  • I am doing circuit training myself (10lb weights) with cardio(eliptical) and I find I am shedding the pounds faster than with strength training and eliptical due to higher heart rate. WIth toning you are working muscles and making them efficient calories burners. My Athletic therapist says "to burn you have to be breathing…

Work the bigger muscles first (chest/shoulders) as the smaller ones (biceps and triceps) get a bit of a work out. I…

  • I agree. The counting of calories helps those of us who need help converting to bette eating habits. Years of bad need to be replaced with years of good. Once I have made attained my goal and maintained it a few years, with the lifestyle change, then I probably won't need to count.
  • WHen you have a team cheering you on, the odds increase tremendously!:drinker:
  • Don't try to make all your changes at once. Commit to making one change each month. For example - month one-no pop, month 2 no chocolate bars,...:grumble: THis will make the change more successful.:flowerforyou: If your into this for a lifestyle change which is for a lifetime, then you have all the time in the world to…

  • You do get what you pay for. I bought one from Costco a few years back. After I year of working it hard - up to 2 hours at a time each day at maximum resistance (much better shape then), I ending up breaking the welds where the pedals attach. THis was a few hundred dollars machine so I had it repaired. 4 months late, again…

  • How about when you are standing in line at the cashier, photocopier and you start rocking side to side. Not only have I done it many times but I've seen others do it. You don't even realize your doing it - especially when you are tired!
  • Meet too. On the fence still. I've checked out the websites - SCAMS!! Complaints about small print of $80/month membership. If it works I'll buy it from a supplement store locally.
  • Ditto. Down 18 then, added 6 now down 16 overall. Sucks to redo what was gone already
  • Awesome! Keep it up :drinker:
  • Glad you got back on the wagon.:flowerforyou: Been there myself.:explode: And I definitely felt the sore stomach next day from eating bad.:embarassed: Keep it up and you'll reach your goal!:drinker:
  • You cannot target weight loss/inches lost on one specific area. Doesn't work like that. Cardio burns fat all over. Weight training increases muscle mass. More muscle on your body, the more your body burns calories even at rest. Makes it a better machine.
  • There are so many ripoffs out there making money off people who are looking for shortcuts.  :explode: :grumble: :noway: So unethical, immoral. But if no one bought any, there would be no more! THERE IS NO MAGIC PILL YET!. But whoever invents it will be a multi-multi billionaire

  • I beleive 3500cals is a pound. Going over occassionly shouldn't hurt. But remember, theses calculations are based on averages. Try to edge on the side of less rather than more. YOU CAN DO IT!:flowerforyou:
  • Your body needs fuel to burn. And yes, it is amazing that you can eat a greater volume of healthy stuff than junk. :flowerforyou: Keep it up and you'll start seeing reults soon enough :drinker:
  • Good luck to you as well! :flowerforyou: We'll have a blast getting to our goals :explode: WE WILL TAKE IT OFF AND KEEP IT OFF FOR GOOD!
