How are you all? How is your hip, Suzy? Have you had your bloodwork appointment yet? I have now been given crutches to walk with. I love them! They take so much pressure off the hip. Still doing my physiotherapy exercises. I won't be able to use them when I'm babysitting though, I don't think. Or at work! But for day to…

So yet again, I thought I had posted here, but then come back and I had written it but obviously not send it. You must have read my mind though, Suzy, because I was asking about your hip! I'm glad you've got a diagnosis and some treatment at least. I hope the anti-inflammatories help. It's so difficult with grandchildren.…

Good luck with the appointment! I hope you get the results soon. I actually had quite a good experience of being diagnosed with my hip. I send a message to the GP, they phoned me back immediately (after the message saying it would be a three week wait) and asked me to come to see him right away. He examined me and sent me…

Happy belated birthday, Suzy! And congratulations on your new status as a 65 year old, even if you don't look like one! I'm sorry, I don't seem to get notifications now when there's a new post so missed this! I hope you get your hip sorted out. Well done on maintaining your weight! That's a huge success because you'd lost…

The tiredness is definitely a bit better than before the CPAP so I think it's working but I also think there are probably other reasons for the tiredness. I did suggest B12 deficiency to my doctor but they didn't think it was a concern (although the sleep charity did say to look into it - apparently difficult to test…

Oh my goodness, Suzy! No, I don't think you're crazy! That sounds like such an amazing adventure! And will no doubt give you some motivation with the exercise. Is it a group thing, or is it just the two of you? Can you find out about the pacing? It's great that you get time to acclimatise as part of the trip too.I imagine…

Congratulations on the expected grandchild Suzy! You are so good babysitting three! I am struggling with one! I think it might get easier as he gets older, but then maybe another one will come along. I only had one child myself so it was kind of easy first time round. I can't believe you are travelling four hours to…

I've now been on CPAP for two nights. I think I was hoping for too much from it, thinking I'd wake up full of energy! I've woken up tired, but what I've found is as the day goes on I'm feeling better than I did before, more clearheaded, motivated, etc. Apparently it takes a while to get used to it, so I'm hoping things…

That's kind of funny about not getting points for being uncomfortable! It's supposed to be enjoyable after all! 😂 I absolutely love the idea of the camping cots. Very sensible. Glad you're getting some nice weather and not too hot. Yes, it's good just to get out. I keep hearing about the benefits of being out and…

Oh, I'd forgotten about how good the air fryer is in summer! It doesn't heat up the kitchen. Wow, camping and with a toddler! You are brave! I used to love camping but haven't done it since my 40s … sometimes I've kind of felt the urge but I really think I couldn't cope with it now. But it's a lovely feeling being out in…

I don't fall asleep in the day either, but like you, I do wake up feeling tired. Unfortunately I need a big mask because I breathe through my mouth at night, but that's OK. I'm kind of excited to try it and see if I wake up feeling energised! Maybe that's too much to hope for, ha ha! Also one thing I was told was that it's…

Mine is a Ninja Food Max Pro Health Grill, Flat Plate and Air Fryer (what a long name!) if you want to look it up. My son has a Cosori which is more like a standard air fryer. There are pros and cons of both. I got the Ninja because it had so many functions, like the flat plate. I don't use them as much as I thought I…
-
Yes, I've got a multifunction airfryer/grill/etc. although to be honest, I tend to just use the air fryer function. But I do like having the other functions in just one appliance, as I don't have an oven. Which means that I use it for anything oven-related, so I do use it a lot. It's certainly not gathering dust, unlike…

Just checking in. I've bought myself a Ninja soup maker in a sale. I've been struggling with cooking, and hoping this will help me eat more healthily. It's actually working so far, although some of it is probably just because it's a new gadget. I paid a bit more for a fancier soup maker, which sautes and can use raw meat,…

Massive congratulations on the 30 pounds lost!!!! Maybe it is just slowing down a bit now, but it's still a huge amount lost and still in the right direction. My weight loss was always slow, maybe half a pound a week if I was lucky, but it doesn't matter. I'm so impressed by what you're doing: it was hard enough years ago,…

Thank you both. I am very sad and tired, and there is so much to think about and organise. My op was cancelled because they want the results/treatment from a sleep study. Really frustrating, because it could have been organised a year or so ago if I'd known.

My dad passed away a few days ago. I was with him at the end and it was peaceful. I'm so sad, but reminding myself that he was OK about the prospect of dying and didn't want to go to a care home. I miss him so much. I have so much to sort out. My surgery has been cancelled, unfortunately. I still have the surgeons…
-
Yes, I got to the appointment. It was mostly just getting ready for the operation: ECG, blood tests, etc. I have an appointment with the surgeon next month. My cold wasn't that bad, just very tiring! I just seem to be run down or something this winter. Glad you are getting slightly less cold weather now!
-
"Just" six miles! Over terrain like that! Stunning scenery though.
-
Thank you, Suzy. I got home and came down with some sort of heavy cold. I have a hospital appointment on Tuesday so will probably go up again after that. I've cancelled my other appointments (dental, etc.) but didn't want to miss this one. Yes, the weather doesn't help! It's miserable here too, not terribly cold but lots…
-
Very well deserved praise from you doctor, Suzy! It's kind of the best compliment you could get! You should be very proud of yourself. Thank you for thinking of me and my dad. He is still in hospital, getting worse at the moment. He doesn't know I'm there so I'm going home for a couple of days to rest etc.
-
I was speaking to someone in Canada and she said the weather is terrible there at the moment! I hope you're ok Snoozie. She was travelling and has just had to cancel her plans. I seem to be having warmer weather than either of you but there are Hales and driving rain, so not pleasant! I'm in Scotland with my dad at the…

Wow, I'm just rushing by but wanting to see waht your results were, Suzy! Absolutely amazing! With that, and the weight loss and lifestyle changes, just incredible!
-
That's such a great idea about the dryer! Do you have to spend ages defrosting your car? Or do you have an indoor car park? I hate all the palavar of getting snow and stuff off the car. Thank you for the positive hip stories. No, I don't have anywhere to go, but have talked about a friend maybe staying with me if she's…

26 pounds!! That's amazing, Suzy! Well done on sticking with it. Good luck for the blood test this week.

That is so cold, Snoozie! When I went to Finland a couple of years ago it was very cold, but I don't think it was any colder than that. It was so cold that my phone didn't work when I went outdoors and I had to warm it up to get it to work when I was inside! I don't know how you cope! I did enjoy tromping about in the…

Just adding to the good news, that my chest x-ray has come back normal! Not nearly such a worry as yours, Suzy, but still good to know. Not sure why I'm still coughing after months though, but maybe some sort of hay fever/allergies on top of various colds/flu. Also the heating at work is being sorted out. They were…
-
Just hit 5000 days on MFP today! And have realised that despite the recent weight gain and various ups and downs I'm about 60lb lighter than I was before I started, so that's kind of a win!
-
Thanks, Suzy. Not the best start but could be a lot worse! I've had a couple of days off work now (I work part-time) and just rested and so feeling a bit better. And the dental pain is much, much better now. I have been indulging a particular guilty pleasure of mine: one of the cinemas here has reclining seats and they are…

That's brilliant news, Suzy! I'm so glad you had the scan now, and know what's going on and that it's not such a worry. That's such a good start to the year! I'm waiting for the results of a chest x-ray. Just a precaution as I've had a cough for a few months now and some other symptoms. I had a wisdom tooth extracted at…
