  • Jamie from The Outlander by Diane Gabaldon :-) ETA: finally found some others who agree . . . just took a little while to back track ;-)
  • Double Fantastic!! :-)
  • :-) Keep up the great work!! (-:
  • High school teacher here too - for breakfast in the car (b/c I am sooo bad at getting up in the morning) - is either a Snackwell's Peanut Butter Protein Bar (140 calories - in teh cereal aisle at Publix, haven't been able to find it at wal-mart), or the Dole Fruit and Yogurt smoothie - it's in the frozen section, it's in a…

  • I'm in again!! Was just going in to log the last week-and-a-half in the July challenge!
  • LOL That's funny! All of it - the wording on the invite, the drunken tent set up Olympic sport, as well as him noticing the definition, rather than the huge purple bruise! Hope both your leg and your head are feeling okay today!
  • Wonderful sentiment to read and live by! Thank you! :flowerforyou:
  • Only thing I can think of is maybe look into various types of nuts (good for you, but high in calories???) to go with meal.
  • I've had losing weight as a goal during the summer for a number of years now, but this year is the first one where I wasn't working a full-time summer job as well. I found MFP in May, and am down 22 pounds!! :-) It's helping a LOT that my husband is also doing MFP! So even when we went on a family car trip up to Canada…
  • That's fantastic!! Congratulations!!
  • Phew! Finally updating! I've been on the staionary bike almost every day . . . In general, I've been averaging 10 for speed, but have ranged anywhere from 8-14, depending on how my knee is feeling. ~10 July = 30 min; 4.9 miles ~11 July = 20 min; 3.4 miles ~12 July = 30 min; 4.9 miles ~13 July = 22 min; 3.4 miles; + 23 min;…
  • " . . . You have no power over me!?!!" ~ Labyrinth "If the VP is such a VIP, shouldn't we keep the PC on the QT? 'Cause if it leaks to the VC, he could end up an MIA, and then we'd all be put on KP." ~ Good Morning Vietnam LOVE the thread, BTW!! Totally agree with the Field of Dreams, and Serendipity quotes! Oh I just…
  • I'm just getting into it finally, though I've always liked it! Right now, I'm just on a staionary bike until my knee is more recovered/reliable after major surgery. RAGBRAI is one of my objectives though in the next year or two. I started looking for Century Rides, but can't find any near me, at least in the next few…
  • Native Floridian (Yes, we do actually exist - not everyone moves here from elsewhere ;-)) Though, truthfully, I'm not as proud of that as I used to be, unfortunately . . . ~ I have visited New Mexico and Arizona and was INFINITELY more comfortable there than I am in Florida in the summer . . . though to be fair, Central…
  • Request sent! :-)
  • The amount of judging others, simply because they are not at the same place as 'you' in their journey is rather depressing. To the OP, while the sodium content (as mentioned repeatedly) is high, for the occassional meal like you suggested, they work fine. My husband and I love them (talking generally - Lean Cuisine, Smart…
  • Too many responded to quote, but I wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone for your encouragement!! Reading your updates gives me hope! I read about RAGBRAI as a kid and have always wanted to do it, and I've always been more interested in cycling than running. Once I 'graduate' to outside riding, I'll need some help with the…
  • Nevr mind - sorry! :-)
  • So sad compartively speaking . . . 2.5 miles around 7-8mph 20 minutes
  • Thank you for posting this, and thank you to all of those who responded - as a whole, very motivating! And like so many others said, I needed to hear it today!
  • WTG!! :-) {SN: We drove through the areas hit a few days after the storm . . . we saw trees down and street lights out from PA to SC. I hope the electricity gets back ASAP!}
  • I love the motivation of this!! I am also on a stationary bike for the time being due to still in recovery from major knee surgery (knee cap doesn't like to stay where it should). Cycling's about the only 'exercise' I can do, and work on getting my knee to bend comfortably again. Right now I'm averaging about 20-30 minutes…
  • Ditto . . . my husband just got me a Fitbit last week - it's claiming I fall asleep within 0-10 minutes, but that's just b/c I lay still TRYING to fall asleep. :-( Just can not shut my brain off. I try taking deep, calming breaths, then after 5-10 minutes I notice every muscle in my body is tense and I'm doign lesson plans…
  • Well, I'm still recovering from massive knee surgery, and just using my stationary bike to help rehab my knee (practicing getting it to bend repeatedly again), so I'm only going a max of 2 miles at a time, but I go back to the surgeon tomorrow, and hoping I get cleared to actually, authentically ride the bike. I think it…
  • I made this yesterday for my husband as a Father's Day treat - he LOVES PB. I also included one serving of choc chips - slightly melted in the microwave. Adding up all of the calories in total, and dividing by 20 pieces, it resulted in 37 calories per piece. Thank You SOOO much for the idea!! OH! And he said it tastes like…
  • Yay!! :-)

  • I'm new to this, but it would seem like it is never too late! This is all a learning process . . . you've now learned that stress leads to too many calories, so now you can start looking into ways to handle it better. I learned that I make bad choices when I'm tired or have a headache, so I'm working on developing…
