That's really good to hear. It's nice to see the numbers on the scale but also very nice to have more energy, AND to feel in control. How is your baby granddaughter doing?
-
Wow, Suzy! 16 pounds! That's phenomenal! Just shows how committed you are. Even without Thanksgiving would be a totally amazing weight loss, but to do it over Thanksgiving as well! How are you feeling with it? Do you feel lighter/better?

Glad you had fun! And managing your eating and drinking at the same time! I have been away for the weekend at the seaside. Lots of eating and drinking! Well, I didn't drink too much, but I ate loads, fish and chips, icecream (well, it was the seaside) chocolate, cake, etc. I got quite frustrated with struggling with…

Happy Thanksgiving, Suzy!

That museum visit sounds great! How did you get there if it was an hour away? Public transport or car pool? I actually live about 8 miles away from an air museum. I haven't been there for ages but my grandson has visited with his parents. I'm also less a mile from a massive Railway Museum. It's practically at the end of my…

Congratulations on your new granddaughter, Suzy! Glad it all went well. You must be such a massive support to your daughter. Please feel free to share any details. I love hearing about other people's grandchildren! Well done on sticking to your healthy eating despite the challenges at your daughter's house! It seems like…

Just popping in quickly as I'm rushing out to work. I think you said your daughter was delivering today, Suzy? I hope it all goes well - you will no doubt be very busy with the other grandchildren. I hope it's not too exhausting. Best wishes to your daughter. I know people do the takeaway container and I think it's a great…

Yes, maybe go to bed when they do! Especially if they have their longest sleep at the beginning of the night. Or hopefully they sleep through (my grandson doesn't - nowhere near!). I'm up by 6.30 normally, but there's a difference between getting up on your own, and getting up to sort out two children as well! Well done on…

Just checking in. Hope your daughter is OK, Suzy. Not long to go! And hope you're getting some rest in preparation for all the childcare!

I've been on a statin for over 18 years now. Various ones over the years as they kept changing due to drug interactions, etc. I'm not aware of having any issues from them (apart from getting vague GI symptoms with all my drugs - I have IBS which doesn't help!). My cholesterol levels have been good over those 18 years.
-
I have a friend who is using one of those drugs, not Wegovy but a similar one. She's using it for weight loss as she has some health issues and wasn't getting anywhere with dieting. She has been great on it, no side effects at all, and eating healthily. I've also been hearing about heart benefits from it, independent of…

My dad has a dementia diagnosis now, Suzy. So I think he will decline, sadly. I haven't seen him for a while because it's difficult travelling at the moment, but hope I can soon. He lives alone and doesn't want carers or anything. I'm trying to sort things out for him remotely across countries (Scotland/England) with…

How completely frustrating, Snoozie! I don't know what it is with this website but it's so hit and miss whether I get notifications, and things don't post, or post twice. I'm sorry that you both are experiencing this fatigue. Life doesn't get any easier as you get older, does it? I think grief is kind of exhausting too,…

Well, I went to the gym today for the exercise on prescription referral. I'm a bit disappointed. I've got a few simple exercises to do, all of which I could do at home, apart from the treadmill, and it doesn't seem worth all the bother of driving to the gym (driving is painful) and paying for it. But I suppose I should do…

More exercise: what are they thinking? I mean, I'm sure exercise is good, but you are already doing that. It's so frustrating but I'm sure a lot of it is due to just being post-menopausal. Our lack of hormones doesn't work well for bone density, I don't think. Good luck with improving it - it sounds like you've really been…

A shepherds pie sounds delicious but definitely too much work for an evening! I hope you enjoyed the soup. I'm actually due a routine a blood test so I'll see if anything comes up with that. They will test for iron levels, I'm sure. I'm so drained. I meant to ask them about thyroid too because of family history. Although…

Sorry for not responding: I've had the evil triumvirate of these message board: 1. Can't log in, 2. Log in but don't get notifications, 3. Write a post then come back later to find it never posted. Ha ha! Love your Sweets on Sunday idea, Suzy. It reminds me of the No S diet that I did all those years ago (No Sweets, no…

Thank you for the recipe. That does sound good! I need to get back to make my own marinades. I made a mushroom stroganoff today and it was delicious!

My dad is OK, thanks, just slowly deteriorating, I think, some days better than others. He has more investigations this week, to find out what type of dementia he has. I know there isn't a cure but depending on type there's a possibility that medication can make things easier for him for a while. He has been in quite good…

I know you are joking but I don't think it's too much to ask, actually! You always have so much on, and often having to make arrangements with/for other people, and I can see the attraction of just shutting that out for a couple of days! I'm sorry your mom is struggling. The walk with your grandson sounds nice. I'm…

They have done something to MFP and I'm a bit lost with it. I had difficulty finding this thread, yet again. I hope you are both OK. You must have lots to sort out with your dad passing, Suzy. I suppose you are very busy over the summer, Snoozie? No need to post, but I am thinking of you both.

I'm so sorry, Suzy. It sounds like maybe it was his time to go, but still so sad. Thinking of you.

I hope that your hip is going to improve completely. Maybe some sort of bursitis instead of osteoarthritis? You seem to have had more than your share of painful things! No news for me yet on the hip front. I'm struggling with it, to be honest, some days more than others. Basic things like doing housework or the garden are…
-
Happy belated birthday, Suzie! I'm sorry about the hip pain. I hope it's something temporary. Even if you end up joining me on the hip replacement waiting list, I keep hearing good stories about the results! That's great to hear about your friend with the hip replacement, Snoozie. I was just thinking, why don't they invent…

Just a quick check-in. Nothing to really update, same old worries, etc. I'm eating a bit better than I have been: still some things I shouldn't have, but quite a lot of fruit and veg. I'm doing a lot of roasted veg! Today's tray was red onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, aubergine and some sweetcorn for texture, with a bit of…

That is such good advice about thinking about whether you'd say it to a friend! Of course not. I wouldn't even think it. We're much harder on ourselves! I kind of like that the positivity in the programme gives me "permission" to be positive about myself, because I think I feel obliged to be down on myself, even though it…

Well done on the presentations! You are living a very full and busy life, as ever! Don't feel too bad about the photos, although I hear you. I hate photos generally now. To make things worse I have photos from a couple of years ago which are completely different. I'm not sure I could go back to weighing and measuring. It's…

Just adding here, these are the workout videos that some people are recommending on my new programme (I can't share my old programme as it's through a membership website). I haven't tried them yet and I'm a bit limited in what I can do at the moment with my hip, but have subscribed. I like the fact that there are a lot of…

Happy annniversary, Suzy! Well done on the hiking! You never seem to have a break where you just rest, do you? There are always challenges, in a good way, of course! The B&B at the top of the mountain sounds lovely. I'm sorry your parents aren't doing so well. My dad is OK, thanks. He's 95, and in a kind of slow decline,…
