  • Indeed. IBS-D is my ailment and worst enemy. My doctor told me I would have to eat an extraordinary amount of iron-rich foods to get the iron I needed, so that's why she prescribed me Ferrous Sulf. and it is the worst tasting crap ever, and doesn't help. I am definitely upping my iron intake with food as much as possible!
  • I have no doubt you can do it :)
  • Totally understand how you feel! Did you JUST start doing two things a day? Your body might not be used to it. If overeating is the thing you're worried about, don't. It will be just fine! I recommend using the Fitness Triangle to keep yourself from getting slow and strung out. 1. Cardio 2. Strength Training and this one…
  • Oddly enough, I usually listen to oldies. Beach boys, Beatles, Marvelettes, Mamas and the Papas! Sometimes I mix it up with some Kesha, Britney Spears, Pharrell. But for tonight's run I'm thinking Foo Fighters!! It's good to shake it up!
  • Tricep workouts! Pull downs, etc
  • I, personally, have not tried it but I have heard a lot of success and a lot of negativity associated with it. It all depends on the type of IBS and what your triggers are. That's the terrible thing about IBS...everyone that has it has different issues. And no coffee for us IBS-D sufferers :(
  • Augusta, GA here! Originally from Oregon, though Feel free to add me, southerners!
  • Not a ton of nutrition. Watch the sugar! But it is a helpful snack to calm the tummy, especially if you have IBS.
  • I don't really eat eggs and I pick the cheese off of the pizza, or have light cheese. Dairy doesn't sit well with my IBS. Especially yogurt and ice cream. I have a lot of IBS triggers. From caffeine to dairy, sometimes I feel like if I even look at food wrong I get the gut-rumbles. My belly is very picky, which makes…
  • I have eaten meat in the past. I get so burnt out on eating the same things over and over. I used to eat sandwiches all the time, before that I ate cereal, before that was grilled cheese, and before that was ramen. I can't eat a lot of that now or it makes me sick. I don't eat meat for ethical and medical issues. Meat…
  • Thank you for your input! I don't feel like I am losing weight. My main goal is to lose fat and gain muscle though. I am measuring myself tomorrow, so I have not done my measurements yet. My clothes do seem like they are a little looser but I've had a lot of wardrobe changes since I live in Georgia and it has gotten very…
  • After taken today, 143 lbs 5'4"
  • Stretching and strength training! That's what Paula Newby-Fraser did when she was injured, and it helped her win the Iron Man competition!
  • Agreed with above. Weight train, squats, resistance bands. Spinning will help a little bit, but will not tone as well as these things.
  • I was vegan for a year on-and-off and had absolutely no problem getting protein. Usually I got it from nuts and certain veggies high in protein. Beans are also good. Snacks were usually my go-to for protein rather than full meals.
  • Living in eastern GA, and training for obstacle course races. Trying to get fit and lose another 10-20 pounds! Would love some friends nearby!
  • I totally understand! I have IBS and it usually bugs me in the morning-time, so I run at night to avoid that. Often when I do end up running in the morning, I just eat something VERY light before I go to not push my bowels. But everyone is different. Postponing your run a little bit and doing a warm-up at home might move…
