healthy" BMI range.
  • That 1202 isn't with your calories taken off. You ate 1202 calories today. Then you worked out adding on 126 calories. Your goal is to eat back at least some of those calories. That is why you have calories left, you only ate 2 of the calories you earned from working out. MFP adds your exercise calories onto your daily…
  • Thats the correct calorie count. I work at the OG and there really isn't anything you can do to make that drink lighter. Most of the calories are coming from the Moscato wine and the rest is a pre-made mix in.
  • I usually add up the minutes so that I know it is a little more accurate. So for week one I think I ran for 8 minutes and walked for 22.
  • Breakfast at home can be anything! Yogurt with berries and granola, whole grain cereal with skim milk, scrambled eggs with salsa and a corn tortilla, bagel thin with peanut butter and bananas. Breakfast on the go can be alot of the same things if you plan ahead especially sandwiches with peanut butter or with one egg and…
  • Greek yogurt is more bitter than regular yogurts. I think the texture is better but if you are having trouble with the taste I would go with a regular nonfat yogurt. Usually I add frozen strawberries or blueberries and Bare Naked Sunflower Seed Granola to mine. You could also try one that has fruit in it already. Oikos has…
  • 23 Tostitos Bite Size tortilla chips with 4 TBLS salsa. or 1 serving of small pretzel sticks with some mustard. or a few saltines/crackers with low fat peanut butter or cream cheese.
  • I am also a huge coffee lover! Every morning I drink about half a pot. Usually it is Seattle's Best or Maxwell House. I usually go to Starbucks twice a week and get a skinny caramel macchiato with an extra shot. I will say that if I just want regular coffee while I'm out I prefer Dunkin Donuts.
  • Are you adding a lot of sweetener or milk to your coffee because that would account for the extra calories and sugar. Otherwise plain black coffee only has a few calories a cup so I'm sure that wouldn't be a reason for a major slow down.
