The walk into town from my house A very old and pretty door on the way into town. Lots of old buildings here. This one's from 1324. The tables where I sat to eat my lunch!

Love the photo, Snoozie! Sounds like a great trip, and nice to be social with the relatives. Glad you had a good family visit too, Suzy. Intuitive eating, yes, of course I've done that! Can you guess how much weight I lost? Ha ha! It just doesn't work for me, as I get really confused signals from my body, telling me it's…

Yes, Jane Fonda looks amazing! She did have a bit of a head start with amazing genetics, I think, but looks so good for her age. I have done the whole beginner workout now and it was fun to change things up a bit. I read up on safety and as I'm cautious about exercises but apparently she did work with experts to make the…

Oh, that's so funny about the toddler! Picking things up makes me feel old! And if I get out of a chair that I've been sitting in too long - I can do it, but I seem to seize up so it's more gradual and usually with a vocal accompaniement. I need to stretch more too. I've been avoiding it partly because of my sore joints,…

That does definitely sound like exercise. And I do think those things count - lugging the hoover around is low level exercise. Even hanging out washing. It's all better than nothing, and I've just wondered now if that's one of the reasons women live longer, because they tend to do more of that sort of stuff regularly when…

Got through most of the day and remembered I hadn't done my bit of exercise like I promised, so I had a look on youtube and came across the old Jane Fonda workout. I used to have the video years ago. I only did a tiny bit of it and wow, it was hard! Quite comical trying to get even anywhere near those positions now!

I'm sorry you've had such a rough time, Snoozie. You do seem to get some odd physical things going on sometimes. I'm really glad you are having more tests, as I wonder if it's possible if there is something a bit off which is underlying everything? I remember one of my MFP friends years ago finding out that she had an…

Yes, running after a toddler is such hard work! I'm hoping I'm still up for it when/if I have grandchildren! Although you have to be careful not to end up eating the food they don't eat, so as not to waste it. It's just amazing to think that all of us were like that once, running around all day, burning calories right,…

Goodness, that sounds complicated. I'm completely confused! Sounds like a lovely little break though. I would love to go on a wine tour, even though I barely drink now - but just tasting would be fine. I hope it all goes well, even if you have to spoil the surprise!

Funny, about the flax, Snoozie. If I have flax with porridge I always add the ground seeds raw after cooking the porridge. Hadn't thought about why I do that, but I must have heard the same as you, ages ago! I don't know the ingredients in my bread: I usually get it from the bakers but I think it's just the usual flour,…

Yes, testosterone is definitely I thing! It's not usually prescribed in the UK. I have a friend who has some from a private clinic. I'm actually a lot better now than I was a few years ago, so could have done with the HRT back then rather than now. I'm so confused by it all! There are big campaigns in the UK at the moment…

I need to get up to date, but they used to say iron from meat, etc., was better absorbed than vegetable iron, but that vitamin C might help with absorption, so the steak and spinach is ideal! (Oh, and not to drink tea with meals as it interfere's with absorption, but maybe not an issue if you're not British!) If I was low…

That sounds like a really good appointment, Snoozie. It's good that he spent time looking over previous results and checking nothing was being missed, and loooking into alternative diagnosises. It will be good to have the extra tests just in case. Really good that he explained it all to you too, why he wasn't worried about…

You are such a brilliant grandparent, Suzy, definitely going above and beyond with the sleep situation! I remember if my son was in a strange place he would often fall out of bed... but stay asleep! I'd just have to pick him up and put him back in. Fine to do at that age, now I'm not very good at having my sleep disturbed…

I love the picture of the garden! With the whirly windmills that you mentioned! It will be great watching the plants grow. I didn't realise it was raised like that, but I suppose it will be easier on your back and knees.

I would have paid extra for a covid safe pedicure! I think that's worth it! You're probably not going to catch covid through your feet, but it's nice to know they take hygiene so seriously and are maybe helping prevent other things being passed on. I think as we have underlying conditions, it's still worth being careful.…

I weigh every day, so I do get lots of losses on the dashboard. It's often up again the next day! I still have a very slow downward trend though. I'm in a new 10 lb weight category which always feels good. I know I keep posting loads of these little achievements, but it's partly because my weight loss is so slow I have to…

What a great pic, Snoozie - you really look like a cyclist! Would not guess you were just getting back into it! No wonder you are sore with all you have been doing. It might be a break from your work, but certainly not a break activity wise! You also look so slim - I hesitated about whether to say it as you had such an…

Thank you both! Yes, I am so proud of both of them! It's funny, I almost tried to put my son off being a doctor when he first got the idea (although I did support him after telling him about the realities of it!), because it's so much hard work and stress, ridiculous hours and shifts, having to move round the country, no…

Yes, you're right. Remember I mentioned that I bought a lovely pair of trousers that were too big and I was going to hold them up with a belt? Well those are going, in fact I think they've already gone. Most stuff is just going to charity shops or in the bin if well-worn, but I'm going to have a go at selling a couple of…

Oh, very exciting about the bike purchase, Snoozie! I hope you enjoy it. My little bit of advice as a very occasional cyclist would be to start off with shorter rides until you kind of break yourself in, so to speak. Saddle soreness is definitely a thing, after a break. I bought a memory foam cover for my saddle (it's not…

I'm so glad you're better, Suzy! I wonder if it was food poisoning. I have had food poisoning several times - I think I must be unlucky! It's one reason I'm a bit obsessive about food hygiene, but of course I've never had it from anything I've cooked myself. It's always been when eating out (which is why I think more…

Thank goodness, Suzy! You know I logged in to check this morning as I was thinking about you, thinking about how awful Snoozie's illness was and remembering a particularly bad bout of food poisoning I had years ago, and worrying that you were getting worse. So what a relief! Did you ever find out the cause? I hope you're…

I hope you're better soon, Suzy. How miserable! Even a mild case can take it out of you, whether it's food poisoning or bug. It does sound really bad, fingers crossed for you that it's just a short-term thing.

I do feel lucky living here in some ways. Some of it so pretty, even outside the main tourist areas, like here. Actually this walk was just because I was going to a work meeting and there was no parking where it was being held so I just walked from home. But I often walk along here just for fun, or to go shopping and…

Just adding some more pictures of my local wanderings!

Thanks, Suzy, I feel the same about coming here! I do have a forum for my diet programme and I do post there, but I feel like I've known you for years and I'd rather chat to you two. That's great about swimsuits, Suzy! It's so difficult to find ones you don't hate! I should probably buy a swimsuit in case I ever do go…

Yes, it's strange how covid affected all our plans. I have retired friends who were being driven nuts by the isolation, and other friends, like me, who were working more than ever, so really different experiences. And I do think it's different if you live alone. I'm glad you're able to do the voluntary work now, and maybe…

I bet you're not lazy, Suzy! You've probably ended up being busy with housework, etc. and have been active. I admit I'm naturally lazy, but I try not to think of it like that!! But given the choice of doing something or nothing, I'd choose nothing most of the time. I do think some of the day to day stuff we do counts as…
