How lovely to have a puppy! I bet she's happy lying down with you and planning on that being the rearrangement every night!

Best wishes to your hubby, Susan. I hope he's better soon. I love those pictures, Snoozie, and the idea of just going off and doing it - I think I need to do that more often. It's lovely to hear that some of you have connections to the UK! I have never been outside of Europe!

It depends what you mean by near ... I was going to say I'm a long way away, but yes, I'm in the north (Yorkshire) rather than the south, but on the east side rather than the west! I've never been to the Isle of Man, although I've been to various places round about it in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland! I'm from…

Gail, I'm laughing here at you being good at fitting food on a small plate. I'm an expert! So funny! I even have a tiny, tiny plate about 2" across, and believe me, I can fit a lot on to that. It reminds me of the salad bars they used to have at Pizza Hut (maybe they still do, but I haven't been for years). I was there…

Those pictures look amazing, Susan! Have a wonderful time! Well done for walking, in the heat, Suzy, although it sounds like you might have overdone it! I'm wiped out when it's hot and can't seem to get myself to do anything much! Thankfully it's rarely hot here! It's a shame that you didn't have some instant weight loss…

I've gone the other way - I was losing, and now I've crept back up to my previous maintenance weight. Well, one of the points of losing extra was to allow me some leeway so that a gain didn't matter so much, but I didn't expect to regain so quickly. I need to get back on track. Tomorrow - lol!

I honestly don't know, Suzy! I've sometimes had times when things aren't "right", and as you say, getting out of breath, sweating, dizzy. In fact I had a spell like that yesterday, even though I wasn't doing anything more than I would normally do. There's so many things it could be, like low iron, etc. I don't know about…

Well done on avoiding the evening snacking! It so easy to succumb! And such restraint on the m&ms, Gail - well done! I have honestly got worse- I used to be able to have a little bit of something and now as soon as I start eating I feel like I don't want to stop! I suppose it might be a side effect of the fasting,…

I've been to Zumba Gold (just one class) and yes, it was hard work - I wasn't convinced it was the modified one either - lol! I wasn't even 50 then! Unfortunately there isn't a class here at the moment - I think I would enjoy it as I like the music, and I'm finding the gym classes are just too hard for me now.

That heat sounds unbearable! I was hoping you had air conditioning, but if it breaks down - not so good. Well done on the walking. Suzy, 35-40 miles sounds a lot to me, particularly if it's difficult terrain! I'm with you on losing the plot at the moment - I've been telling myself I need to get my act together. I hope you…

Pulses are your friend! If you like them, that is. Lentil and split pea soups and dahls, bean patties, vegetable chillies, Meditteranean-style bean stews.

I'm just grateful I didn't sign up for the paid version! The free version isn't a very good advertisement for it. Anyway, I managed to delete one of my post by flagging it - there was an option to say it was one of my own posts that I wanted to delete. Congratulations on your anniversary - have a lovely time!
-
Oh for goodness sake! I feel like a complete fool! Many apologies for having to read through everything twice. How embarrassing! I wish there was a way to delete posts! Maybe I can flag one of them up or something. Congratulations on the loss, Snoozie! And commiserations on the wheel damage. So easily done.

Oh, I remember the other thing I was saying was thanks for the information on oils, Seehe, and now you mention it, I'm sure I've heard that before. I usually use good quality rapeseed oil for frying rather than olive oil, due to the higher smoke point. But I'm wondering if ghee would be better? I'd also be more likely to…

I just wrote a post and it disappeared! I can't remember what I was saying ... I loved the picture of the cocktails (and sisters) and unfortunately your martini experience inspired me to drink cocktails on Friday night, including one with vodka, double cream, creme de cacao, hibiscus liquer and rose petals - definitely…

I didn't know fish oil had to be kept in the fridge. Thanks for the tip! The volunteering sounds interesting, Snoozie. I understand you not wanting to do something too emotionally stressful. I've been thinking along those lines myself, as I can retire in less than two years - unfortunately, I can't actually afford, but…

I'm glad you're able to see the doctor soon, Milove. I know with stress going on, it could just be a type of panic attack, but having heart disease I'm really keen on having those things looked at just in case, especially in women. Sometimes our symptoms are different. I hope it goes well with your doctor. Yes, the genes…

Good luck with your doctor's appointment, Milove. Your life does sound stressful and busy! I've been getting that fluttering too recently, funnily enough. My doctor said it might be normal for me (I sometimes have an irregular pulse), but I think it definitely needs to be checked out if you haven't been told it's OK.…

Happy Birthday, Time2Lose! No, I haven't had Crestor - I get confused by the names, because they are different here. I was on simvastatin, but it was changed to atorvastatin because of drug interactions, I think. I think atorvastatin and Lipitor are the same thing. I don't seem to have problems on it - or at least, I can't…

Oh, what happened there? My post has reposted itself! There doesn't seem to be any way to delete it! How odd! I apologise - please don't bother to read the post above again! Interesting about the walnuts- I eat walnuts almost daily. (Although I like your comment about the apple and walnut people conspiring - it wouldn't…

Thanks, Snoozie! Just to clarify about the scales - I have been losing scale weight, but I have very fancy, expensive scales that not only measure body fat % but give you a number for visceral fat level. I had hoped that inches lost off my waist on the outside would mean that I'd lost fat round my organs on the inside! But…

Oh, Snoozie, I'm sorry about the other shoulder - you do seem to have had a lot of physical problems recently. It must make things so difficult. No wonder your eating hasn't been perfect! I hope it's all sorted soon. Yes, you're right that we're all still hanging in there - we may falter, but we don't give up! Thanks for…

The fasting ... well, I've been roughly following The Complete Guide to Fasting. I've found shorter fasts (24 hours or less) don't seem to work for me, so have been going for longer. The longest was five days, but I wonder if that's a bit too long for me. I currently haven't eaten for over 48 hours. It does seem to be…
