I'm sorry, I don't know. I have low blood pressure and was advised that it was fine to eat salt ... I think it's a different story if you tend to have high blood pressure. If I was losing weight for no reason when already light, I'd go to see my doctor, in case there's something else going on. Sorry to not be of any help!

You sound busy, Snoozie! I hope you enjoyed the volunteering. I'm doing fine. Fasting is working well for me, although it amazes me how slowly I lose weight considering how much I don't eat - lol! I did a five day fast last week and ended up a pound lighter than the week before. Not that I want to lose super-fast, but…

Your house sounds like mine - small and cluttered! I would struggle to let a family move in, and I think it's really kind of you to offer. Maybe they just feel more at home with you. It might be difficult having a small child in a "perfect" house! Or maybe they just prefer your company. Either way, I would take it as a…

Oh my goodness, that sounds like something delicious! Love Chambord and I have a bottle of it sitting just a few feet away from me as I type! I wish I hadn't thought about it now - lol! Suzy, I wish I knew that secret too (how to jump back on the wagon after just one meal or night). I think when I overeat I open the…

That's funny about the fridge - I have too many condiments too, for my tiny fridge. I stick them all in the door. It would be a terrible thing if I ran out of pickles - lol! Suzy, the food diary does sound like a great idea, to get an idea of your "normal" eating before starting and see what you want to change. I actually…

Well spotted!

Good luck with the test, Carol. I suppose if the doctor only sees one patient a day you should get a very full assessment. I'm glad there's nothing sinister on your other results. Interesting news about the artificial sweeteners, Snoozie. I don't tend to use them myself. I try to avoid sugar too, but I'm not always…

Thanks, Suzy! I don't think I'm ever the hare, but I'm trying to convince myself that the effort is good for my health anyway! Your program sounds interesting. I do like the idea of a group - I have done a group course at the gym a couple of times, didn't exactly follow their plan, but I did like being with a group of…

A six mile hike up and down steep terrain, with a pack, is hard! I hope you recover well! I love the photo. My son has a beard too - it seems to be very fashionable for young men at the moment. My son is back visiting too, and although it's lovely to see him, I'm stressing about gaining weight yet again while he's here! I…

That looks like a lovely evening, Snoozie - the kind that's worth a small gain on the scales! And you are looking great, you slim thing, you! It's hard to believe you have any more left to lose! The logging must be paying off.

It seems strange, but I'm finding that fasting is really helping with the hunger thing. It's bizarre - I'd hardly believe it if I hadn't experienced it myself, but it actually seems to suppress hunger as time goes on. I haven't eaten anything today - the hungriest I felt was in the morning before going to the gym. I was…

I think Pizza Express do something similar. It is a bit of a rip-off, but on the other hand I suppose it's difficult to make a pizza lower calorie except by making it smaller and thinner! And then use less of the fattier toppings like cheese. There's an Italian restaurant near me which does half portions of its pizza and…

I've been fooled by "diet" bread in the past too, until I worked out that it was just less bread per slice! I don't eat it often, but when I do I tend to eat really nice bread so that it feels like it's worth the calories. I've grown up with bread being something cheap to fill you up, but I think it's better for me to…

I'm so glad, Carol! It must have been such a worrying time. And I suppose you still don't have clear answers, but at least able to rule out some of the more sinister causes. Good luck with the neurocognitive testing (I have no idea what they do for that!). Have a lovely time with your son, SuzyQ! And you too, Milove! My…

I hope everything's OK with your hubby, Susan. It seems to be a time for family health problems at the moment. Your bike trail looks ... interesting. Actually, I imagine it's lovely to be so close to local wildlife. I live just next to a bike path too, but haven't used it for a long time - I really need to get my bike…

Good luck, Carol. Thinking of you. I hope you get good results and also that you get answers.

What a scare, @milove1029. I hope everything is OK and your son is recovering. I thought I'd stop worrying about my son when he grew up, but no, it just continues! Good luck with the new/old approach, @Snooozie. I've been reading and listening recently to stuff about the importance of changing things up - that your body…

Well done on maintaining and not gaining, Snoozie. But I know just what you mean. I am at a "comfortable" weight too. I've spent so long hovering about this weight, but really need to lose. I think I'm going to push a bit harder with the fasting, and probably be lowish carb too. I'm hoping that's the answer! So funny to…

Thinking of you, Carol. You must be really worried. Best of luck with your tests and appointments.

Welcome back, Susan, and thanks for the pictures! I was at the seaside too yesterday, just for the day. There does seem to be something about the sea air. (It's about 40 miles to the sea from my house, which isn't really that far - I should go more often). Well done on only gaining two pounds! Thanks for letting us know…

Wow, I can't think when the last time was that I did a (deliberate!) tumble - must be decades ago! I'm sure I would need a push - probably a pull on the other side as well! That does sound impressive - especially running and leaping on the horse! I did go to a toddler gymnastic class when my son was tiny, and I loved…

I'm glad the vertigo is better. Well done on the gymnastics! I bet it isn't easy! I'm OK, but not losing weight - entirely my own fault - lack of commitment and too many slip-ups. I'm laughing at your comment about the plan and the positive attitude followed by the mini eggs, Suzy! I completely get it! I can plan and be…

I have had a few social occasions recently, and now nothing major until April, so I have no excuse! I'm still carrying some that seven pound gain I had when my son visited for a week in February, and I was eating "normally". I know I need to be more focused, and stop thinking that I'll eat a little bit more "just tonight"…

I sometimes peel and deseed them. Cut a cross shape at the "end" (to make it easier to peel). Put them in boiling or just boiled water. (If I'm using them for a pasta sauce, I'll stick them in the pasta cooking water. If I'm not boiling anything, then putting them in a bowl and pouring a kettle of boiling water over them…

The flatbread sounds great, Snoozie - I imagine a bit like pizza! I would have been happy with it being slightly overbaked. I have one of those sons too, Susan - mine is fruit of my loins, but you'd never know it to look at him, and he can eat a ton and has a 28" waist (which seems to be small for a guy, because often he…

That's so funny that you set your daughter up with somebody! And she doesn't know? Not that everybody should have a boyfriend, but if she's on a dating site, she was obviously looking. Very subtly done! If they do end up as a couple you'll have to let her know that you were planning it all along! Well done on the…

Hi Rosco - I hadn't noticed that this thread was still active! Well done on knowing that you were having a heart attack and asking for help! Sounds like you had very quick treatment, thank goodness. Congratulations on stopping smoking, too.

I often get chicken boobs for a similar reason - there isn't much choice available at my closest shop. In fact, I will be having one tonight, but have an idea for a sauce which will hopefully perk it up a bit (creme fraiche, some fresh herbs, possibly a little bit of dijon mustard and/or whisky). I had one last night and…
