  • Thanks so much everyone for all the feedback. I've been really resisting planning ahead, as winging it is so much more natural for me. But, I think its time to up the discipline and make a change. I love this place!!! Thanks guys!!!!
  • Thanks y'all. Though, I have another question for those who pack lunch each day - do you still feel satisfied an enjoy your planned, and/or repetitive meals? I have this idea that I would resent eating the same thing each day, but as I write this its occurring to me that I am looking to food to do a little to much for me -…
  • Some great advice here, and, quite honestly, meeting people is hard work once you're no longer in school. I have a similar issue, as my work is fairly solitary. I seem to be making use of my kids' friends in school, and becoming friends with their parents! I do recommend meetups and other interest groups in your area. I…
  • Same thing happened to me about a month ago. I got nothing, no explanation. All I know is, if I hit another plateau and I know my food and exercise are up to par, I'm pigging out for a few days. :)
  • I have no doubt that they're lying, or at least offering the size of some weirdly tagged item in their closet. That being said, I agree with guppygirl, as I am currently wearing jeans in sizes 8,6 and 4, (which all fit the pretty much the same, with the 6s being the snuggest) and I am wearing skirts in a Small, many…
  • I love it! I don't think its annoying at all. In fact, how much more delightful to hear of someone making a positive change in her life than sitting around complaining, being a victim of one's circumstances. Go ahead and be an inspiration! :)
  • SWEET!!!!! What an awesome NSV!
  • As I read this, I am struck by how your story mimics my life. I could not have gotten a date to save my life all throughout middle and high school. I didn't even go to prom for fear of the embarrassment. One day, I decided I would no longer try to fit in, try to please anyone else or meet someone else's standards for…
  • I did that same thing, though fortunately noticed after ten pounds. Seems like a glitch in the system. I think the "DOOOOOOH!" should go to MFP! :)
  • We so excited!

  • Could be a fluke, but do keep an eye on your HR while working out, for fear you might cause yourself to pass out. It could be a reflection of caffeine or of being a bit dehydrated, as well.
  • wonderful!!! Isn't it validating to see that change is possible! Btw, I had the same thing happen to me after my second baby, and the missing good parts are coming back!
  • My mother was a avid DC drinker all of her life (before Diet Coke was around it was Tab!) and she drank very little water. She now has kidney stones, which her doc says is a direct result. May don't quit so much as look at it as a treat, and only have a couple a day while still get your 64 ozs of water a day. As Buddha…
  • That sounds right on to me. I weigh 155 and have my HR in exactly the same range when I run, and yesterday I burned 500 cals in 25 min. I spent most of the time in the 170s and 180s. I when I run, I usually burn 200 cals per mile. (Yesterday there were a lot of hills, and it was my first run after a break from an injury.…
  • Hey there! Glad you're here! One benefit about this site is that as you begin to experiment with different ways of exercising and eating, you can see what has worked well and what hasn't, since it's all documented! Personally, I don't find that fad diets work for me, and it boils down to calories in/calories out. For…
  • I hate that. That happens all the time. All I gotta say is b*tches be trippin....
  • I have similar weight loss goals as you do, and I find that losing a whole pound in a week is pretty rare. Its usually some fraction of a pound, hovering around half a pound. For me there have been lots of fits and starts, and a very active, big loss week is often followed by a weird week, an injury week, etc, so that some…
  • A few questions: are the cals you document net cals? or total cals? Also, if you've lost seven pounds in two weeks, that's pretty awesome. So, I'm wondering if there is a specific concern you have,or a specific question regarding your data. Otherwise, it appears to be working for you!
  • You've lost a whole other person it looks like! You look great! And I bet you feel great too! Good job!!!! :D
  • If you have any special requirements, you can likely find a dietician who specializes in that. For example, diabetes, fertility issues, any type of eating disorder, being a vegetarian, gluten-allergies, etc. Also, just see how you feel with them. Don't stay with anyone who you feel shames you, that just won't work. I've…
  • You are smokin' hot!!!! I am so impressed, and so inspired! Thank you, and keep it up!!!!
  • You filthy person! God only knows what perverse thing you're planning with a foam roller!!! Lol. Anywho, any foam roller will do, and you can even use and rolling pin on yourself and roll the kinks out while you sit on the sofa. I find both effective. I like short foam rollers because they are easier to store. Good luck!!!…
  • You look phenomenal, and it sounds like you feel phenomenal too. Your transformation is stunning, and I imagine that in losing all this weight, you have found so much more of what is authentically you. What a treasure.
  • I eat whatever I want and stay within my calorie range. A 20 min run gives me 300 extra calories, so if I'm over I do a quick coupla miles before bed. Today I had an apple fritter, which is pretty decadent, but I don't cheat in terms of going over on the calories. I do hear of some people spending one or two weeks below…
  • Well, I loathe green peppers, but I love to cook and try interesting recipes. I replace green peppers with either red bell peppers or poblano peppers, which might change things up for you. Also, regarding fillings, you might google "Italian Stuffed Peppers" or "Vegetarian Stuffed Peppers". Tons of recipes out there. On a 2…
  • You people are so great!! I've only posted a few times, and I always think no one will reply...and here I get a wealth of ideas, info, and perspectives. Thanks all! I think I'll log it for awhile and see how it goes. If my weight loss slows, then I can change it up, right? For now, perhaps adding those calories to my day…
  • Thanks all! You've given me some great ideas and a better perspective. Thank you :D
  • walmart.com and amazon.com are good for great prices on HR monitors.
  • I have the Garmin 305 AND I LOVE IT!!!! Its perfect for running outdoors, and the GPS feature is of little use of you're on a treadmill. I'm not good with technology and I find it easy to use. You enter in a little bit of info into the watch, and load some software onto your computer, which just means you put the disc in…
  • I'm in Austin, though I since I work, don't have a maid, and have two small kids and a hubby to fuss with I can't say that I have much time to devote to hanging out. I can't remember the last time I went and saw a movie!!! But, I do have some ideas for you. You might try meet ups for Lockart, or in Austin for more options.…
