I find if I log all my calories back, I don't lose well. I don't really trust MFP calories anyway. I usually eat back 20-30% of the calories it tells me I burn. That way, I get a little extra treat, but keep losing! And I'm sure that I stuff my face with veggies ;)

My #1 rule is to never believe something called "The _________ Diet."

:( This is how my mom approaches food. She's obese and diabetic. Her doctor said that nuts have the "healthy" kinds of fats that she "should" have - now she's convinced herself that she has been medically prescribed handfuls of nuts everyday, and she has no concept of "serving." I can't say anything or it becomes a…

OK, and your feelings are totally legitimate. But what about the point that if you think that way about YOURSELF and your tiny little love handles, what must you think about your friends? How can we express our own insecurities and emotions without hurting those around us or those we love?

It's your scale, not your body.

Girl, put THIS SONG ON https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBHQbu5rbdQ Dance your cute *kitten* around your house/apartment like you were the queen of the world. Shake your *kitten*. Make it acrobatic. Also - regarding running while jiggly: just get a tight-hugging top and tight-hugging capri spandex pants. It's works wonders.

Hey Colleen, I have lost 125 lbs. It's tough, but simple. The first thing you need to do is start setting goals. You're on here, so start counting those calories. Set you goals, and stick to them. Log everything! (is my mantra). Go for two weeks at first - and see how it goes. Remember, it took a long time for you to put…

Loose skin is far better than fat, for your health and for how you look and feel on the day to day. It's a very lame excuse/fear to avoid doing the work of losing weight.

God I am in the same boat. That last 10 pounds is like SUPER GLUE! I'm down to 165 (at 5'10", also female), and have such a hard time pushing below that. :( I gave myself a 2 week break to maintain, now I'm going to try to push that last 10 lbs down. It's also hard now because I am in the "normal" healthy weight range, fit…

Of course we do it without this stuff. I lost 125 lbs this way. Move more. Eat less. Stay hydrated. Ta da!

Darling, it's your biology. We're not MADE to starve ourselves, and your hormones and brain are sending INTENSE signals to your body to make you eat. That you want it, need it, deserve it...MUST HAVE IT! That's your body trying to make sure you survive on the savannah. But you know what? We're not on the damn savannah…

LAST 10 here! And it's taking for freaking EVER! I am at 168 now, which as a 5'10" female puts me at a 24.1 BMI I would love to be hovering around 160, around a BMI of 23. (Just to see it go into the 150s once would be kind of dreamy) When I am good, I do 30+ minutes of cardio 2-3 times per week, and 20-40 minutes of…

Most folks have qualified their advice by suggesting you see a doctor or registered dietician - which is a perfectly normal thing to do. Why don't you go ahead and give it a try?

Hey! Go do 45 seconds of jumping jacks. Then do 2X 20 toe-touch crunches. Ok...now you're to 0 over again.

Hello person! I've read through this whole thread, and I am hoping it has been helpful for you. I lost a friend at 23 to anorexia, and I can't tell you how similar what she was saying was to what you are saying now. If your hair was falling out, it's very, very likely because you were starving yourself, losing weight too…

492 sticks. Ohhhhh...dang! OK - since my highest weight ever, I've lost 492 sticks of butter. In the last 53 days when I started taking off a bit of extra weight: 46 sticks!

Dang, really girl? That's the best, and most healthy place to carry weight!!!! They say women with some booty and thighs (and smaller waists) are often MORE healthy than women who are just "skinny" all around! Also - would you really rather be an apple on top of a couple of toothpicks?

Hey! You know I had much the same situation - and then I discovered toning! I started doing just basic ab/back/chest/arm exercise videos from youtube on a mat at home. I toned up my stomach (it's no where near abs, but it's tighter, without the pooch), and my arms, and all around my torso and back. My weight stayed the…

My Smoothie: 1/2 cup 2% greek yogurt (plain) 1 small banana 1/2 cup berries 1 tbsp soy protein isolate 1/5 cup oats I blend the top 4 ingredients together with an immersion blender (sometimes add some almond or cashew milk to the top to make it more liquidy with very few extra calories). I fit BACK into my favorite purple jeans! Woo hoo!

Exercise always suppresses my appetite the best - hands down. Eat more protein and fats, less carbs and sugar. Drink lots of water. Also - just getting comfortable with a little hunger. Sit with the feeling. Understand it, journal about it. Don't just REACT to it. Feel it, ponder it. Get to know it and OWN it, or it will…
