  • It changes to 1,410. So you think I should go with this then? And does that mean I should try to land right around that number and not try to be under? And make my calories count in a good way instead of some of the mindless conveniences I have been doing. So many of my friends are able to eat junk and drink alcohol or…
  • I don'have a calorie goal. MFP has me at 1,200 a day to lose 1 lb a week.
  • I have my settings at sedentary here on MFP - the calories it gives me are 1,200. Then exercise is additional - which I do eat back most often. Not all the time. The 30% was from another site calculator I used to see what my maintenance number would be to see if that is why I wasn't losing anymore and in fact gaining…
  • Well I have been using the counters here on MFP for both exercise and food calories so I'm not certain where I could be going wrong in that regard. I believe my poor food choices in the last week have created some of the problem and being close to my goal may make it just that much more difficult. I have never been this…
  • And the back-and-forth conversation above is half the reason why I don't even know what is the right direction to reach the last part of my goal.... too many things that can be done wrong, too little to do right, too confusing to know what is best. I guess I'll just go about my way with my plan to be consistent with my…
  • In your opinion does it matter WHAT the calorie consists of or just the fact that you burn more than you take in? THAT is the item I am struggling with the most right now. If it is simple math and it doesn't matter what the calories consist of, it'd be a lot easier than trying to balance the carb/fat/protein etc. etc.…
  • I agree with the above. Processed foods are the enemy. Get as close to nature as possible and you will see that number move again :)
  • FABULOUS............ AND such a better feeling than a number on the scale in my opinion!!!! Great Work!!!
  • I AM AMAZED AT THOSE RESULTS!!!!!!!! I think that is extraordinary and I am so jealous!
  • Does pasta the night before really help? I mean in 2 hours your blood sugar will drop because of the carb. How does that fall into what happens the next day? I have always wanted to ask that question because it makes no sense to me.
  • I'm in. Are we planning to do the shred every day or every other day. I've heard both concepts.
  • It is fabulous - I use it to make my protein shakes low cal and low carb.
  • I agree - the Jillian workouts are all 3 level workouts and they can be as challenging as you desire - I'd recommend any of them for starters - 30 day shred is great!! Don't let the names scare you - and they are only 22 minutes.
  • HAHAHAHAHA yeah this is for us small breasted babes - you big breasted babes get your own thread!
  • Is this a joke? You look fabulous!!!!!
  • You can find several calculators on google that will tell you with your current weight, height, gender, and age and what type of lifestyle you have (sedentary, lightly active, etc. for your work) and it will tell you what you normally burn through the course of a day exclusive of exercise. Then exercise is extra. You have…
  • I have just started P90X and it does have a few cardio components so personally I think it's the best complete workout there is and it is intense. And there are 10 different workouts including weigh training for arms, legs, chest, back, and abs plus the cardio, kickboxing, and plyometric components. Whereas Insanity seems…
  • Did you remember to keep pressing the heart rate button during the workout to get an accurate read? I only burn 130 calories during the 30 day shred 22 minute workout I guess because it's more strength than cardio. But obviously 47 is not right.
  • I tried this manually too, only once, and I came within a couple of numbers on the heart rate when I was at 144 so I have to think the heart rate part is accurate - now it's whether or not the calorie count is accurate. At least I know if I am hitting my target rate. :)
  • It's not one with a chest strap - it's the kind that reads on the wrist. Sportline S7 Heart Rate + Calorie Monitor. According to the Zumba instructor people burn 600 - 800 calories in an hour Zumba session so my 1,200 for 100 minutes seems entirely possible. I look forward to waring it tomorrow on a run where I am a little…
  • Somebody please tell me what "bump" means!!! :blushing:
  • Why do you feel that 30 minutes of walking a day isn't exercise? It sure is!! And it counts! And it's just as hard as any other exercise to carve into your lifestyle, especially EVERY DAY so she's done an amazing job and you'd be wise to see her as a mentor on how to do it. THough I dont agree with the FiberOne bar and…
  • You WILL lose weight with low carb. I stuck to 25 carbs a day for quite some time. I lost some weight. Several times. Therein lies the problem. Several times. It is nearly impossible to live that life longterm. It's just not reality. So the pounds will come back. Somes in larger increments than they left! It does get easy…
  • Good point - thanks!!
  • May I ask what you are doing for exercise and how many calories/day - days/week you are doing it? I am about your size and I am trying to stick to 1,200 and am just maintaining my weight. Not losing anymore. The only tme I lose is with very low carbing but then I can't keep the loss when I return to healthy, clean, or low…
  • I posted this same question on my wall last night. Looking for advice on how to get motivated for AM exercise vs. PM. I will come back here to read your replies!!! Thank you for posting!!
  • I agree completely with teamfit2day. It's not just calories - it's what those calories consist of. Technically you could eat 3 meals at McDonalds and still stay within 1500 calories but those would be lacking nutrients and high on carbs all throughout the day. Follow his advice and see how you do after week 1. Good luck!!!
  • You have to create a calorie deficit to lose weight so if you eat your calories back - no deficit. 3500 calories for a pound.
  • I believe people are picking on you because those are all the symptoms of pregnancy. Better check. If not- could be PMS. Cutting carbs will not cause those problems.
