  • I have been using ground turkey (85/15) for about 4 years now. I love using it in spaghetti sauce, taco salad, tacos, meatloaf, and sloppy joes. I tried the 97/3 and I don't like it at all. Let me know if you need actual recipes.
  • I saw it at the grocery store and was wondering how it would taste. Gonna pick some up next week now that you gave it your approval!
  • I think you should just take smaller steps towards your goal weight. Maybe start by walking 30 minutes a day, 2 -3 days a week. It's low intensity but concentrate on telling yourself that you are proud of being physically active. Tell yourself that you are feeling stronger each day/week, etc. You wil be building positive…
  • I would definitely be interested in the 2P. But I live in Texas, wouldn't shipping be outrageous? Just wondering. And this is a great problem to have! :-)
  • My current favorite is Sara Lee 100% Honey Whole Wheat, only 45 calories a slice. I make my sandwich with one slice of bread but pack on the fresh veggies. Sara Lee makes several varieties in whole wheat you just have to check the ingredient list. You might want to try making sandwiches out of pita pockets just to change…
  • Chick-fil-A grilled chicken sandwich is "healthy" at 300 calories but found out it was high in sodium. But it will work when I'm rushing through a busy weekend.
  • I say enjoy your success! But make sure you are engaging in well rounded conversations. Meaning, people do get tired of talking about weightloss every single day at the lunch table. I've experienced first hand from someone who got the lapband. I want to be supportive but it would be nice if we talked about other things…
  • I love greek salad and can't wait to try your suggestion!
  • I am not a fan of breakfast either but I read a great piece of advice, don't eat as much for dinner and you'll eventually adjust to that a be a little bit hungry by 9 or 10 a.m. instead of noon. Now I regularly eat a small breakfast (half glass of juice and wheat toast w/pb) and then a snack a few hours later. I stay…
  • I'm still on week 1 of C25K and it does wonders for my mental health. I feel stronger each time I jog! Stay focused, you are doing great!
  • I haven't made black bean burgers at home yet but I'll track a recipe down and forward it to you once it has my seal of approval! ;-) The vegetarian place by my house makes excellent black bean burgers so the standard is high!
  • Hi Lainey, I like to make brown rice (Steamfresh bag) with black beans (Goya), guacamole, sourcream, cheese, lettuce, tomato, salsa with or without whole wheat tortillas. Lots of protein in the beans and cheese. You can make a wrap out of it too for lunch. I also pack a nice salad with mixed greens, iceberg, lettuce,…
  • I've made coconut ice cream at home and it was sooo good! Just add coconut milk, fresh strawberries, a bit of sugar and the machine does the rest. I've seen cheap ice cream makers at Marshall's and online (craigslist).
  • Hi Mandee! Start the Couch to 5K program! I'm starting tomorrow and it has worked for tons of people on this site. I've only been on MFP for two weeks and tomorrrow will be the first time I exercise. Couch to 5 K is simple and the first week only requires 20 minutes of working out 2 or 3 times a week. We can easily do…
  • I'm might be going to church with mistie! It was 21 days at our church too, sorry about that! I felt nervous before the first fast wondering if I could really do it but I never felt weak. But I also wasn't exercising. We were encouraged to go easy on the exercising but most people I knew weren't exercising during the fast.…
  • I've done the Daniel fast twice with my church and like Dtrmnd1 stated, fasting is between you and God. The next 10 days should be about spending time in prayer. With that said, I would like to share with you the physical aspects of the fast. We've done the fast twice, each time it was for 30 days. I was at the grocery…
  • I save all my crunchy snacks for the afternoon! ;-) I usually eat either an apple with 1 tbsp peanut butter, a serving of natural white cheddar puffs (32 pieces), or Austin's toasted peanut butter crackers. But when I want something sweet I usually go for the 60 cal sugar free Jello pudding cup, chocolate fudge is my new…
