I am willing to be a mentor. A bit about me. about 3-4 years ago I had let me weight get way out of hand and was not at all where I wanted to be or happy about it. I got into a good setup (including MFP and C25K) in order to lose about 100 pounds and in the process got myself to the point where finished the New York…

Marathons are tough but with training you can get there.

It is important to make the distinction between soreness and pain. Soreness is fine and normal and will happen and is normally not a big deal. Pain is something else completely and if you have pain that isn't going away then go see a doctor. Better to be safe then sorry.

and I weight daily but only because I use the withings scale. I don't worry about the daily numbers but focus on the trend line with my goal being to always be below the trend line. I can go up and down from day to day which we all do but as long as I'm below the trendline I'm on the right path.

I normally weight in first thing in the morning after going to bathroom naked. That way it is consistant from day to day and you don't have different clothes that may not weight the same. Naked at the same time of day is about as consistant as you can get. The only time I weight in with clothes is when weighting in for…

Not just in training. When I started I ran the pea tree rise race 10k my first year. Did a half about 6 months later. Came back to peach tree the next year and took it lightly. Set a pr for a 5k ... Then hit cardiac hill at mile 4 almost wiped me out. Miles's 5 and 6 were a struggle. Pacing yourself be it training or a…

It takes time. The c25k mentioned is real good. Also check out Jeff galloways stuff. He encourages run/walk intervals. I started with c25k about 3 years ago and got winded after 30 seconds. Last year did a 50kmand the New York marathon and in Jan did dopey (48.6 miles over 4 days). I did those with the Galloway method.…

Burpees. They suck but are one of the best full body exercises out there. Lots of others.. push ups, sit ups, crunches, lunches, squats, jumping jacks, leg raises. Tons to choose from.
