  • The first 80 pounds that I lost came from walking. As others have said, I use a Fitbit to track my steps. I now use running as my primary form of exercise and take walks on my rest days. Sounds like walking is a great option for you if it's so easily available.
  • I wear mine on my torso when on the elliptical and have noticed that it tracks steps just fine. Also note that wearing it on your bra is another "officially recognized" spot to wear your Fitbit. By "officially recognized", I mean that it's in the instruction manual. I don't wear it on my bra when on the elliptical because…
  • Try this survey that I found to be accurate and enlightening - http://www.masterdocs.com/kneepain/start.php. I took it when I was still trying to figure out why my knee was in such pain the second I stepped off the treadmill after jogging. I initially thought I had torn my MCL, so when this survey told me it was most…
  • I went through similar pain, saw an orthopedist, and found out that I have arthritis in both knees! I've stopped jogging and just walk, and my knees have been fine ever since.

Walking is the foundation of my workouts but I have added strength training. I can log into my Fitbit account and enter the weight training activity, and then it'll calculate my calories…

The Superfeet website is helpful in that it tells you how to measure and determine which of their various types of inserts is right for you. I have a high arch and a…
  • This is not so much advice as it is commiseration, but are your running shoe inserts specialized or are they the ones that came with your shoes? I am wearing Superfeet inserts in my running shoes, and they have helped. Haven't worned them too much for exercise videos, though.
  • Just take it one day at a time. Do what you need to do for that day and don't stress yourself out about how long it may take you to get to your goal. Just take it one day at a time.
  • I admire your bravery and can absolutely see a difference. Way to go!!!
